Finding Andria

Chapter 6 - 2/2 THE VIRUS

"She'll be a living breathing demon."

------

Charles didn't know if what he heard was a joke or he was already hearing outrageous things. Wait, he said to himself, he had begun experiencing weird things the day he encountered the woman who gave Dragon Tattoo's alias for him to find. What more of having a demon in real life. Weren't there really demons and angels in the world? He felt his becoming crazy; all this myths that would have been impossible if he didn't actually experience them in his life.

Suddenly Charles laughed hysterically. The two only watched him as he absorbs the information.

No sane person would believe them right away anyway, but Dragon Tattoo felt like he needed to persuade Charles to back down on his insane plan on finding Andria. He didn't need to get deeper on their world and get himself in trouble that he wouldn't be able to come back.

"Why the hell would a virus turn a person into a demon?" Charles continued to laugh as if laughing it all out will make things easier to accept.

"Oh wait, that's right. It's on their blood!" He laughed again.

"What is this to you a movie? Are you both out of your mind? I might be desperate to find her but I'm not that crazy to believe you!" Charles pointed a shaky finger towards Dragon Tattoo. He felt played, but his heart beat was already beating frantically on his c.h.e.s.t. What the hell did he come across to?

"Listen boy." Dragon Tattoo grumbled unhappily. He suddenly grabbed a surprised looking Charles and pulled him across the table, their face closer to each other.

"You are an unwelcome guest in my place. Barging in here as if you own it and demanding me to help you get information. We made a deal, but that deal cannot give you the answer of where Andria really is, but what I compensate was more than enough of your 5 years lifespan. The information will be the same even if you find her and she might tell you the same thing."

"We are sorry of what happened to your family, you were just one of those people who already have the blood to get infected. This virus is more than what you think; this is for awakening them for something more. If your little sister had survived I doubt she will continue living with you. They will find them and turn her to something else. Something that I am sure you will despise!"

"There is no demon!" Charles screamed on Dragon Tattoo's face spit flying.

"Let go of me!" He pushed himself away but Dragon Tattoo only changed his gripped to the back of Charles neck, securing him in place.

He glared at Charles and answered him with conviction, "We are." Dragon Tattoo whispered vehemently.

Charles then stared at the swirl of red tinged on Dragon Tattoo's pupils. It was like hot lava readying itself to burst out. He suddenly went rigid, cold sweat forming on his forehead and a chill running down his spine.

"The moment you entered in my door, you already entered our world." Dragon Tattoo continued. He then loosened his grip on Charles and sat back on his chair rubbing his temple. He was clearly not in the mood for another outburst.

His daily living was popular for catering his fellow demons. He has always been a trader be it of goods or informations. He knows things that was scarcely known either, and talking about Andria was always been a topic that most didn't want to talk about, because this all involves them, their history and their future. But it doesn't mean they can actively participate on it, they can only watch and wait for the outcome because this has something to do with Andria's race too.

He can choose to tell Charles more, but he didn't think this will help him either. He might have come from a family who has the blood to get infected but their history has been already erased from him, and he didn't have that information. He needed to get his family's history first and decide then, but for that moment, he decided to just scare Charles away for him to stop getting himself involved.

While Charles stared and kept silent, shock written all over his face, he didn't notice the moment Dragon Tattoo subtly nodded towards Irife. All Charles was doing was staring on an empty space when suddenly he felt his head got hit hard and he slammed down hard on the table, but before everything got darker, he heard them whisper.

"Was that enough?" He heard Irife said.

"No. He already come this far, it will take him some more to stop." Dragon Tattoo said.

"But why did you even tell him that? You could've just told him Andria's location even if he didn't meet her there." Irife said again.

"I thought 5 years of his lifespan doesn't cut it with that kind of information. His human, their lives are more precious than us."

Charles heard them pause.

"I wonder," He heard Dragon Tattoo said again, "if his already awakened and unaware of it."

Then Charles succ.u.mbed to darkness.
