Flames Of Passion In Los Angeles

Chapter 29 - Still Jet Lagged?

*Ana POV*

I feel him slowly pulling away, his lips freeing mine.

Seconds pass before I felt his soft lips connect with mine once again, giving me a quick kiss before parting his lips from mine. He does this a few more times with each kiss becoming more deeper and passionate than the previous.

"We need to have breakfast..." I giggle out as his fingers trace gently lines down my skin.

"Mmm... I would love that...". His deep growls replay in my head, as I am slowly but surely turning more and more red.

"The food is going to get cold, let's go to the table...".

I walk past his muscular frame, towards the plate that I left on the table.

"So you going to leave me hanging?"

I turn around facing him, " I am not trying to leave you hanging... it is just...".

"It's what?..." He says softly, approaching me.

"That is the thing, I don't know..." I reply, letting my head fall downwards.

"You know what?".

I raise my head towards him, to show that I am listening to what he has to say.

"How about you go on a date with me? I want you to get ready for me at 8. You don't have any plans today, or anything urgent to do, right?".

I shake my head, "no, today I am free...".

"Good..." he replies.

"So, would you, my beautiful, like to go out on a date with me?" he adds.

I look at him as my frown began to turn slowly into a smile.

"I would love that...".

I felt a tear escape my eye and run down my cheek, but I quickly wipe it away.

"Now, how about some breakfast?".

He nods, his smile growing bigger. "Breakfast sounds good...".

I wait for a second to see if he will go in first, resulting in both of us looking at each other, looking clueless.

He chuckles, before letting me go in. "After you, my lady...".

My eyes remain on his for a second before I begin waking into the dining room. I place the last plate filled with food on the table before both of us take our seat.

"Before we begin..." James begins, "would you like anything to drink?".

I look at him, hesitant to ask.

"Water, juice... maybe some wine... milk?" he questions.

I look at him slightly confused, "milk?...".

"It came out randomly..." he replies, causing me to chuckle.

"Water... if you don't mind..." I finally say.

"Don't be ridiculous. Coming right away," I see him joyfully hop onto his feet before walking back into the kitchen. Seconds pass before I hear him pouring water. He walks back into the dining room with two glasses filled with water in his hands.

He gives the first glass to me and keeps the second one for himself.

I look at him, walking before taking a seat.

"So...".

"Yes? what's up, beautiful?" I can see his eyes looking at me, waiting for me to say something.

I chuckle at him, "stop looking at me like that...".

Giving me a confused look, he diverts his eyes off me. "Better?...".

"Actually...".

"You like me watching you... I mean, looking at you...". Seconds of awkward silence pass before we both erupt into laughter. "I am sorry, that must have sounded very weird and creepy..." he adds after we calm down from our laughter.

I try to keep myself composed, but it just makes it more of a challenge to keep myself quiet. Before I could stop it, I break into another wave of laughter.

After I calm down, I take in a deep breath, fully calming myself down.

"Thank you, that was what I needed, laughter..." I tell him before taking a quick sip of my cold water.

"But, what was it that you wanted to ask me?".

I swallow the cold water in my mouth before answering him. "I was just curious where our date will be...".

"Sadly, I cannot tell you. I want to keep it a surprise. All that you need to know is that the date is at 8 O'Clock. I want you to know how it feels to date an O'Neill.". He sends me a wink after finishing his sentence.

His action causes me to blush ever so slightly.

"You always know how to make me blush..." I say.

"No, it is just that I never fail to make you blush," he dances his eyebrows at me and he does it so s.e.xily. My blush strengthens.

"You are going to be the death of me one day, you know that?..." he laughs.

"How come?".

"That lip-bite that you just did..." he says before stopping for a brief second, he then whispers, "f.u.c.k...".

I smile to myself as I still see that I have that effect on him like I always do. But so does he, he has that same effect on me.

A moment of silence is exchanged between the two of us.

"So, tell me, how's work? Is the company doing better now?".

He looks up at me before showing me his smirk.

"Well, would you look at that, Ana business talking?" He chuckles gently at the end of his sentence. "Yes, it is. It's doing better, our profits are once again at an increase, thankfully. If everything goes the way planned, we will be back to where we were in a year or so. The only thing my company and I need is patience, you know how they say 'you can't rush business'.".

I nod at him in an understanding manner.

"Thank you though... for asking. Shows that you care..." he adds.

"What are you saying? Of course I care.".

"I know you do... and I am so thankful. It is just that... I have been with people, women, who literally wouldn't give a damn about me, they would be attracted to my money but not to me.". His words make my heart ache.

Who wouldn't want this piece of meat, huh!?

"What is the staring for?" he asks before I notice his s.e.xy smirk stretching across his lips.

I giggle slightly, I can feel my cheeks redden once again. "You are just so good looking...".

"Is that sarcasm I detect?...".

"Noooo..." I say before chuckling. He chuckles along with me.

"Anyways, let's dig in..." James says a few seconds after our chuckles wear away.

I nod, gladly taking my fork and positioning it properly in my hand.

Minutes of 'eating and saying nothing' pass before James's voice ends the silence.

"Honestly, I am so glad I met you... you are different from all the others I have dated in my past...".

I smile at him. "I am so glad that I met you at that airport, Euromania Airport. I don't know what I wouldn't have done or where I would be now if I haven't met you.".

He chuckles, "one thing is for sure. If we didn't meet that day, you wouldn't be in LA now, living in a giant house with a millionaire.".

"Even to me, that still sounds so crazy. I am dating a millionaire...".

He chuckles before placing a forkful of food into his mouth. He gently m.o.a.ns to which I am sure is because of the food.

"Has anybody told you how an amazing of a cook you are?".

I nod, as I can feel the smile on my face growing bigger and bigger. "Many people have...".

Sadly, my fulfilment is short-lived as I felt a wave of nausea wash over me.

I let down my fork whilst trying to swallow down nausea.

"Are you okay?". I look up at James, but suddenly, everything around me begins spinning, adding to my nausea.

I quickly grab my glass of water and I down the little bit of water I have left, hoping it will ease the nausea. My hopes come crashing down when I feel my gagging reflex kick in. Major red flag.

I get onto my feet and run as fast as I could with the strength I had left to the nearest bathroom.

I bolt into a bathroom on the ground floor of the house, before collapsing under the bowl of the toilet and throwing up.

Once finished, I flush the toilet, wipe my mouth and sit against one of the four walls in the big bathroom, trying to regain some power. At least the dizziness has eased away.

Seconds pass before James enters the bathroom and quickly heads towards me.

"Baby, we have to go to the doctor, this is getting ridiculous. I am getting worried, really worried.".

I shake my head, swallowing the spit that has acc.u.mulated in my mouth but clenching my teeth seconds later at the harsh sensation of the heartburn.

"It must be the jet lag. Don't you worry.".

"I don't think this is jet lag, Ana. You are here for more than two weeks. Jet lags only last a week, max.".

"Then it could be the food, I don't know, I am still new to this city. My body is getting used to processing this foreign food." I reply.

"But the food shouldn't be that much different..." James says quietly as he touched my head. "You are not burning up, which is good..." he pauses for a second. "Next time this happens, I am going to carry you to the doctors, okay?".

I nod.

I stay sitting for a few more seconds before deciding to stand up.

Leaning against the wall, I try standing up onto my weak legs, abruptly, my knees give way. But before I could fall, James lifts me into his arms.

"That was a close one..." he says and I just nod.

"Sofa, or bed?" he asks me, looking down into my eyes.

"Sofa... please...".

"Your wish is my command," with a mighty smile he begins walking.

Exiting the bathroom, we turn left, walking forward, we take a right once we reach the end of the hallway, entering the living room.

He gently places me down onto the sofa before covering me with a blanket.

"What is going to happen with the date?" I ask him.

He chuckles, "don't worry about the date, you need to get better, and the only way that you are going to achieve that is by rest. Okay?".

I nod.

He gives me a smile before kissing my forehead.

"Rest now, okay?". His voice was so soft and velvety. I nod.

He chuckles gently before pressing his lips onto my cheek.

"I am going to come around with some soup later, okay?".

"Okay...".

He gently tucks me in before gently c.a.r.e.s.sing my forehead.

"Both Miss Sue and I will be in the house, so if you are in trouble, don't hesitate to call us, okay?".

"Okay...".

He once again kisses my forehead before standing up. "Sweet dreams, beautiful...".

I give him a reassuring smile before closing my eyes.

Within minutes I fall asleep.
