“What about me?”, Emma suddenly asked. She wanted to see how her boyfriend’s team would deal with the seemingly evil situation. Moreover, she felt that it would be safer to be with her boyfriend. It was a woman’s sudden premonition.

Allen covered Emma’s small hands hooking his neck with his big hand and rubbed the smooth skin softly in silent.

But Emma didn’t give up and stared at Peter. It made Peter really felt troublesome. That wasn’t in his plan.

Peter doubted they would drag down their performance if he allowed them to go together with them. However, he also considered that the town didn’t seem safe enough to leave them alone. After all, he had to think about sudden accidents. No situation will still remain according to the plan after all. But still, he wanted to ask clearly.

“Give me a reason.”

“Do you need a reason?”, Emma pouted.

But Peter didn’t eat her acting cute at all. He calmly stared at her and said, “I need a reason. This is not a trip to playground. If accidents happened, some people will die for sure.”

Emma rolled her eyes and said, “I don’t feel safe here at all. Is this enough? Leave my Allen with me or bring us too.”

For sure, the thing he didn’t want to hear happened. Peter felt that he had no reason to refuse. He nodded and said, “Then, you can come along. But, you must stay with your guards and must not drag down our action.”

Peter paused and thought about something for a moment before he continued.

“I will give your guards something good later so they can protect you better.”

Emma smiled cheerfully as she succeeded her small calculation. At the next moment, Peter said something and it made her quiet down. But still, rolling eyes and occasional smirks showed that she was still happy.

“If you made something bad for our action, I will let Allen escort you back to your parents. Don’t make sneaky actions girl, you should understand that somethings couldn’t be done.”

At the other side, things were not very going well. A large group of nearly a thousand people gathered together in front of a ranch mightily. It was just a normal looking ranch full of yellowish crops. After losing nearly a hundred people during the past days, they had decided to stop searching.

Since they lost several cops and clergies from local Bright Church, they didn’t dare to go into the evil ranch anymore. Although it still looked normal under their eyes, they felt that the ranch at the front seemed to be scarier than the most popular haunted house they had ever visited. The haunted house may be very scary but this one here simply takes away lives in silent.

The leading bearded man with square face in typical cowboy suit narrowed his eyes and silently stared at the simple looking ranch. But as a person who also participated in second round of searching, he understood that the ranch in front of him was not easy. He still wished that there could be some highly dangerous wanted criminals who killed the missing people and the owners of ranch. Otherwise, he might have to quit his job and leave this homeland in sadness.

He was Benny Robbin, the sheriff of the town. After unknowingly losing several capable officers under his hand during the past three days, he couldn’t remain calm anymore. The most troublesome thing was that they had entirely lost contact with outside world. The best thing about being a government worker is one has a big background and has a solid background to rely on. However, when he lost it, Benny felt that he might not be able to solve the highly dangerous thing by himself.

“Throw the fire rods. Let the fire purify this ranch.”, the bearded sheriff shouted while waving his hand.

The men holding the fire rods threw the rods in their hands to the designated places. These places were poured with gasoline beforehand in fear that they would fail to set the ranch on fire.

The fire started to burn strongly with the support of gasoline. Gentle breezes brought the burning flavor to the noses of the crowd carefully watching at this all happening.

These people were no joke. Major were men and a very small part of them were women. The point was the guns in their hands. Almost everyone was holding long or short gun tightly. As people who grew up in this place, almost all of them knew with each other. This also included many people who went missing in searching into this ranch during the previous days.

At first, they still had hopes but it ended directly after they searched again with more people. It was not because they found some badly butchered corpses of the people they were familiar with. It was because they simply found nothing. Yes, they found nothing. But some more people went missing again during that action. After that, they were greatly scared and stopped thinking about going into this evil ranch. More incredible thing was nothing would happen to the ranches nearby. It also made them easier to make preparation to seal the fire only in the evil ranch in the middle.

Time slowly passed as the fire continued to spread. Finally, the whole ranch was burned down to black burnt lands full of ashes and remains.

“That is?”

“Do you also think that everything went so smoothly?”

“I think the culprits might have already fled from this place.”

“What you talking about? It would be more dangerous for us if the dangerous things in this ranch ran out.”

“Calm down, guys. Things might not be like that as we all thought.”

Looking at the chattering crowds, bearded sheriff Benny transferred his attention from the black land to one of the kid under his hand and asked, “Have you seen something unusual?”

The young officer was manipulating a drone and shook his head, “No, I didn’t find anything strange. During the whole period, not even a single bird came out.”

“Not even a single living creature came out? That was strange…”, bearded Benny rubbed his beard and murmured slowly while watching at some men walking into the already burned down ranch.

Suddenly, his eyes shrunk and shouted anxiously, “Guys, come back quickly!”

He grabbed the rifle from his subordinate beside him and hurriedly aimed at the target. The other people who noticed the unusual atmosphere also carefully looked at the direction where Sheriff Benny was aiming at. They gasped and started to shouted to recall or remind the several men who were already almost at the middle of the black land.

“Go back and start the cars right now. Go back, go back.”, many men reminded the others who weren’t that good at shooting as them. They wanted to make sure that they could be able to retreat successfully if they wouldn’t be able to deal with the mysterious enemies.

As for their targets…

A moment ago, several men greeted the nearby guys to go to the already burned down black land and search the remains or to figure out the situation. Of course, they wouldn’t just simply go with empty handed. In their hands, there were long guys, or exactly double barrelled shotguns which could kill a male adult deer in one round. However, their enemies were not the same as clueless animals.

One after another pairs of pale bluish hands broke out the soft soils and appeared in sight of careful people. There were not noticeable in the environment full of black ashes and burned black land. However, Benny’s anxious shout made everyone at the scene to become focus and let them notice these strange hands.

As for what Benny saw, it was a black coffin which mysterious stood up from the place of burned house where ranch owners used to live.
