Finding Andria

Chapter 9 - REAPERS 1/3

That night, Charles brought Irife with him on his house. Actually Irife followed him behind. After talking that morning and even explaining Charles still didn't said yes. He still thought everything happening to him was absurd, but Irife was afraid if she let him go that way, she will regret it. If her old man found out about him, she has no doubt those people will too, and it was just about any time soon.

"Come on Charles!" Irife still urged, watching him go about his normal routine around the house.

"This is urgent; you have to come with me it's for your own safety." She added.

Charles paused and looked at her, "and I told you let it be. I am trying to find them anyway."

Irife wanted to rip her own hair on her head because of frustration. Those people aren't something simple; they are dangerous, imagine committing murder on an entire house and were done by one member. It was no joke.

50 years ago, the day when it happened their world was shock, everyone was. The Reapers are Gods for them, the most powerful creature of their world, they have powers no ordinary demons posses, their responsibilities heavy of burdens, but their house surpasses anything that wanted to disrupt the balance. The Reapers House was not only formed by numbers, but within was reapers long ago lived and thrived.

Everyone knew that day that their future were bleak, without Reapers who control them the balance of the world will be disrupted and when it does even humans will be caught up, and so it did. Humans live with an ancestors who once was a demon or transformed, even when their future heir didn't bear their blood, it doesn't mean it will not appear again, with the right trigger they can be awaken, and Irise know the awaken blood are not to be underestimated. According to their history, because of Reapers not having the proportionate count towards the demons rising numbers they needed to be made, and thus using humans they got the d.e.s.i.r.ed numbers.

Awakened bloods are as powerful as the long live Reapers. With the right teaching and experience they can become what they were supposed to be on their future, but for the last 50 years, when he killed his own house, he begun awakening the dormant bloods. A few of them was now on his side, and he was more powerful than ever.

Demons like Irife only hope to give Andria the strength to fight him on. Being one of the survivors of the murder, she was the most active on catching the awakened first. Her old man once told her, a Reapers job is more painful and lonely than living as a demon. The burden isn't simple and was not passed on simply, so she still wondered if Andria was still alone. Being a hero does not make one happy.

"I swear to someone who is listening I will knock you out and drag you away from here myself." Irife grumbled.

"Tell Dragon thanks for the warning, for sending you to me. But tell him I do not need it. I wanted to find her but I don't need to anymore, all I want is to get revenge on this people."

"How can you do it?" Irife asked challengingly.

"Tell me? You don't even believe me that you are awakened already, what can a newly awakened blood do to those people? You don't even know what you've change into." She added.

"So changing into a demon, I'll get super powers?" Charles asked half serious.

"No, but you'll get some extras you'll appreciate." She answered, and then added, "Changing into a Reaper does."

"I am neither a demon nor a Reaper!" Charles almost screamed.

They can argue all night but it still doesn't change the fact that he is.

"We can hide you Charles, and let Andria find you. You are way better off with her than those people. If they caught you and bring you with them, you'll just be like them, no heart, you will kill them too the way they kill your sister. You won't even remember doing it, you will no longer be the Charles you know right now, you'll be something different, and I'm afraid you won't even recognize me or any one you know."

Charles didn't answer; he kept silent, lost on his own thoughts.

According to her old man, he needed to make the choice.

"Come on Charles" She urged him again.

"This time, protect yourself. You already gotten so deep there are no way you can get back to your normal life now; your family has been a sacrifice, don't let those who love you regret it."

Charles shoulder slumped in defeat. He has been going round and round with the thought of finding Andria, he needed to avenge his family, his sister, but with this so much change, he couldn't keep up, he needed a break he needed to comprehend all of this first, but Irise urgency stops him from doing this and he knew he wouldn't be able to anyway.
