Finding Andria

Chapter 11 - REAPERS 3/3

Charles wasn't really sure how the heck did he managed what he did earlier. Because he remembered watching as Irife was pulled in midair towards the man who he swears he hasn't seen before, he watched as the man scolded Irife as if they knew each other, and he watched as Irife struggle on her feet squirming in an invisible grip that was holding her in place.

He saw as the man changed his attention from Irife to him. He watched as the man lifted one finger before he felt the strong tug towards him as his own body gone rigid, but Charles resisted which surprised the man, though it was only a fleeting moment Charles knew his body realizes what was happening and knew what to do even if he didn't quite understand it himself.

As if realizing something the man threw Irife hard to the side. Charles followed his movement with his eyes, he saw the man flicked his finger and Irife was once again lifted off the ground and was about to be hurl off towards Charles mirror displays, it will be fatal even for Irife if she landed on them, surely enough the process was registered on Charles memory, he didn't think but reacted, he pushed his right arm out and rather than a finger he closed his fist. Charles felt a heavy burden settle down on his head and travel all the way down his back and feet, the feeling quickly disappeared and replaced by a burning sensation that travels all through his nerves, he tasted blood on his mouth. But Irife stopped on midair and dropped down the floor instead.

The man realized what was happening and forcefully pulled Charles with his hands.

Because of the activity that took Charles breath away the tug that he felt this time was stronger he couldn't resist it anymore. The force was so strong he met the man's fist and hit his jaw. He skidded through the floor and landed on his back.

For a moment Charles saw black spot.

"Take care of the girl!" Charles heard. "He is waiting for this one. He'll be surprise." There was joy on his tone that Charles knew wasn't something good, he felt a chill.

Charles turned to see the three demons ran towards Irife who was still struggling in her knees. "No!" While sprawled on the floor, this time he let his left arm out and still formed his hand into a fist.

The man paused on his track; he felt the pressure passed him and traveled fast towards his comrades, taken by surprise, they were all hurled away shouting, landing on the mirror display instead, and broken glass was everywhere. The man quickly looked at the struggling Charles, smiled mischievously and run towards him.

Charles who was now breathing hard saw him coming and forced his body to jump to the side. He skidded to a stop and sees the man laughing as if enjoying the chase. He threw his hand and a pressure of power came hurtling towards Charles, it was the same as what Charles did, it had looked like a mirage distorting the air around it but acc.u.mulating enough pressure to damage.

Charles body reacted before he could even understand it, he met that power of his own, the two pressure met at the middle. Imagine two hurricanes simultaneously colliding together, the damage were unthinkable for an ordinary human. This has caused a huge explosion that even Charles was thrown backward, while all the things around was blasted with him, he heard glass breaking and wood splintering, and then a horrible sound of bones breaking after he landed on the ground.

"Look at you!" A jolly tone of voice coming from the man was heard over the wreckage and dust. "You were just a normal human this morning but you already knew how to use your power!" He laughs merrily.

Charles didn't even know how he did it; it was pure instinct and adrenaline on his part. Moving, he felt pain all over his body, but he could still push himself to stand. He needed to find Irife with all this chaos and run before he finally loss all of his strength.

"I can see you, you fool." The sound was so close Charles was surprised, he found himself face to face with the man.

He just then realized that his opponent was not that old, on his mid thirties maybe, but he clearly saw the red tinge swirling around his eyes, the only difference from Dragon's eyes though, the man's pupil was pure black. Was that a sign of a Reaper?

He met another punch and another until he dropped down on his knees blood splattering everywhere. He was clearly unpowered; a realization quickly sips in on his mind that he wouldn't be able to run away from this unless he does something damaging.

The man pulled Charles hair to make him look up at him. He saw him with that murder on his eye, as if he was only tolerating his antics awhile ago but his patience was quickly running out.

"You will make a fine brother." He said to Charles while looking down at him. "I will surely request to have you train with me in time." He smiled, "I will break every finger in your hands, then I will break your arms, and you will learn how to use your powers without them." He glared down at Charles.

"I will surely break you first. Then will see what kind of a Reaper you will become." He smiled, and Charles knew that everything he said was a promise and a payback for taking him by surprise.

Bruised and hurting with a sign of broken bones, the only thing that Charles got from all of this mess was learning that he indeed awakened into a Reaper.
