From Slave To Ruler

Chapter 18 - Drama

"Yes sir!" They  shouted right away,  not aiming on wasting a heartbeat. The consequences of touching an employee hired by Aaron Hare himself, are indeed deadly. At this case Auicia is so important that, all of them knew they would lose their head, if they ever touched Auicia in any way. Be it with a weapon or a dirty mind. All four of the men agreed, some out of fear and some because they simply weren't s.e.xists.

But one agreed because he had no other choice. Let's say he had different opinions about this that woman, that man is of courses Inigo Cassinade. With his big head clearly making up for his short height (egotistically speaking). He of course because receiving the shortest introduction earlier compared to everyone else, especially compared to a woman, is now full of jealousy, but he keeps it to himself and chose to let out that anger, let's say differently.

Asking himself a continuous question first, "Why exactly did Arena Master Fin give him such a Short Introduction time compared to the rest, especially compared to Aaron James and Aucia Hynde. Is it because of his height? Did he say something wrong? Doesn't he portray a threat? He is literally the highest in level compared to the rest of Bear Bloods." He was no doubt hurt, and decided to let out that rage without risking his own neck.

He can barely do anything about this situation, especially considering that he is a Ground tapper and considering that the Wealthiest merchant is protecting this lady. But he still chose to try and hurt Auica Hynde with his limited options. Bad mouthing.

"I don't mean to sound rude or s.e.xist. But I don't think it's a very good idea to have a female in the Arena Grounds as a warrior. She will die very soon no matter what level she is, and it won't be a pretty sight. I do not wish to see such a useful looking woman suffer such a fate." Even though he is spinning the conversation around like a bootkisser, he meant nothing but harm towards this woman even though she didn't exactly do him ever wrong. Before today, she didn't even know this man. It's rather scary seeing how far jealousy can go.

This of course affected Auica a bit, but at least now she can offend, curse or even slap this man without risking her neck. And at this point, she just couldn't keep quiet and she refused to be. Here she can speak without risking her head, being r.a.p.ed, being beaten with b.a.r.e hands or a Whip, etc etc. She was under great protection.

"So you think women are weak just because we are women?" Asked Auica definitely being irritated, giving Inigo a death glare which made him feel rather uncomfortable at first, but his ego wouldn't let him give in. Making sure earlier that he is the most experienced Bear Blood in the Black Team, didn't let him give up yet and he expressed himself with clear to notice confidence and of course smithing his words enough to not risk his own neck in the process of reflecting the damage to his ego of which he received earlier.

A few words aren't worth a life after all. He continued to speak with rather triggering sentences. " I don't think that all women are weak. But we all know that men are more experienced at such a craft and have more chances of surviving." Noticing that he triggered a few nerves, he smirked as a form to show that he is pleased with this, let's say "progress." The good part for him is, everyone is looking at him now. The bad part is, he might not wake up tomorrow. "But there is no going back now." he thought.

"I'm just saying, women are more experienced more on other things more than most worthy men are." Auica is not so surprised by what she is hearing, and of course she didn't hear this for the first time, she was even raised with those barriers.

But now given the chance to finally argue back, she would be a fool to pass this opportunity of putting a s.e.xist into shame. Facing Inigo Cassinade, not breaking eye contact with him at all, she asked him more questions to fuel her anger more. As some would say, she intentionally threw "Weird Water" on the conversation to light it up into an explosion.

"What exactly are women more experienced at compared to men?" She asked, knowing exactly what to expect but still letting him say it himself like a big boy. She of course remained pissed off, but buried most of her anger in her heart and primarily aimed to embarrass this fool in front of possibly brighter minds. The situation she has to face right now is indeed emotional, it's not easy to talk to a S.e.xist about equal rights and the adrenaline in her body raised greatly due to it, even though she refused to show it.

However, she really wanted to slap the shit out of him. But yet again, slapping him would just make her scoop to his low level. Which is something she doesn't need right now. At least that's what Arthur Hare guided her to do. She is to avoid any physical conflict as much as possible to avoid being kicked out of the Arena. It took a lot of effort to get her in there to begin with, and if she got kicked out, Arthur's plans would take a lot longer to progress.

Inigo Cassinade proceeded to try furthermore trigger Auica. Disgustingly, he found this situation rather entertaining. "Well for example women are better at performing household tasks, such as making dinner, cleaning the house, sewing, etc etc.  Basically anything minor that doesn't require much brains or physical strength while we men are meant for bigger things such as fighting in the arena as Warriors or working in the Mines. No offence to you of course!" Letting out this final blow, he has done it, he managed to reach Auica's every nerve and wreck it. To the point where she just couldn't reply in a delicate civilized manner anymore. She had to publicly embarrass this man as much as possible.

While still continuing to glare at the man with hate and disgust, she no doubt became completely pissed off and just wanted to offend this man in  every way possible but still held it together. But she won something more from this situation. It gave her more motivation to fight! Fight for women's rights so bullshitters like this one are less common to encounter. She understood more what Arthur tried to accomplish now.

She proceeded to speak with a rather high tone, "Well if that was the case, I wouldn't be here right now would I? If that was the case I would have been at some random strangers house making food or as you prescribed cleaning the house, or maybe even "Other duties"(she air quoted). But I'm simply not!" Smirking in a rather devious manner, she build up the conversation to the point where she could beat her at his own game. Job and body shaming.

"I got offered a job by them most wealthy Merchant here in Hawk Kingdom. Meaning I'm not here by Force, unlike you who doesn't even have another choice.

Seeing the man wanting to offend her back but being left at a loss for words, she just continued to try and shame this s.e.xist in front of everyone here as much as possible without portraying herself as bad(to not go against Arthur's instructions of course).

"I think me and you have big differences when it comes to success if you didn't find the piece of mind to realize yet." Using the small bit of ego existing in her mind to her advantage was indeed a good mood, and a language that people like Inigo have no trouble understanding.

"Me as a "woman" has reached a lot more than you as a man ever did, even though you're clearly older than me. So to avoid any "accidents" I prefer it for you to keep your mouth shut, unless you want to say something good for once." Adding the last sentence delicately but no doubt with devious intentions, she got Inigo to swallow his own spit due to nervousness. "Because if you don't die in the Arena in your first fight, you might die in my hands. Do we understand each other little man?" Leaning her upper body forwards towards him so she can be exactly eye to eye with him to show further confidence in her words, it is something no doubt unexpected. She lacked confidence a lot around men(especially s.e.xists), but at this scene she went not an extra mile, but two to put this s.e.xist into shame.

Inigo however, didn't know what to feel at the moment when Auica's face was only 10 inches away from his. Would he feel embarrassed in front of the crowd? S.e.x.u.a.lly Tempted by her Charisma, attractive slim face, or the small glimpse of her b.r.e.a.s.ts he got when she bent down to his size. Or simply feel highly offended of her unexpected comeback. Whatever he felt, he was left speechless and at that moment had the ability to form only sentence.

"I'm sorry!"

Inigo was left speechless, and even though he apologized, he wanted to slap Auica hard enough to make her lose a couple of teeth. Or worse, corner her and use her beauty. But he knew well that if he did something stupid like that, his head would be cut off like a hot knife through butter. It's simply just not the best idea to slap that specific woman. All he could do right now is to keep quiet and try to live down the embarrassment he just lived through, and officially put her in his Blacklist. This day started off rather well don't you think? These people barely even know each other but yet again they were capable of making new enemies. Sometimes, life can be like that.

Alright alright break it up you two we aren't here to fight each other. We are here to fight the other three teams in this Arena and of course make more gold for ourselves we don't have time for this bullshit. Understand Ground Tappers?" Asked Arena Master Fin. Well, it wasn't exactly a request, but it was more of a Command. What Auica and Inigo were doing is basically considered wasting time, and wasting time is what Fin hates the most. Time is Gold.

"Now grab a sword of which you prefer. That's the sword you will need to master if you wish to survive enough to be worth remembering." Under a thicker and colder tone he continued "If you can't Master Swordsmanship then you won't live long enough in these Arena grounds!"

Seeing the new Ground Tappers not uttering a word as the chose what sword they think they prefer(while some like Aaron had no idea what they were doing), Arena Master Fin was trying to make up the time they lost throughout that Argument by filling in the newcomers with more details.

"Whatever swords you prefer, we have a master that can help with training, of course your teacher doesn't exactly fight in the Arena, he just teacher. I suppose he found a good way to make money without risking his neck." Arena Master Fin of course had respect and sympathy for any Warrior risking their neck in the Arena, but he also has respect for people who are managing to bring coins home without risking their neck, basically he can respect any individual who can bring coins home, be it Bronze, Silver or Gold.

"Well not exactly..." Gently answered Bacada Theras, the youngest Ground Tapper in the Arena Grounds.

"What was Ground Tapper Bacada Theras?" Asked Arena Master Fin. The fact that he remembered his name only by hearing it once, is rather unique. Does he remember every name like that? So easy?

Swallowing his spit, thinking he spoke out of line, Bacada expected the worst, and mumbled a lot as he spoke. "Well I trained with a Master for a while before. And i heard stories about students causing accidental injuries to either him, other beginners and or other trainees."

"Well not here!" Answered Arena Master Fin. "Here you will need to be very careful because of small cuts on anyone(especially the masters), can lead to your head being cut off. He doesn't exactly tolerate such lack of skill." Seeing the new ground tappers suddenly fearing to start their training, he aimed to calm them down. "He is very kind as long as you respect him, respect the craft, respect the art, so don't anything dumb. Because if he kills you or any other Ground Tapper, I can't do anything about it. You would be forgotten, history, your Rank is just too low for anyone to be concerned about your life. Have we reached an Understanding Ground Tappers?"

"Yes sir!" They shouted all at the same time which yet again caused Arena Master Fin a lot of goosebumps, but he refused to show it yet again.

"Great. Now the Master is waiting outside to teach you how to use the Sword of your choosing. He will teach you basic moves which you will need to practice on your own. We are short staffed when it comes to teachers, he works 12 hours a day so don't piss him off!"

"Perfect..."

"Just what we needed..."

"I suppose I can do that.?"

"What's the worst thing that can happen..."

"You could lose your head aren't you listening? Where are you exactly with your mind?"

"That was sarcasm."

"Silence! let's move outside to the training Yard please."
