Gate: War Of Two Worlds

The convoy has been going very slow. With all of the wagons and the amount of people being escorted, it is like a massive traffic jam. Major Sharpe plan is to help these refugees get to a safe location, away from the village the dragon destroyed. However, it is taking far longer than planned and he is concerned that the dragon will appear soon.

As the wagon convoy moves, Sharpe can't help himself from looking at the mirror, with the angel towards the back of the JLTV. In the mirror, he sees that young girl. Alicia told him she called herself Selina.

That is when over the radio, Second Lieutenant Johnson will call out. "This is Vanguard-7 Alpha, contacting Vanguard-7 Lead, over."

Sharpe would notice Johnson urgency in his voice. However though, this could just be a regular update like last time when a wagon broke down. He will look away from the girl Selina and picked up the radio. "This is Vanguard-7 Lead; I am reading you."

There is a short delay in the reply.

"What the hell is that?" Steele will ask as he leans forward.

"Sir, we have a bogie, I think the dragon..." Then the radio will go silent.

"Johnson…!?" Sharpe yells at his radio. But then they will all see a large fireball up front of the convoy. The dragon wiped out many wagons. As they watch the giant inferno, they hear .50 caliber fire coming up front.

Steele speak first. "I think they are still alive." His voice sounds like he is struggling to speak

That is when they see the massive dragon that fly pass, letting out another breath of fire burning everything in its path.

As all four of them stare out the window at the blazing inferno, Sharpe will point to his left to an open field. "Steele, head to the open. We have to draw the dragon away from the convoy."

The JLTV will get off the road as Sharpe reach for the radio. "Alicia, grab the Stinger." He will say in a clam tone.

"Roger Major." She says and go into the back of the JLTV and grab the anti-air weapon.

Sharpe will talk into the radio, hoping his order will reach Johnson. "Vanguard-Alpha, head to the plain. We need to draw the dragon into the open. Vanguard Bravo, get the Javelin ready." Vanguard-Bravo is the teams supply vehicle. They carry the team extra supplies and heavy weapons. He will get a confirmation from Bravo team lead Sergeant Marvin Scott.

The JLTV moves off the road and into the nearby plains. The vehicle is bouncing around right now from the rough terrain. He gets out of his seat and head into the back. He will open the hatch that's on the ceiling of the vehicle. He then opens it once it is unlocked.

"Move aside dear." Alicia will say to Selina. She moves to Sharpe and begin to hand him the Stinger.

Sharpe will grab the weapon from her but then look over to the little girl. The vehicle will bounce a little as they circle around the plains. They all hear the dragon roar in the background as the beast lands on the ground. She seems to be scared of the situation, a natural reacting for anyone.

"It's alright kid." He will take off his helmet and hand it to her. She takes it and place it on her head, like how she seen them before.

He then moves up the hatch. He will then see .50 caliber fire from the other JLTV, creating a distraction.

Seeing the wagons on fire and the people that got caught in the strike screaming as they burn to death. Rory sits up from the wagon she was sitting in. Her eyes wide open trying to figure out what she can do to stop this.

Looking up she sees the massive legendary Flame Dragon. She has never seen it before, only stories. The legend says that's nothing can beat it, nothing can kill it. All it leaves behind is ash and death.

Rory jump off the wagon she was riding on. She looks out and then notices these strange soldiers attacking the dragon.

She standing there watching these strange warriors fight the dragon in their metal horses. Watching as they fire these loud rapid arrows from their wagons. It is clear though that whatever weapons they are using isn't having any effect.

All the refugees around her are panicking but also watching the fight. She will look over to her left and see the other bigger metal horse and two of these strange soldiers come out with this long looking tube.

The two strange looking soldiers are yelling at the people around them to get back and give them some room. She sees that as strange.

She will look back to the battle. From one of the metal wagons, this massive arrow looking weapon came from one of them horses and head straight to the dragon.

The dragon moves away but the large arrow would follow it, amazing magical ability. But then the dragon would use its fire breath to destroy it.

"Hmmm..." Rory will think. She then looks over to the two soldiers. "Hey, can your magic arrows kill the beast?"

One of them looks over to her. "Aww... I don't know kill, that thing is huge. But it will do some serious damage. But it seems that it will just destroy the missile before it hits."

She will smile. "Leave that to me." She realizes that the dragon just needs to be distract enough for the 'missile' arrow to hit. She will then pull out her halberd and charge down and into the battle.

"Damn... Alicia, we have another missile?" Sharpe will come down from the opening.

"Ahhh… yeah, just one." She says nervous now. Pull out the last missile out of the box and hands it to him.

Sharpe take it and think. "Steele, slow down for a second, you contact Bravo to fire when I distract it."

Before Alicia could say anything, Sharpe would open the back door and jumps out. He would roll around on the ground and recover himself "Ahhh... f.u.c.k... that was not smart at all." He then looks down at his leg and it will be cut deep from the ground.

He will quickly craw over to the stringer launcher and load the missile into it. He gets on one knee and aim at the dragon.

The dragon currently is facing away as bullets from the other JLTV be firing at it. He then pulls the trigger and fire the missile will unleash, heading towards the dragon bastard.

Then the dragon will waive its tail, creating a large wing blast. The missile will explode before hitting the dragon because of the wind blast, hurting the dragon from the shrapnel. The dragon lets out a painful roar and then release another long fire breath all over the ground. It would be coming close to Sharpe position.

"O shit..." Sharpe says as he falls back on his a.s.s, not really able to go anywhere. He closes his eyes from the heat as the blast gets closer. The blast will go right by him, the heat would be intense.

The fire breath goes out and then Sharpe look around, confused on what just happen. As he looks up and around, he sees right in front of him is this strange looking field or shield around him. It looks like some kind of magical field from some fantasy game or film. Either way it just saved him from burning to death.

The shield will disappear, and he looks behind him and see this blue hair girl in this green dress while holding this staff. Both her and the staff are glowing, clearing she did some kind of magic something that saved his life.

Shocked and confused, Sharpe looks back at the dragon and hear it roar. He will see the FGM-148 Javelin missile from Vanguard-Bravo team flying through the air. It was getting close but then the dragon would notice it and prepare to breath fire at it. But then this halberd would hit the dragon from the side.

That would distract the Dragon long enough for the missile to hit it in the arm. A large explosion would accrue, and the right arm of the dragon would come off. The dragon will scream in massive pain and would fly up and away, with the will to fight gone.

Sharpe start to laugh, can't believe that they actually beat the bastard. He hears someone walk up beside him. He looks over and see this other looking girl.

She would look to be twelve or thirteen, just a kid. She is in this black dress with red frills, black stockings supported with garters and a red boot. She must be the one that threw that weapon. What a strange world this is.

Sharpe slowly gets up, leaning on his good knee. "Thank you miss for the help, you're a brave young girl."

Sharpe then looks to the blue hair girl. "And thank you for saving my life."

She will lick her lips and smile. "I am actually over nine hundred years old. But hey, thank you. You and your people were the brave ones here though. Rory Mercury."

"And I am happy to assist strange sir. My name is Lelei La Lalena." Lelei says.

Both JLTV drives up to them and they get out of the vehicles.

"Major Sharpe." Sharpe say to both of them. "No, we were just doing our duty." Sharpe will say, speaking a little weakly.

Alicia walks up first. Before Sharpe could say anything, she would slap him in the face. "Never do that again sir or I swear I am going to kill you myself." She will say angerly.

"...ouch... you know I could court martial you for that." Sharpe will say.

She will point right at his face. "I dare you to. Now get in the jeep."

--- 33 minutes later ---

Vanguard-7 would be gathering together on the road, taking notes of the damage. Sharpe is currently sitting on the back of the wagon as the team medic, Sergeant Jerry Williams treat his leg.

The town mayor is there to. He would explain that they lost about a hundred civilians and tons of supplies. "I thank you for the help soldiers. But it cannot be helped."

"So, you are just going to abandon these people?" Sharpe will ask back, not thrilled by the recent proposal.

With the amount of dead and destruction, the Mayor wants to abandon the ones who can't take care of themselves will be left behind to save the rest.

"We have no choice, anyone who doesn't have a wagon has to find their own way. We do not have the means to transport everyone anymore. If the dragon comes back, we will all die." The mayor explains.

Sharpe thinks, not liking what he is hearing. He was about to say something, wanting to chew him out and lecture him about responsibility. But right then a sharp pain would accrue in his wounded leg. Jerry would be treating it and clearly applied pain to prevent him from speaking freely.

The mayor will thank them for protecting them and walk away. After a little time, Lieutenant Johnson would walk over. He wouldn't be alone, that Rory girl would walk over to and then the blue hair girl name Lelei.

Rory will speak first. "What is happening?" She will say all happy and confident.

They all will look to Sharpe for an answer.

Sharpe hops off the wagon and look around. He sees all the remaining family members; many are parentless children or just families with nothing. Based on what he just saw, leaving them would result in certain death. There is no way he could accept that. "We are heading back to base. All of us. Rangers, gather up and roll out."

"You think command would allow that?" Johnson would ask, speaking freely.

"Not if we tell them. But we are not abandoning anyone. Get ready to leave in five." Sharpe quickly responds.

Johnson and the other under his command will salute him and then head out to get everyone ready to leave in their vehicles.

The two girls would about to walk away. Sharpe walks over to ask the blue hair lady to say for a minute. "Thank you again for saving me."

"Ahh... yeah. I saw you all fighting, and I did not want to sit on the sidelines." She will hold her staff close. Her tone seems like she is a bit shy, but her voice seems cold.
