Chapter 19 - 18: The Mystic Code

After finishing the food in front of me I quickly noticed the awkward silence and spoked first.

"So... your Sapphire-san?" William

"Yes, to be exact is Kaleido-Vambrace Sapphire. Do you wish to see your [Mystic Code] William-sama?" – Sapphire

"...Y-yes." – William

Somehow I thought that Sapphire will be much easier to deal with before but maybe due to Lancer's personality rubbing on me and the chatterbox Yamada and Ruby made her more over whelming than normal which Lancer definitely and Yamada who had an awkward look.

"Well then, will you please stand up William-sama?" – Sapphire

"Yes!" – William

"Nee-san is the Bounded Field holding?" – Sapphire

I wore what seemed to be Arthur Pendragon's white suit called White Rose but with some changes like the coat reached to the length Kiritsugu wore in the Fourth Holy Grail War while the cut in the back reached till the knee level, the collar is also in a similar styled one than what the original had. My pants also had belts as a design in the t.h.i.g.hs and a pocket in the back where a deck of cards can be contained. The shoulders also had golden epaulettes in it, which made the clothes more military like than in what event should it had been used. However, the thing that made me speechless the most is the contraption, AKA Sapphire attached to my right arm. She still looked like a vambrace but she fully occupies also my hands now which covers it in armor similar to the style Artoria Alter had but the thing that made me speechless is the prismatic-like glass blade which mostly had a blue sheen attached to her. Looking closely there are 4 indentions to it where the first one is a bit deeper where a deck of cards will be placed while the other three has only a space available for one card which the first indention had a silver styled border and the center had a golden and flashy border design. I have too many things to comment to but I must say first…

Naturally Yamada commented it but really? A duelist! Seemingly answering our deepest questions Sapphire's voice echoed from my right arm.

"Yes, the design of the Mystic Code came from a parallel world William who had a role as a Duelist so Zelretch copied it alongside the Heroic Spirit Arthur Pendragon wore during the White Day party in Chaldea Security Organization, codename [White Rose]. The enhancement of the Mystic Code is a temporary increase of all parameters by 20%, utilizing a Fusion-type Magecraft you can fuse two class cards using the card placed in the silver bordered indention as the primary base, changing temporarily to the class card type of the second base. The glass blade can also be used as a melee weapon similar in sharpness and durability if the Magic Parameter is converted in a normal Noble Phantasm parameters and can be retracted at will. Zelretch also made a modification where you can let a hood and a mask appear and let me hide in your glove if you're in an espionage missions alongside the length of the coat reaching knee length. Nee-san is hidden in your left glove and can be called out in either a grimoire form or a magic stick if you want to use magical attacks…" – Sapphire

Pulling out Ruby from the magic circle that was in my glove similar to a certain Flame Alchemist she looked more ornate in her book form and in her stick form she looked like those sticks used in orc.h.e.s.tras that is being waved to make the rhythm flow. Listening to her further explanation the book form seemed to be good for big magical attacks with long preparations and defense magecraft deployments while the stick form is similar in output of when they were still magical sticks. She mostly operates the FATE system that is in me which shocked us both Yamada that's why the enhancement is lower that Illya's and Miyu's Mystic Codes while Ruby acts as a terminal to the ROOT in me checking my status and the dimensional traveling stuff. I later learned in the future that some Heroic Spirits can highjack the cards due to the fact that it only pinpoint and specify a default selection of Heroic Spirits given by the old man. But that is a bit further in the story…

Morning 5 days later

Castle Barracks

Arriving at the room specified for us heroes I saw already some of my classmates preparing their gear.

Five days quickly passed by in our training from Commander Fredrick and based on the local's standards we are already starting to have similar skill levels to the newly appointed knights. The first 2 days of training made my classmates complain a lot but maybe due to the princess and her friends cheering them up the boy's side quickly pumped themselves and focused more in the training. The girls not wanting to be left behind also kept up and followed the training regime given to them. The first time I left the room since that spar I was bombarded with a lot of questions and such.

They somehow pieced together that my ancestor could be Lancer earning me a laugh at the old guy who I already started to treat as my elder brother. Yamada also somehow got noticed by the leader of the intelligence group in this kingdom and had been private tutoring him since then, somehow or a stroke of fate, the guy got an instructor who also had an Eastern-type Class so he quickly managed to have a faster pace than the others.

He also got along with Ruby and had been visiting the royal library in though causing others to think he had a Grimoire-type of Gift, I later heard that they borrow books about concocting strange and dubious potions. I naturally did not let them borrow the books I got from the Gods hearing that due to my senses already blazing from danger.

The Commander also let me spar with him and had been ever since then trying to engage me to his daughter who would be coming to the capital a few months in the future. I also got a weird nickname from the knights like "Leader" specifically from those single guys and such making Yamada darkly chuckle, I felt this guy is the one who is behind this. There was also a strange incident a criminal that was going to be executed in the next day escaped from prison causing a lock down in all facilities.

What felt weird was Veronica who in her pajamas was loitering in the boy's floor at that time who knocked scared at that time hearing the soldiers reports. I let her in and pacified her till she fell asleep ignoring the old man inside me whispering dangerous words. Yamada and Ruby at that time actually overstayed in the library not knowing what happened. An image of a blond and red eyed guy giving a thumbs up to me popped up in my head at that time… weird. By the way the King and James is still scared of me…

Now today we are going to our first expedition taking down a bandit camp who had been terrorizing a few villages away from here and rumors is that their leader is a mage and had been collaborating with goblins and dark syndicates. We are getting dispatched there so we will start in learning how to truly kill and fight. Looking at my classmates who had a look of going into some picnic made me somehow imagine the anguish look they will see there… Later I will comment to myself of at this time, how I underestimated the dark side of this world…
