“What the heck happened?”, Ronald muttered as he watched at the pale bluish figures at the distance through his sniper scope. Small black spots made them looked like pale blue. The ones with denser black spots on them were already looking somewhat black. As for the original people with black skin tone, they seemed to not have any changes.

Ronald looked at the dead indifference faces and these corpses like people walking towards their direction in normal pace like normal humans and felt horrible. Although nothing seemed wrong these people except their abnormal skin tone and indifference faces, Ronald’s instincts were telling him that a big danger was coming ahead. Unfortunately, due to the distance of nearly five hundred meters between the two parties, he couldn’t observe the real situation clearly.

Peter beside him also had the same trouble. He took back the scope into his space ring and turned to look at Ben with inquiries. They knew that there was nothing good in the crowd ahead but they were not sure whether there would still be a way to save the victims or not. Strangely, they suddenly found out themselves in a dilemma. Once they started to take action, everyone would become enemies and they would die. At that time, it wouldn’t matter whether the victims could still be saved or not.

Two minutes passed, the strange crowd at the distance was still coming towards them but the distance between them already had became closer to around four hundred meters.

Pa! Pa! Pa! ….

Suddenly, Ronald started shooting. Ben gestured them to get ready. The crowd didn’t disperse. They just formed two three-men rows on each side of Ronald who was squatting in the middle of the dirt road.

Since Ronald shot, they decided to not think about follow-up responsibilities for the moment.

In the distance, the marching crowd in abnormal state was proceeding forward in normal pace. With their movement, the dark cloud above and the abnormal atmosphere full of dark mists also moved forwards with them.

Many of these guys were still holding the long and short weapons. Their skins were full of small pale black spots. Their eyes became fully dark. If one can look carefully, they would noticed the black blood covering the whole eyeballs resulting in fully dark eyes without pupil, iris nor white sclera. Although there was nothing wrong with them except these, they were in fact already dead.

In the middle of the cursed corpses, a big black coffin was floating at the air, a feet from the ground and moving along with the crowd. Black mists were surrounding the coffin and creating a mysterious atmosphere. That was what Ronald accidentally saw. So, he started shooting. Anyways, there was nothing good with black mists in his knowledge.

20mm armor piercing special bullets blasted the heads of corpses on his path and proceeded towards the big black coffin. The corpses hit by the bullet on the way turned into black ashes instantly. But, the coffin was not damaged. The three bullets didn’t even leave a trace on the coffin. They hit the coffin and bounced off weakly as if they were just like peanuts thrown by a kid.

Ronald who saw this scene was greatly horrified and stood up. His sudden action attracted the attention of other people. Ronald made several gestures and started to retreat along the dirt road.

‘You started. We decided to do it and then you told me to retreat?’

The guys were greatly confused but they were not stupid enough to just stand there in place. So, they also turned around and ran after Ronald who was running away like a rabbit in the front. As for what exactly happened, they also thought of a few things while running.

The marching corpses at the distance was still moving forward in a normal pace. The coffin or the unknown existence in the coffin didn’t even seem to be bothered by the sudden attack. However, another corpses walked out from the crowd in the back into the positions of the corpses turned into black ashes by purification holy bullets.

 

At the distance, Peter and his guys stopped running and took off their helmets. They wanted to communicate and ask Ronald about what exactly happened. Of course, they were still walking forward in a fast pace.

“Those guys are all dead. I don’t know why they could move but I am sure that they are all dead people. Their eyes are full of black blood. Some of them even got black blood tears on their faces. That abnormal pale bluish skin was formed by small black spots. Of course, our purification holy bullets can easily eliminate them. In the middle of them, there is a black coffin surrounded by black mists. I don’t know it released the mists or not but that coffin was surrounded by black mists. But the problem is my attacks didn’t do any damage to that coffin. That's why I started running away.”

“Black mists? Is that another abyss invasion?”

“Fuck! It seems that those people were already dead. I don’t think they could still be saved after contacting with black mists.”

“I don’t think these black mists are the same as the ones we saw in Cerriro town.”

“Similar or not, they are highly dangerous. I don’t know if our armors can resist those black mists.”

Peter glanced at Mark who asked the last question speechlessly and said, “Do you want to try it yourself?”

Mark shook his head and said, “I said I was just wondering.”

Peter looked at Ben and said firmly, “I don’t know what kind of existence was there but we must quickly evacuate the residents of that town. Otherwise, things would become a big trouble.”

“Why do you think so?”, asked Ben.

“I don’t know but something in my head is constantly telling me to stay away from that dark atmosphere. It makes me feel disgusts just from looking.”

Peter felt regretted that he didn’t prepare a good vehicle for them to use in armor state. Moreover, it would also take at least five or ten minutes to take off the armors. But they got no time to do that.

Peter suddenly realized something and asked Ronald, “Wait a second! Did you say that your attack didn’t cause any damage to that coffin?”

When he saw Ronald’s confirmation nod, Peter thought for several seconds and talked about his guess.

“The source of this sudden disaster is probably that black coffin. Since 20mm can’t damage it, that must be a tier two at least. Of course, we don’t know if the attacks were stopped by the black mists or the coffin. But I think the latter did it. If that’s true, we are probably in a big trouble.”

Ben stopped him and said calmly, “Stop talking. You better contact the church fast so they could know what’s happening here and reinforcements can come earlier.”

Meanwhile in the town, Emma got out of the car and hurriedly rushed into the retail store. After a while, she came out with several megaphones.

Emma kept one and gave the rest to her guards.

“Do it according to the plan. Five minutes later, we will gather in front of the restaurant we ate this noon.”, said Emma. The men nodded and left with the three off-road vehicles. Emma was left behind with two men and an off-road vehicle. Her plan was simple. She was going to let her guards inform the town’s residents to leave quickly before the evil things arrived. Although she got no idea about what was that evil thing, she believed that her boyfriend’s team would joke on things like that.

Emma opened the megaphone and started to talk,

“Attention please! Attention please! All residents of the town who heard this, you have to immediately leave this town right now. The group who went to solve the evil ranch met sudden misfortune and that evil is coming towards here. We have no time and must leave right now.”

“Attention! Evil things from that evil ranch are coming to us. We have to leave this place right now.”

Nearby residents who heard the news were greatly horrified. But some people didn’t believe it. After all, over a thousand fully armed people went to that place.
But, other three off-road vehicles were also driving around the town and shouting the same thing with megaphones. For a time, the town housing nearly twenty thousands residents fell into turmoil.
