Fenrir: The Wolf Overlord

Chapter 13 - The Way Home

After completing his test, Cipher silently walked back to a corner, ignoring everyone who was trying to talk with him. Of course, the most annoying for him was Inasa Yoarashi, and Izuku Midoriya for various reasons.

"Moving along. Time for the results."

He looked at Aizawa in a tired way. He seriously wanted to go back to class or even home to get away from these two bastards.

"Your total scores simply reflect your performance in each of the tests. Explaining the process would be a waste of time, so all you get are the final ranking."

Aizawa explained out unmotivated and brought his device forward lazily. Cipher looked up at the device and was able to easily read the result with his keen vision.

'As expected.'

Cipher was the top of the list and below him was Yoarashi. Bit he didn't pay attention to that. He paid attention to the last ranking. It was none other than Midoriya Izuku.

He glanced at the kid and saw him frowning deeply. It was clear that he was scared of getting expelled. He scoffed because it seemed to him that this kid was also a fool.

"Also, I was lying about expelling someone."

Aizawa said and the kid made a surprised expression. Cipher saw this and snorted. He silently left the field, knowing that it was okay to leave now. Even if it wasn't, he didn't care about it because he needed to do something without anyone seeing.

He proceeded to walk to the opposite side of the field, towards the main building. It was the place where All Might was hiding in. He soon made it to his destination and directly stared at the number one hero.

"I seriously don't know what you see in him."

He spoke out with a disappointed tone. All Might immediately knew what he was talking about and made a bitter expression.

All Might might have introduced Midoriya as someone who was aspiring to be a hero before. But now, he couldn't give no fake answers. His connection with the kid was also shown when he spied on him with worry and concern.

"I seriously can't hide anything from you, Young Cipher..."

"I don't care about anything else. Just answer my question."

All Might was surprised as Cipher was unusually aggressive. When he looked deep into those blank eyes, he realized that Cipher bore some hatred towards him.

There was no way he could mistake it. Even if his eyes was blank and not expressive at all, he had received this kind of gaze from many of the criminals he has captured. It had already become a usual thing for him.

But he was decently surprised and curious about why Cipher hated him. Except, there was nothing he could do about it. Everyone have someone they love and hate. All Might was no fool to not know that.

So, he cleared his throat and decided to speak out honestly. Nothing will hurt if he said the truth while leaving the important details out of it.

"I saw the potential in him. He has the potential to become a great hero... During a villain attack, his body had moved before he could think, just like all the great heroes. I am betting on that."

"...Is he supposed to be your successor?"

All Might flinched. Cipher didn't hesitate and kept on speaking out all of his thoughts.

"Is he supposed to take your place after you retire from your injuries?"

"...."

All Might remained silent. Cipher glared at him. After some time of silence, he heard someone's footsteps and turned his head back to find Aizawa approaching them.

"I will just say this for now. It is just like Aizawa said. That kid doesn't have the potential to achieve anything in his life. Not a kid that frail and hesitant in everything he does."

Cipher didn't care about what All Might says anymore. So, he turned back with full intention to leave. He nodded his head at Aizawa approvingly. He then left the area with a blank expression, but the aura he radiated was extremely suppressing.

Some Moments Later

After the test, there were no classes. Knowing that, Cipher changed into his school dress and directly walked towards the school gate.

Reaching there, he silently proceeded to stand beside the gate and wait for a certain girl.

"Umm.. Cipher, was it?"

He didn't budge from someone calling his name. He already sensed him coming but he wished that this kid will just leave him alone, especially when he was this annoyed. Unfortunately, nothing works his way and he knew it.

"Uhh..."

"What is it?"

Cipher glared at the kid that he wanted to see the least right now. On the other hand, the kid, Midoriya greatly flinched under his gaze and started to stutter without being unable to say anything. Seeing this, Cipher clicked his tongue in annoyance.

He already knew that this kid wanted to talk to him about his training regime but he didn't like it because this kid was hesitant to his very core. In other words, he won't talk unless this kid says something.

"Tell it quick or get lost."

His aura flared up and pressured the weak-minded kid. He was further unable to say anything and just dropped his head low. Cipher clicked his tongue once again and spat out with venom.

"Get lost."

Midoriya reluctantly managed to nod his head and started walking away from the place. Cipher watched him get joined by Tenya Lida and the girl who got infinity score in the ball throw test, Uraraka Ochako. He then scoffed in disbelief.

"What happened?"

Simultaneously, a soft voice rang out behind Cipher. He turned around and lightly shook his head to show nothing was wrong.

"I am just a bit annoyed."

"I see."

Yui spoke out with a blank tone and came beside him. She then lightly tugged on his sleeves.

"Thank you."

Cipher nodded his head, knowing that she was talking about him waiting for her. He then simply spoke out in a blank tone.

"Let's go."

With that, the two of them started walking towards the nearest station. Yui stayed silent, giving Cipher the space that he d.e.s.i.r.ed to calm down.

Some minutes later, both of them were inside a train going to Tokyo. Their school was in Masutafu and their house was in Tokyo. Both of these places were just a single station away from each other.

In the train, Cipher looked down at Yui, who was sitting beside him. There were only five people except them on the compartment. But they were sitting at a distance from them, so the two of them were the only one present around them.

Cipher suddenly had the urge to get her opinion on something. It wasn't anything of much importance but it meant a lot for him.

"Yui, what do you think of All Might?"

She instantly perked up after hearing him speak. She looked up at his blank face, a little surprised bacause this was the first time that he decided to speak first.

"I don't know... All Might is strong and kind. I guess I respect him a lot."

"I see."

Cipher slightly nodded his head. He got the response that he had already expected, so he wasn't agitated or surprised.

"In my case, I find that man a lot hateful."

"...."

Yui didn't say anything. She silently stared at him waiting for him to speak more. If he didn't, she would not speak as well. She still wanted to give some space to Cipher because he seemed not used to her presence yet.

Some moments later, Cipher took a deep breath and started talking with some hints of hatred and anger leaking out in his tone.

"I can't stand him and his stupid ideals. He tries to protect everyone, even his enemies. I can't stand it at all. It irritates me so much that I want to hit him in the face..."

He brought his tightly clenched fist up, as his expression crumbled with each of his words. Seeing this, Yui caught his fist in an attempt to calm him down.

Taking another deep breath, Cipher remade his mask and looked down at his right hand which was held tight by her soft hands. He laughed at himself internally while a faint smile appeared on his face.

"That man doesn't look back at his actions. He probably doesn't know how many people was hurt or killed because of his stupid ideals!? He doesn't know how many people he has given false hope to!?"

Still, holding onto his hand, Yui formed a soft and refreshing smile on her face and started to speak.

"I don't understand what you are saying but I know that you have a reason for hating All Might."

"Right!!! I hate him. I hate that kid as well. He seems to be chosen by All Might but all he does is hesitate and hesitate and hesitate. It is like he doesn't know anything to do except hesitate.

Yet, All Might thinks that kid can be his successor. When I heard him, it really annoyed me a lot. A successor!! If someone that hesitant was going to be strong, then me too. I should have als...."

Cipher stopped mid sentence, realizing that his foolish rant has somehow managed to bring back painful memories from his earliest childhood.

Fortunately, he had spoke out in a soft tone even if he was annoyed, so nobody in the train heard him because all of them were doing their own business.

After confirming that, he slowly turned to look into Yui's eyes. He made a wry smile and decided to go back to the main question he had wanted to ask.

"...Am I wrong to think like that?"

Hearing his question, Yui was a little stunned. Some moments later, she shook her head and spoke out softly.

"You are not wrong. You can think anyway you want.. I just wish that you will not close out your heart completely. There will still be people who will think of your good no matter what you do."

Cipher listened to her and made a bitter smile. On one hand, he felt like he made the right decision to speak with her. On the other hand, he was afraid that he had become more closer to this girl once again.

'I didn't ask for that answer but...'

"Thank you for listening to me, Yui. I have become a lot refreshed now."
