Frozen Soul Trapped In Box Of Love

Chapter 33 - Blackdawn Section: Guardian

"The incident on the volcano undersea eruption?"

Liam felt uneasy. He cant stop thinking is this a coincidence or is it something that the king has planned all along. Mona answered him with her calm voice.

"Local people that live nearby the island call it 'The Demon Wrath' and said it will be erupted every 150 years, there's a cave under the volcano mountain called Bluemoon Cave".

He checked the report from Mona twice. No flaws and everything was there but he still felt there's still something missing, something that he can't see through his open eyes. He finally closed the black file.

"Send two shadows there and make Alpha 1 stay."

A black mist appears on Liam right, a man with red hair briefly nodded at Liam and after exchanging glances with Mona he disappeared with the black mist.

"You said I should rest for today"

Mona sitting on the couch with a devilish smile on her face, she was supposed to be home and resting but Liam called her to have a deep conversation.

"I said you don't have to go hunting for today. There's a request from an old friend. He wants to send his daughter to the academy but under a new identity."

Liam was only ten years old when he learned what his family business was. He always wonders why he can always see a man staying in the shadows. The fact that he is the only one who can see it while most people only saw a thin air make it more suspicious.

Until one day, his grandfather bring him to a solitary place, deep in the woods and high in the peak of a mountain. he then know that he was no ordinary boy and his blood carried a huge responsibility.

"He said it's the third time he moved but he still didn't feel any safer. The only thing he can do now is to let her daughter learn to survive, because he realizes that he can't protect her forever."

Mona looks at Liam. She remembers when Orion came to her with a child and said the same thing. It took time for Mona to train Liam because he was so stubborn looking for Ayanna at that time.

"Did he understand that learning at the academy means that she will be one of our guardians?"

Liam nodded, he recalled the man's face. He's determined to make her daughter learn to kill so she will not be killed. He cannot afford the luxury of wealthy people who pay for the protection under the shadow. Which is basically the most safer thing.

"We were here to provide guidance and protection. We hide and let them live in their new life"

"Make arrangements for the intelligence sect, send them there. We need more information from the local island, they could be genuine source. They can start a new family there with the orphan twin that was saved last month."

"They just turned thirteen, the boys will be out of control"

"Do you forget who our old friend is? He was a general commander who betrayed his president to save his country from being sold. He already lost everything on the night he come to us except his five years old daughter. Thirteen year old boys will be easy than saving his country and become wanted"

Quincy entered the room with books and paper in his hands. It appears that he can enter the room without opening the door.

"Mona is right Liam. He can be perfect guidance to the twins. They can start a new family, learn to survive and learn manners."

Quincy moved to the table and put the books in front of Liam. He showed Liam the papers in his hands and looked grimm.

"The snakes were aiming at the keepers. Their head to be precise"

Liam's eyes narrow at the image of how a body brutally lost its head. He got a headache with the unknown organisation that was targeting the group of strongest people on earth.

"They are getting stronger in these two years. The keeper is not something that could be touched easily, likely to be killed."

"There's two things that we could be sure about. First, they are likely to be linked with the Old Religion. Second, they were definitely not purely human."

"Old Religion?"

"Purely human?"

Quincy opened a book and showed a symbol. A large snake was circling a large tree.

"This tree was known as the tree of knowledge. Thousands of years ago, there was a group that worshiped it saying it was a gift from God to humans and the snake here represents the messenger from God to interpret the knowledge and deliver it into humans. This religion were called Old religion nowadays, hidden by the eyes of the world"

Mona lost in her thought but then she was more curious about the not purely human thing. She shed away the thought of the Old Religion and ask Quincy again with a serious voice. Quincy exhales before replying to Mona.

"Our shadows have caught one of their followers, but they killed themselves. Before he died, a crack sound was heard and there a round stone appeared from its head. After the stone turn to ashes so do the death body"

"The philosopher's stone? One small stone, needs hundreds of human souls. And there's no large cases since the fire break twenty years ago"

"What if the stone was not from human souls?"

"Quincy?"
