Forgotten One

Chapter 15 - Eggs Hatching

In the distance one could see a Jade Tiled Anaconda fleeing and a Silver Coat Gorilla chasing after it. The Anaconda was moving at a fascinating speed but with each leap, the Gorilla caught up to it.

The Anaconda was gleaming even though it was surrounded by darkness. Its skin was as smooth as jade but as tough as steel. Its skin was bright and slippery as well. This helped it traverse the canyon floor with great speed. Its eyes were a dull yellow with black slits and a pink forked tongue. Its skin had a diamond pattern running along it and its tail had chime-like objects clinging to it.

Once the snake was far enough it finally turned around to face the Gorilla. It lowered its head and raised its tail in an attacking position, ready to strike. The strange thing was it never moved its head; its tail just kept on raising. The Gorilla was preparing to attack when it noticed its tail.

Those chimes only sprouted once a Jade Tiled Anaconda had given birth, they were used to help signal for help from the tribe. The tail of the beast swung left to right violently, a rattling sound appearing.

"Sssssss Ssssss Ssssss"

Hissing could be heard nearby, and other jade figures began to appear one by one. They varied in sizes, but they looked the same. There were now 3 other Anaconda's surrounding the Gorilla. They made a formation around the Gorilla covering all of its potential escape routes. The Gorilla turned around and prepared to barge its way to safety.

A beast as big as the Gorilla would still be beaten with numbers. The Gorilla was completely covered in flawless silver fur. There was not the slightest injury covering its body, indicating its strength. This Gorilla's face, neck, abdomen, and hands, and feet were padded. They were dark and rough; they were tools of destruction. He had but one scar running down his mouth, but this single injury could tell of countless tales. He was uncontested in strength and removed his only obstacle.

The Gorilla beat his c.h.e.s.t in order to call his kin, but the Anaconda had lured him too far, no one would be able to hear him. Two of the Anaconda's made the first move, they slithered up his body and tried to wrap around his arms. They wanted to immobilize the beast and slowly strangle him. The Gorilla swung his arms into a cliff and tried to take them off. It looked to affect the younger Anaconda; it was slowly loosening its grip when another Anaconda bit its leg.

Venom was shot out instantly into the ape and its movements slowed.

The Gorilla's hair instantly sharpened and punctured the Anaconda's on its arms. They were injured but bit down at the same time. The youngest Anaconda failed in its attack and it was punctured thoroughly and riddled with holes. Its limp and lifeless body loosened in grip and slowly fell to the ground. The older Anaconda was also punctured but nowhere vital. Seeing the young Anaconda die, it steadied its resolve and tightened around the Gorilla.

The original Anaconda who had just given birth recovered a bit of her strength and launched her body at the Gorilla. Her motherly instincts kicked in when she saw the young one die and she wrapped tightly around the Gorilla's other leg and bit down with all her might. All of the venom she had been saving was immediately sent into the Gorilla's body.

The Gorilla's movements slowed once more, and its eyelids grew heavy. He struggled to keep them open, but his struggle was in vain. The Gorilla kept on walking, its walk turned into a crawl and its crawl turned into stagnation.

After an hour the Anaconda's loosened their grip and slithered away from the body. The gorilla looked as if it was peacefully sleeping but if someone was close enough, they wouldn't hear a heartbeat. Only a lifeless body remained, several holes drilled deep into its padded skin, venom slowly began to corrode the skin.

The other snakes had now left and gone back to their nest and the only one who remained was the mother Anaconda. She rushed back to her children as fast as she possibly could, hoping they were still safe. When she got back all she saw was a human man, his arms wrapped around the eggs, protecting them from danger using even his own body.

She also saw a pitch-black wolf pacing around the eggs and the man, the wolf walked in circles constantly. Never stopping, never lowering its guard. The man protected the eggs and the wolf protected the man. The Anaconda was moved because of what she was witnessing. She slowly slithered towards them showing no sign of hostility.

Billa and the Anaconda spoke for a bit before Billa conveyed the message to Lei Shu.

Lei Shu woke up to an enormous Anaconda signaling for him and Billa to ride on its back. He looked towards Billa and his eyes were filled with trust and comfort. Lei Shu gathered the eggs and climbed upon the Anaconda's back along with Billa. He held on for dear life as the Anaconda raced back to the Gorilla using its full speed.

The boulders in its path were crushed to smithereens but the Anaconda felt no pain whatsoever.

Once she made it to the Gorilla's dead body Lei Shu and Billa jumped down. They were shocked at how colossal the body was and were staring in awe at the Anaconda whom they believe had killed it. They didn't know what to do but stare.

When they looked back at the Jade Tiled Anaconda it had deep care in its eyed. It lowered its head as a form of greeting and closed its eyes showing its deep trust for them. The Anaconda's eyes opened and darted towards the body and darted back towards Lei Shu. This continued for a while until Lei Shu finally understood its intentions.

"Oh, so you want to give the Gorilla's body to me as a gift for protecting your children." Lei Shu bowed and continued to speak, "Even though I protected your children it wasn't too dangerous for me and I wasn't harmed at all. You had to kill this Silver Coat Gorilla and in doing so you probably received quite a bit of harm yourself. You should consume it and use it to heal your injuries, only then will you be able to protect your children."

The Anaconda was even more moved by this human. The neared her head to the Anaconda and sunk her fangs in.

She spewed out a clear liquid and it entrapped all of the venom in the Gorilla's body.

The Anaconda injected an antidote as well as the venom. If Lei Shu ate this beast, he would not only grow stronger but he would develop a poison resistance up to that of a rank 2 spiritual beast. The Anaconda was about to bow its head once more and notion Lei Shu to eat but she heard a sound.

"CRACK CRACK"

The eggs on her back began to crack and small little baby anacondas slithered out. They were completely neon green and you could fee faint jade patterns covering its body. They looked at Lei Shu as their father, love filled their eyes because they felt his warmth for quite a long time. They set up behind their mother and began to slither into the distance, they were going back to their tribe.

Now all that was left was a giant Silver Coat Gorilla corpse, Lei Shu and Billa.

He climbed up onto the beast and stuck his dagger into the beast's padding. He skinned the beast to remove all the hairs, although they were pretty, they had no real use for him at the moment.

The beast's meat was bright red and had a few white dots throughout it.

Billa began by taking chunks out of his neck. Once he finished that portion, he continued on to the rest of the head. He saved the eyeballs, tongue, and brain for last and devoured them in one gulp each. He was finally stuffed and laid playfully on his back and relaxed.

Lei Shu began with the stomach and was munching through his intestines. He left the entire stomach spotless, only the skin was left.

He still had the legs left and he and Billa were already extremely full. Lei Shu decided to bring them to the Anaconda's so the children could feast on them and become big and strong. Strong enough to protect the tribe and their mother.

Lei Shu followed in the general direction the Anaconda took and with Billa's sense of smell they took the correct turns and twists.

They finally got to a place that was unlike the rest. This area was lush with bamboo plants. The entire area was green and at the edges was simply darkness. Moss was growing on tall healthy trees. There was bright green grass and bushes covering the ground.

"SLITHER SLITHER"

A giant Anaconda came out with his wife. They seemed to be the Chief and his Mistress. The mistress was very familiar, and she was smiling when she saw them. She was the Anaconda they had met before and helped.

He saw 3 little Anacondas slither out towards him, their tails were wiggling with excitement. He presented the Gorilla's legs and the Chief took them. He placed them in front of his children and they all slowly began to devour the legs. The chief nodded and performed a ceremony of respect.

Lei Shu was about to leave when he was stopped by a green tail blocking his path. It was the mother; she slightly shook the chimes on her tail. They emitted a faint shimmer and fell from her tail onto the ground. It looked like a branch with countless silver flowers, they emitted a beautiful sound.

She used her tail to push the chimes closer to Lei Shu. She didn't know what to offer him and this is all the came up with. If he was ever in danger and they were in the canyon, he could shake the chimes and they would come slithering to his rescue.

Lei Shu was honored, he took the chimes and placed them within his robes. He bowed once more and turned to leave. Vanishing back into the darkness. The Anaconda's made their way back into the trees and the Chief, Mistress, and their children went back into the cave.

Lei Shu had just now eaten a rank 2 spiritual beast, although he didn't know what stage it was at, he knew he needed to meditate. His body was quaking with each step, he had been suppressing the power until he delivered the legs. His body was now turning a bit grey from holding onto such devastating power.

He fluttered his robes and began to meditate. His pores opened and he absorbed the berserk spiritual energy. His eyes were twitching, and he finally stood up.

"My strength increased but I'm still a way off from breaking through once more. Maybe I should go look for Mo Fen and ask him if there's a way to increase my strength a bit faster. Maybe there's a different way for me to increase my strength altogether."

He gave Billa a bit of Mo Fen's robes that he had snatched beforehand. Billa sniffed the robes and raised her nose into the air, the direction was East. They traveled for quite a bit until reaching another cave.

This cave brought them to another world. This place had many books of literature and a clean working desk. There was a crystal-clear blue spring and gr.a.p.es covered the vines around the stones surrounding the cave. Mo Fen was sitting in a rocking chair enjoying the fire he had going nearby while reading a book and dipping his toes in the spring.

Lei Shu was alarmed, and he quickly spoke out, "Old man do you hate your family? You said I'm a part of your family, but you bath in a marvelous spring while I struggle to stay clean."

Mo Fen's eyebrows twitched and he slowly closed the book and placed it onto the table beside him, "Lei Shu come sit here, I have your next task ready."
