Finding Andria

Chapter 5 - 1/2 THE VIRUS

The man waited until Irife served the coffee and Charles gambled by taking a sip. If there is poison on the cup then he'll just be dead, right?

Contemplating on the decision that he made he took a sip and realized how calming the tea was.

Obviously Irife saw his reaction.

"I know how shocking this may be for you so I put an extra ingredient in there to help you calm down." She said receiving a glare from Dragon not happy she sympathized with Charles.

When Charles felt he was okay again, he took a deep breath to ready himself. Sacrificing 5 years of his life is nothing than not living at all, he convinced himself this is all for his family for his little sister who gruesomely died.

"Where is she?" Charles finally asked.

Dragon Tattoo once again stared at him. He was waiting if Charles going to change his mind, but Charles was too stubborn to back out now, especially now that he already has the lead on finding her and the answer.

"Very well," Dragon Tattoo sighed disappointed.

"Andria is currently roaming around. She is on the move; you won't be able to find her unless you find those people who killed your family first. You got it wrong on whom you should have searched first."

"What did you say?" Charles asked surprised.

"It's as you heard. I cannot help you by giving you her exact location. While you are trying to find her, meanwhile she is trying to find them."

"Those people who murdered my family?" Charles asked shaken.

"Yes. Little boy, you do not need to concern yourself on finding Andria or those people. Let Andria do your revenge, she can do a lot of things than you finding her. You should move on with your life, this whole thing about those people they are dangerous. You cannot do anything against them. Beside, you have a life ahead of you, live for the sake of living not for the sake of the dead."

Charles suddenly heard a ringing in his ear and for a split second he felt numb as if the tea controlled his emotions and could not expressed what he truly feels. He only stared at the big man on the other side of the table, comprehending what he just said while Irife glanced nervously at him.

So who and what is Andria? He wondered again.

"The woman I've spoke to, she said Andria is a prominent person, everyone know her because she's the only one using her name. Who is she?" Charles asked numbly.

Dragon Tattoo leaned back on his chair, "we are dangerous people, you should have not even associated yourself to any one of us," He said clearly stating the woman who gave his name to Charles.

"I just can't stop." Charles mumbled. "There is no day that I don't remember my family dying. My little sister, she died crying. She didn't want to leave her brother alone." He remembered Christina on her bed teary eyed repeating the words that she didn't want to leave him, he'll be alone if she die, but they both knew she was far from being saved and she was already dying.

"She didn't deserve dying that way." Charles emotionally revealed. She was only a little girl.

"I'm sorry," He heard Irife whispered.

Sorry was not even enough to compensate for his grief.

"I still want to understand what happened, and I have a hunch that if I find her she can give me that answer."

Dragon Tattoo stared at him, he knew how much of a fool Charles is becoming, he didn't even understand what was the virus that killed his sister and why.

"Since I cannot tell you where Andria is and we made an agreement, let me at least try to make you understand what the virus that killed your sister, but after that you have to decide again if you will continue this nonsense or not."

It was as if Charles wasn't even listening.

"The virus was an awakening, people who gets infected either lives long or dies immediately but the latter was more common and your sister was a victim." He started.

"If the victim awakens the virus will never kill them but will make them different. That difference was what the virus was intended for. The victim's isn't random either they are chosen. They must have the blood of their predecessor that had successfully turned and awakened. In other words they are already living with the agent in their blood it just needed the virus."

Irife, already knowing this information nodded. She watched as how Charles processes this piece of information, realizing that his little sister died not just because of the virus but because it already runs on the family feels so heart breaking she sympathize with him.

"We all have the same history but why only her and not me or my parents? They died trying to protect us."

The two only stared at Charles the question hanging between them. Dragon tattoo has a hunch but it was not enough to directly say it since he does not have any information about him. He took note to have him investigated just to make things clear. It might be possible but looking at him there were no visible signs.

"The agent can jump from one generation to another one. That is the only logical explanation why you have not gotten infected." He hopes Charles stops his doing. Charles didn't need Andria to know what cause his sister's death, he already supplied the information.

"What's the purpose of this virus if not weakening them? What is this awakening? If my sister had survived, what would she be?" Charles wanted to know.

Dragon Tattoo bored his eyes through Charles, glaring at him. It has been too much information for him to take but he was still accepting it calmly. How strong irife did give Charles to calm his nerves? But it seems those information's wasn't enough for a compensation of five years of Charles lifespan.

"She'll be a living breathing demon."
