Extrasensory Perception System

In the next two houses we visited there wasn't much to loot. As far as I knew on one of them, the owners were about to sell it, they left a month ago because of a job transfer, the other one I was not sure, but it was almost empty and filthy. It reminds me of a summer house, but the suburbs of a middle-sized city wasn't a place where you want a vacation house, besides a nice forest in the north there weren't any attractive tourist spots near here that I know of.

The fourth house we visited was good, we were able to find more supplies, and they had old camping stuff, and we found matches. Also while looking in the bedrooms, we found clothes that I knew will fit on Hayley.

When we found clothes for her, Hope asked how the conversation went, I was reluctant to tell her because of what happened in her room. But I knew it's not something I could hide from her, I told her everything that happened to Hayley before I found her.

"That's so sad!! How can she get an ability like that, it's cruel".

"Yeah, I hope she can be able to control it some way in the future, I could see an aura around her."

"You got a power too?"

"It's not really that amazing, I have better eyesight and can see more colors than normal people, so I can see more things. I can see the manifestation of the powers some people have, Dante is able to form mental links that look like threads, Rose's eyes change colors, Hayley has a weird aura, and G's muscles kind of shine in golden at certain times."

"That's amazing!! Do I have anything?"

I gave her a wry smile

"I haven't seen anything yet, but that doesn't mean you don't have one, right now G and Hayley's powers are unknown, and they can't control it, on the other side, Dante and Rose can use them at will. I think you have a power, but you have yet to awaken it."

"Or maybe I'm more useless than Dante…"

"You don't have to worry, your power is going to wake up soon, and… right now we all are more useless than the cat". She smiled at my comment.

"You are right, and it's useless to worry about it now."

We delivered everything to G again, we added a couple devices that thought could be useful. Earlier, when we passed through the backyard G was sorting the stuff, Hope saw the classification, and we took things based on what she remembered could be used later as spares.

When G saw those things, it was like Christmas for him.

"Wow, thanks guys, I think I can build a couple of stuff with this."

"There were a lot more, but those were heavier, so later we should go together to get them here, I'm going to check one more house with Hope, and after that, we can go to get them."

"Sure, let me play with these babies in the meanwhile."

"See you later."

We went through the backyard again, even if the route was a little harder, this was safer than going from the outside.

The fifth house just like the one before also had good stuff, we took everything in the bags again. Also, I found a safe behind a painting. I had no idea of the password, but I could notice some buttons were more worn than others.

I had an idea to bypass the security, but I needed time, so I decided to come back later and leave for now.

[Rose's POV]

Gerhard asked me to help him classify the stuff that Hope and Spencer brought from the other places, I was supposed to take care of Hayley while keeping watch, but I wasn't comfortable with Hayley, and if I was there and she woke up I would probably end up saying something stupid, so I accepted.

I couldn't use my power all the time, so I used fixed intervals to look around the block, to make sure everything was ok.

After I put the water in the storeroom it was time for me to check the surrounding again.

My mind left my body, and it was like I was looking at the place from above. That was when a noticed that two guys were going toward the house they were currently at, one of the had a revolver.

I got scared, my mind came back to my body and ran straight to Hayley's room and opened the door and yell.

"Someone is entering their house!!"

Hayley and Dante jumped on the bed from the scare. Dante was faster in understanding what I was talking about and apparently was communicating with him right away.

"Who is entering where?"

"Spence and Hope are outside looking for supplies, two guys are going in where they are right now."

I left the room and went to tell my brother.

"Gerhard! Hope and Spence need help, two guys are going into the house they are at, and one of the had a revolver with him."

When he heard he went straight toward the wall of the backyard.

I went into the house again, even if I go to help it would be useless.

Hayley was leaving the room, but I stopped her.

"Stay here if you go, now you only will get in their way, my brother is going and if he and Hope became scared and your power doesn't work in the other guys it's going to hinder their Possibilities." Hayley looked hurt by my words, but she knew that it was true, right now her feelings were the last of the things in my mind.

"Are they going to be ok?"

She said in a low voice.

"I don't know the other guys had a weapon, Dante could you reach them?"

'Yeah, they are in a standstill right nyow~, I'm going out too.'

I sat in the room with Hayley and started watching using my power.

Spence had a gun in his hand too and was pointing at them while the other guy was also pointing his revolver at him, Hope was behind Spence, and the other two guys were on the other side of the living room, next to the front door.

I felt useless, just seeing what was happening made things worse, but I could not take my eyes away. I should have been on the lookout the whole time if I did that I would have known sooner and they would not be in this situation right now.

They were saying something, I focused more and was able to hear their conversation.

"No one needs to be hurt leave now, and we all can just follow our paths."

Even in this situation, Spencer was calm, Hope was behind him visibly scared.

The other two guys were familiar they were a couple of brothers who lived in near a park a couple of blocks away.

They also looked scared, but didn't leave, my head was starting to hurt, but I couldn't stop, I was describing the scene to Hayley, so she didn't try to leave the house.

"Sorry, but we need the supplies."

The hand with the revolver was shaking.

Using his foot, but without taking his eyes from them, Spence kicked a bag with probably had food on it

"We need supplies too, but you can take this and go."

He waited for their response and added suddenly.

"Break that link right now."

The other guys looked surprised at Spencer.

"I said now, and I don't know what you are doing with your legs but stop."

He probably saw them trying to use some kind of power, my head was hurting more by the second, and I was dizzy, it started to get blurry, and the sounds were like if I was under water.

'I need to endure.'

"We need the water too!!"

Spence was silent, he knew the importance of the water, but with Hope there, he wasn't going to risk her, I could feel something flowing down my nose and made it difficult to breathe, I will not be able to hold out much longer, I'm about to faint.

I have to see that he is ok.

The last thing I could hear was a door opening. Gerhard went into the house. The guy with the gun jolted, and a spark could be seen in his revolver, the handgun in Spencer's hand responded with a shot too.

Two bodies fell, and the power stopped working while I was screaming.

"No!!!!!"

I heard two shots in the distance.

I could not see, everything went black with that last image in my mind, I tried with all I had to stay conscious, but I couldn't…
