Chapter 20

“What are you looking at? Get out!”

Michael, who snarled at the surrounding people, immediately raised Jayna by her thighs.

Jayna’s eyes widened by the sudden embrace.

At a closer distance, his blonde hair looks more dazzling than usual.

Even under the clouded, darkened sky, Michael shone brilliantly like the sun.

“Michael-nim?”

“Tracking magic doesn’t work on a dragon, but thanks to this event I discovered that the path of the wind mana can be sensed and that’s how I…”

Tracking magic doesn’t work on the Dragon.

Jayna was vaguely listening to Michael’s magical knowledge.

Michael glanced at Jayna and sighed. It’s surely not her nature to listen.

“All right. I was just really worried about the rain, but you little kid seems to have bought a cloak and used it well. Pretty good.”

“I didn’t buy it.”

“What?”

Jayna raised her hand and rubbed the cloak. Her hand felt a soft texture.

“Some brother gave it to me.”

“What? Which brother?”

Michael grabbed Jayna tighter and asked. She couldn’t tell whether he was sarcastic or angry.

“What brother?”

“What’s wrong, Michael-nim?”

It looks like he’s offended, but Jayna couldn’t figure out exactly why he was offended.

However, Michael seemed angrier at Jayna’s childish reply.

“You stupid dragon, do you know what absurd questions I have heard when I asked around to find you?”

Michael crumpled his face.

“They asked me if I was looking for my daughter.”

“Pfft.”

“Did you just laugh? You’re laughing at me!”

Michael must have been angry, so he raised his one hand and pinched Jayna’s cheek.

“Eup, uwih!”

Michael is 18 years old this year. There is only eight years’ difference from Jayna.

However, he was taller than his peers, and he was so wide that he could be mistaken for a young man at first glance.

Anyway, it’s understandable that he was always mistaken because even he was childish sometimes, his features though are already clearly defined contradicting his age.

“What a cheeky child. Will you pay my kindness with this?”

“You’re mistaken.”

In one hand of Michael, there was a teddy bear that Jayna had received as a prize.

‘Knowing Michael-nim’s personality, he must’ve been embarrassed while carrying it around, but he still kept it with him.’

However, when Michael supported Jayna with only one hand, her balance was shaken. She got scared and suspected Michael of deliberately doing it to scare her.

Jayna put her arms around Michael’s shoulders to keep her from falling.

“….. oh?”

Michael’s movement stopped because of the sudden contact.

Jayna, who unconsciously closed her eyes, narrowly opened her eyes again.

Michael’s face, whose distance was narrower than usual, looked a little strange.

He stared at Jayna. Jayna just blinked her eyes because he had been silent for so long.

“Looking at you like this…” (Michael)

His eyes, covered with long eyelashes, were softly curved. Jayna’s face reflected in his clear blue eyes.

“I can see your stupid face well. Hm, that’s pretty good.”

Michael chuckled and then fixed Jayna’s body with his arm again.

She was now crushed and stuck in his chest.

“………”

“Hm you’re warm, maybe it’s because you’re a child.”

Michael fixed Jayna once more and hugged her well.

Unlike his sarcastic and harsh voice, it was a sincere and careful movement.

“You, in front of Mob—. No, in front of that bastard, you called me ‘Brother’ right?”

“What?

“Well, if you call me that, it’ll be hard for the other Wizards to touch you, so call me that way from now on.”

What is he talking about? When Jayna stared, Michael stammered unconsciously.

“N-no, it’s because I can’t stand you calling me Mister (nim) with this face of mine. So to avoid other people’s misunderstanding, just call me Brother.”

And that day, Michael didn’t put Jayna out of his arms. Even though he seemed to be tired after using a lot of magic. He still carried her throughout the day.

What a strange thing, Jayna said in her mind.

“Anyway, from now on, if you call me Michael-nim, you’ll die, understand?”

That was the last thing she heard before she fell asleep in Michael’s arms.

*****

Jayna just saw the 8th wizard dodge her eyes and realized that her reasoning was correct.

‘As expected, I was right.’

Jayna’s intuition was keen, as it was in her previous life, and even more so after she was born as a dragon.

So, Jayna could detect the subtle atmosphere of the tower after the Moben incident.

Clearly, there was a mixture of fear and embarrassment in the eyes of the wizards, who had looked at her with curious eyes just recently.

‘I did nothing… What happened?’

There was only one answer.

Jayna gently lowered her eyes.

When she woke up, what Michael and Hilvenzia said was still clearly in her head.

-Moben’s never going to see you again, so don’t worry.

Perhaps Michael and Hilvenzia did something about it.

In the future, if she were careful enough not to catch Diamide’s attention, there would be no more dangerous things in the tower…

It was a good day in the tower. As Jayna walks quietly down the hall, she could see the dust floating in the sun shining through the big window.

“Have you come?”

At the restaurant, Michael took his seat first and waited for Jayna.

When she saw him, oddly enough, her heart tickled.

It was the same view as usual, but Jayna hesitated a little.

That’s because she remembered what Michael had said last time.

“Hello.”

Usually, she would say, “Hello, Michael-nim,” but she didn’t know how to call him now because Michael said strange things such as that it’s okay to call him ‘Brother’ now.

So she took out the title…

“…….”

With his chin on the table, Michael was looking this way with his lazy eyes.

‘You don’t like the title? But you’ve already said Brother before.’

In this world, they didn’t call ‘older brother’ unless it was blood brother. Besides, in her previous life, since she was an only child, she had never called someone Brother, so she couldn’t say the title ‘Brother’.

But she also can’t call him ‘Yo’ just like how her cousins call her.

Jayna rolled her eyes. Unlike her usual calm demeanor, she was a little upset.

“I told you to call me comfortably, but you completely forgot it now.”

Michael grumbled as he passed.

‘I just don’t like the title’

What should I say…..? While Jayna was agonizing, Michael continued.

“Hey, I couldn’t talk to you yesterday because you fell asleep.”

‘What else are you going to talk about…..?’

The topic of the conversation changed from the title issue to what happened yesterday, but it was also embarrassing.

‘I’m not a baby, and I did not fall asleep just because I hugged him.’

Jayna nodded, hoping that her cheeks would not turn red.

“Isn’t it because you could not handle the wind properly that everything happened yesterday?”

Michael folded his arms.

“Why don’t you take this opportunity to study the magic of wind properly?”

Jayna has no foundation for magic. Despite this, her magic affinity is high, and it seems that she can use magic after all, but high-ranking magic is still impossible.

“There’s an open space on the tower for magic training.”

Michael took Jayna to the training ground next to the garden.

“Now, like yesterday, pull out some mana.”

Jayna pulled out the mana as she was told. Then immediately Michael’s face of disapproval fell.

“Again!”

“Again!”

Jayna gave him a look that meant ‘I did as I was told,’ but Michael pretended not to know and only gave out a deep sigh.

Then Michael spits out an inaudible sigh with an embarrassing expression.

“Oh, you don’t even know how much magic you need to draw. I forgot that I had to tell you this, as it was very basic among the basics. When dealing with a fool, I have to match their level.”

Then you should have to tell me from the beginning. Jayna pouted her lips. She didn’t feel very well.

‘Will Michael ever be able to teach me well?’

Since then, Michael has only said things that Jayna cannot understand.

Although he had magical talent, it seemed that he had no teaching talent.

“Magic control is important. Don’t you think that if you pull out a lot of mana, the wind will blow hard?” (Michael)

“Yes, but how can I control the amount?” (Jayna)

“Well!” (Michael)

“What?” (Jayna)

“Well… in concentration…..” (Michael)

“….”

Jayna thought that she needs to realize the control part by herself.

She brought up the next question.

“How effective is the amount of mana when using magic? Even if you hold things in the wind, there’s a difference between lifting a light object and lifting a heavy object.” (Jayna)

Michael said after thinking hard.

“Just in moderation…… To proper extent…” (Michael)

“…..” (Jayna)

“You…. Can’t you tell just by seeing?” (Michael)

Jayna kept her mouth shut for a while and asked.

“How did Michael-nim first learn to control magic?”

“I just did it casually… You can’t do this?”

Jayna knows that Michael’s question wasn’t a sarcastic or rude remark. He’s asking because he’s really curious.

‘Geniuses aren’t suitable to be a good teacher. What could I expect from Michael-nim?’

Jayna’s expression cooled down in an expressionless manner.

Michael, who belatedly realized that Jayna’s expression was not good, defended with a red face.

“It’s not that I can’t teach you well, it’s because you are an idiot!”

“Sorry. I’m an idiot who can’t keep up with Michael-nim’s high-level education.”

“You’re being sarcastic!

Michael, who was about to say more to Jayna, was interrupted by the communication magic.
