Forgotten One

As soon as the wolf showed up, Billa jumped right out to protect Lei Shu. That roar, that posture, it was obviously a rank 1 spiritual beast.

"THUMP THUMP THUMP"

As the frame became clearer Lei Shu seemed to recognize it. He had eaten one of those before, a rank 1 spiritual beast. Although Billa was also a rank 1 spiritual beast, he was only a in the early stage. The beast in front of them was much larger, it was an adolescent in the mid stage. The wolf was obviously angry and filled with bloodl.u.s.t. If Lei Shu guessed right, that boar had run into the wolfs' territory while it was minding its own business. The boar may have stumbled into the wolf because it was running so fast, and because of this it ended up in the wolfs' jaws. The wolf was almost a head taller than Lei Shu when it stood up, completely terrifying.

Lei Shu didn't bat an eye, at this moment it was kill or be killed, he knew that to do. Billa was ready as well, even though they just met, Billa could somehow feel what Lei Shu was feeling.

"AOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Both wolfs howled and the battle began. Billa jumped out like lightning, appearing in between the wolf and Lei Shu. The wolf in front of them was in a frenzied state so its intelligence was slightly compromised. Billa took this chance and began using its extreme speed to zig zag around the wolf. As the wolf was watching it became restless. Billa had incredible stamina so he could move for a while. The wolf lost his patience and reached his neck out for a bite.

"MUNCH"

The wolf caught a mouthful of dirt, in the corner of its eye was Billa sitting calmly.

Lei Shu took this chance to throw the dagger at the wolfs' skull. The wolf was momentarily confused but using its instinct it dodged the dagger. Instead of entering its eyes, it missed and hit the side of its head. Lei Shu almost regretted that instantly, the dagger he threw out barely scratched the spiritual beast. With another flash, Billa appeared beside Lei Shu with the dagger in its mouth.

Lei Shu had to think of another plan, and this one had to be in the midst of battle. He resumed his original posture and repeated the same thing. Billa ran in a zig zag while Lei Shu kept throwing his dagger at the same spot. After repeating this 3 times Lei Shu could finally see some flesh being exposed.

The wolf caught onto their plan; his eyes became a bit clearer. He purposely pretended that he was chasing Billa but he always had his eyes on Lei Shu. Right before Lei Shu was about to throw his again, the wolf dashed to the side. The dagger completely missed its body. As soon as the wolf landed, it hurled its body straight towards Lei Shu. If he removed this nuisance, he would be able to dispose of Billa easily.

The wolf landed on top of Lei Shu and was about to claw at him and rip his throat out. Lei Shu was prepared to start throwing fists in a last-ditch effort until he saw a ball of black flying in the air. Billa had jumped right after the wolf when he saw it pounce at Lei Shu. Billa as an early stage rank 1 spiritual beast couldn't do much against the mid stage beast but Bill was stronger than normal beasts his stage. Billa was also extremely tenacious, he jumped on the back of the wolf and latched its jaws around one of its ears. The wolf tried to wiggle Billa off but as long as the wolf didn't leave Lei Shu alone, Billa wouldn't let go. The wolf slammed Billa's body on the ground and the sound of fracturing could be heard. Lei Shu's heart jumped and slashed the dagger across the wolfs' throat with all his might. This was the wolfs' weak spot and he did manage to leave a slight cut. Billa's eyes sparked and it pulled with all its might. The wolf now had a cut across its throat and its left ear completely missing. Pieces of muscle and tendons were falling out and the cartilage was exposed.

The wolf let out a low cry and rushed at Billa.

"Billa run, run away from here, quick. Go back to the cave!"

Lei Shu was very worried about Billa, he didn't know how tenacious these beasts were. If someone fractured a bone on Earth, they would go to the doctor and receive help. He didn't know that after a few days, Billa's wounds would heal and his bones reconnect. Billa didn't get the feeling of death or despair from Lei Shu, only confidence, so it trusted him and left. One final look between them could show their trust and understanding for each other.

Lei Shu looked towards the mutilated wolf in front of him and purposely took a disadvantaged position. The wolf was debating on leaving and coming back to finish the job when it was healed. But seeing how Lei Shu fell into a disadvantaged position, he couldn't give up the opportunity. He really did want to leave though, if he was further injured, another beast could kill him on his way back to his territory.

The wolf bared its fangs and cruelly sneered at Lei Shu.

"What are you waiting for, if you wait any longer half your face might rot." Lei Shu tried to taunt the beast, but it couldn't understand anything coming out of his mouth. But it held a deep hatred for this puny mortals' life.

As the wolf was in the advantageous position, it decided to make the first move. It slowly inched up towards Lei Shu, he stood their leisurely with his hands behind his back. Now this was a taunt the wolf could understand, he had seen it too many times, but never from the same person twice.

When the wolf determined that it was safe, it pounced at Lei Shu, flying in the air above him. The wolf came crashing down on top of Lei Shu, right before it landed, Lei Shu was again, SMILING.

"You stupid oaf, why don't you fight against someone your own size."

Lei Shu finally took his hands out from behind his back and what was sitting in it immediately made the wolfs' pupils instantly contract. With a sinister grin he took out the poison chamber. The poison chamber also came from s rank 1 spiritual beast, and because of this it would be able to heavily injure the wolf.

Lei Shu didn't hesitate at all, he used all of the poison left in the chamber, he banked his all on this method. The poison was really too foul, a gas cloud instantly enveloped the wolf. Lei Shu planned this all from the beginning. His cut on the wolfs' throat, him injuring the side of its head, and lastly Billa ripping off its ear. All of these different minor attacks created openings for the poison to enter. Lei Shu knew exactly what he was doing from the start, purposely playing dumb as a ploy.

Before the wolf even made it to Lei Shu's neck it fell to the floor.

"BANG"

The wolf was writhing on the pain, mumbled sounds could be heard from it. Lei Shu waited 15 minutes and saw that the wolf was slightly getting better. He didn't know if he should wait or plan a killing move.

The only issue was that Lei Shu wouldn't be able to kill it. Mo Fen was still in the distance watching. If anything went wrong, he would jump headfirst and kill the wolf. A rank 1 spiritual beast wasn't supposed to appear. Mo Fen let it continue so that Lei Shu could temper himself and grow. If Lei Shu didn't encounter his own rank 1 spiritual beast and become friends with it, Mo Fen wouldn't even let the fight go on. He was watching intently and could see the conclusion. The wolf would die in at most an hour. It would slowly stop writhing and become completely paralyzed at the 30-minute mark. Mo Fen's old and decrepit body swooped down from the cliff and with this swooping motion he took off the wolfs' head, ending its misery.

Lei Shu was bewildered but he hurriedly dusted himself off, "Disciple lei Shu greats master, I don't know how this wolf managed to reach the outer area, but I have defeated it in battle." Lei Shu knew exactly why it was here. It was here because of the boar he had scared away, but he was talking so fast he forgot to mention it.

An old voice echoed, "Good child, you're quite strange. Although you aren't in the first stage of body tempering, you are already as strong, if not stronger than one. It's obviously due to eating the beast meat and drinking beast blood."

As Mo Fen spoke, he made various motions with his hands. He looked like a performer in an orc.h.e.s.tra, but a faint red glow could be seen coming from his hands. The poison in the wolf had seeped into its blood and would be inedible for Lei Shu.

Mo Fen was still moving his hands about and slowly but surely, bit by bit, poison was being removed from the wolf through its ear. Mo Fen was bringing up a black sludge like liquid from within the wolf, cleaning its blood and body. "Child, I have removed the poison from the wolf, now you will be able to consume to your hearts content. Meet me at the cave and I will leave the corpse there, Billa is waiting for you and you'll be safer there. After I leave the corpse, I have a few things to do. Make sure you absorb everything and once I come back, we will commence the disciple-master ceremony.

Lei Shu nodded and happiness filled his eyes, this was a man he knew was upright and respectable. Someone worthy of his trust. Lei Shu then turned his head and began making his way back to the cave. He had a few minor injuries but nothing too serious, nothing that would lower his walking speed. When he finally got back to the cave, that familiar smell once filled his nostrils. The smell of blood had now grown slightly comforting to Lei Shu. He looked around for Billa and he was seen sitting beside the corpses that were tied up when Lei Shu was draining beast blood. Billa as a wolf, was just like Lei Shu's dog back on Earth, whenever he finished eating, she would eat his bones for him.

"CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH"

Billa was now chewing on the bones of rank 1 spiritual beasts, eating them as they were tofu. They had worn out a bit but Billa was truly incredible, incomparable to any other beast at the same rank. Lei Shu's heart was warmed by the memory and he began to miss her a bit. After he finished thinking, he steadied his mind. On the floor beside the stone slab Lei Shu first woke up on, was the wolf laying there, lifelessly. Lei Shu slowly began by draining its blood, with prior experience the process was much faster this time. The beast meat tasted a bit rough, but it was still similar to the taste of chicken on Earth. The best thing about this meat was that it gave Lei Shu strength. This beast that was freshly killed, had a great amount of strength remaining in its body.

Lei Shu began by tearing pieces of meat from the bones of the wolf, after he finished chewing, he swallowed and tossed the bone towards Billa. Billa began to eat himself, he was greatly delighted as this was fresh, it tasted much better to him. After Lei Shu finished eating, he looked over at Billa. He was sound asleep on his side, his stomach bulging out like a bowling ball. He snored off peacefully, probably having a nice dream.

Lei Shu finally took his last bite of meat and last gulp of blood. The blood in his veins were roaring under the pressure and couldn't handle it. Sweat was covering Lei Shu's forehead and his brow twitched.

"CLANG"

The last 2 chains in his body had finally broke.
