Farsian: The King Of Vampires

Chapter 16 - The King

Alexander the III was sitting on his throne bored to death. Like many before him and many after him he was the king of the known world. But that didn't mean much in his eyes, he knew that this world that he lived in had no borders. That was the distinct feature that distinguished this world from others. He didn't know why but if you went to space where he was more than once you could see the absurdity of this world. It was flat like a disc but at it's edges there were magic fluctuations only noticable from space. The world was like some kind of patchwork that connected the world that you could see from space with other worlds unknown to mankind. His species weren't exactly humans either more like magical beasts with the appearances of humans. They could age beyond even the oldest Elf if they wished to and were stronger than the strongest Titan if they made themselves so.

But there was one feature that all of his race had in common. They were aliens brought to this world by a god or some other higher existence that deemed them dangerous to the planet. Because this god appeared to be nice he gave them their magic core so that they could adapt to this new environment faster. But for some reason there was no limit to their growth and they kept on growing, subjugating all their neighbors and creating an empire that was thought to be impossible by the standards of their old world.

Earth what a strange name he thought. That was the name he couldn't get out of his head. He was only 600 years old and was born on their new home, so he never got to see their home planet. They weren't born with the powers of a god instead they got them at a coming of age ceremony when they reached a.d.u.l.thood. From then on all they had to do was concentrate on their inner magic and they would be able to create stars from nothing with enugh time. But such a live soon became boring and many either gave themselves to their d.e.s.i.r.es or fell in a deep abyss and started decaying in bitter emptyness. Thats why Alexander the III became the new god king of this realm. He made a test and was found worthy. The test was rather simple they just wanted to know his d.e.s.i.r.es and ambitions because his kind grew very lethargic after a few hundred years of live. But their d.e.s.i.r.e to live was just as strong. Alexander heard that there were a few religions on earth but when they switched planets no one was sure if their deity would follow them there so everything collapsed. Thats why no one wants to die, they are all very unsure of what happens after death.

Alexander didn't care about all that, it was too far in the future for him to worry about death all he cared about was their constant struggle with the undead. Those cursed creations of some unholy demigod were really annoying. No matter how many armys he send, no matter what he ordered his vassal nations to do they couldn't clean this earth of this unholy pest. Even worse, one of his vassal nations was about to be overtaken by the undead. He mannaged to uproot one of the vampire clans recently but they keep apearing out of nowhere. It was a real bummer.

"Bring me the knights of the realm, they should have reported by now!" Alexander was very annoyed right now. His knights that he personally created were too late. They were once a group of tadpoles that swam in the pond behind his castle. They should be more thankfull that he transformed them into splendid knights. While he may not be able to create live from nothing at the moment he was powerfull enugh to at least transform simple minded creatures how ever he liked.

It was very hard to get capable and loyal humans especially if the whole world was after his magic core. There were many techniques to absorb such a core and gain ethernal live or unlimited strengh. There were many miths and legends about their cores some even claim that you can gain godhood by absorbing one of a king.

There were many people that attempted to poison him in the past and one even almost succeded. Later Alexander had learned that the one that almost ate his core was a true vampire of the old days that only failed by a lucky coincidence, otherwise the world would have been ruled by

Alexander the IV. Since then Alexander was very interested in the activitys of the vampires.

After a while there was still no answer from his knightage, when he almost had enugh and was about to leave the throne room to look for them himself a knight in full plated armor with a long sword came throu the door. He was bloodied beyond recognition and almost transformed back into a tadpole. When Alexander saw this ugly creature he knew what happened, unwilling to watch at this poor thing any longer he snapped his fingers and the knight vanished from sight.

"Those damn vampires seems like they had an ace up their sleeve." Previously Alexander had heard of the incident at the academy and send his knight on griffons to follow those pesty vampires but only one returned and he was in bad shape. Alexander could guess that the vampires where back in hiding and he knew how good they were at that.

After that they would always re appear in the most ideal or terrible situation depending on the view point on it. Even worse those vampires seemed to get more active in recent years. Were they building an army? All he could do was hope for the best. His empire had inflated too much in the past, stretched past to many nations and bordering even more. He needed to consilidate his power or he could be overthrown and his empire could be splittered into a thousand pieces. That was the state in which they currently were, a very unstable state.
