Chapter 14 - Preparation to start the play

After saying their goodbyes, it was just Yun Long and Xiao Ying on the way back and when they had reached the first town, Yun Long asked "Broda, hidey… place", which was his way of asking to go to a quiet area.

Xiao Ying just simple smiled at his younger brother and decided to go out to the forest nearby, however the next thing that happened would make him question his sanity.

"Elder Brother Ying, I need to discuss something with you" said an imm.a.t.u.r.e voice.

Xiao Ying instantly constricted and shouted towards the surrounding "Who is there, show yourself instead of being a spineless coward" shouted an agitated Xiao Ying

"Aiya… elder brother how can you call your precious Long'er a spineless coward" the imm.a.t.u.r.e voice rang in his head again, with an amused tone.

Startled Xiao Ying looked at the child in his hold, and noticed the particular glow in his eyes, however before he could make a comment the voice rang out once more "Elder Brother, to make a long story short, within the next few days, the people that were chasing father and mother will find you to get information about them, and you will die under an assassination".

Xiao Ying, who was already speechless at the fact that his baby brother had someone managed to talk for one, the fact that he can send mental messages, or the fact that he is some kind of seer?

"To quell your confusion, I will tell you my most important secret...." Yun Long said.

"Big Brother, this my second life, in my first life, I had lived to the age of 30 before I was killed, and have been sent back in time and restarted my life" Yun Long decided to lie, although his having a second life really wasn't a lie, just the part regarding him being 30 is just some nonsense he created from the backstory of the original timeline.

At this point Xiao Ying was lost for words 'Reincarnation, Time travel? Are such things really possible?'

Any sane man would ask such questions, even a cultivator, after all such things were so mystical and mythical so it would be such a surprise even to those in a magical world.

Yun Long taking a page out of his Father-in-Law, the Creator's page, just simply replied "Mn, at first I didn't think such things were possible, until I learnt them from my master during my reincarnation".

"Anyways Big Brother, in my first life you had been assassinated on the way back from the Xia Clan, and no matter what, I cannot change this fact…" Yun Long paused, "However, whilst I cannot change the events, I can change the outcome"

At this statement Xiao Ying was confused 'Isn't the only outcome death? An assassination can only be considered a success with a kill' he thought a little sad that his death was coming so soon.

Yun Long carried on reading his thoughts and replying so his mystical image was even greater "Big Brother, I wish for you to enact a play and throw Xuanyuan Wendao off guard, in my previous life because you didn't succ.u.mb to the torture that he put you through, he didn't bother going after the Xiao clan since he felt that you would have told anyone the information about my parents with the amount of suffering you had went through, so I need you to follow my plan, understood?"

After a while, Xiao Ying just sighed "Long'er, if fate has decided to end my path, then so be it, it is too dangerous to be tampering in such things"

But Yun Long harshly rebuked by saying "Elder Brother, because of your death your wife died within a few days because of depression, adopted mother fell within a year because of her grief, whilst adopted father looked like he had aged 40 years within a day, and I had been brought up as the crippled son of the fallen genius, cursed to be bullied and mocked for my whole childhood, before they expelled me out the clan so that they could cancel my wedding with Xia Qingyue when it was exposed that I wasn't a son of Xiao"

Xiao Ying c.h.e.s.t violently heaved at the very moment, when he had heard all the information that his younger brother just said, all he could think about is a visualisation of each event, how his wife died without living her life, wanting to join him, how his mother slowly passed away, the grief clearly taking its toll on her otherwise beautiful countenance, how his Father seemed like a general who had lost too much on the battlefield, but the one image that hurt him the most was the disappointed faces of his adopted parents when they learnt of how poorly the son they entrusted him with had been brought up.

After panting for a while, in a hoarse voice he just stated, "Long'er, although I would like to know more, I understand what we must do, tell me your plan".

Yun Long who had been peacefully watching the situation, did not change his expression when he started to explain exactly how they were going to play Xuanyuan Wendao, fate, destiny, death, and any other f*cker that wanted to ruin their family.

"Elder Brother, the first thing I will be doing is crippling you…" Xiao Ying eyebrows just twitched, however he carried on listening.

"Forgive me brother, however, even with the treasures I have, I am still a 6 month child, so I can only bring you an escape, however I know that Xuanyuan Wendao will first incapacitate you, then torture you for information…" Yun Long paused before he explained his plan.

"You have to enact the play, to trigger key words which will allow Xuanyuan Wendao to know that even if he went to the Xiao Clan, it would be a fruitless endeavour, and also since mother and father are safe, you need to leave a hint before 'committing suicide' which is the point where I will use my heavenly treasure to teleport you…"

"Brother, one thing you need to know is that once this event is over, I will be placing you in a treasure known as the Coffin of Eternity, and later in the week I will find your wife and also place her in there with you, as both of you have to 'die' for the timeline not to be affected too much, however know this, both of you will still be alive and time will not change for you, but the time I will recover you from the coffin is when I find my birth parents".

Xiao Ying who was digesting the information, was somewhat sad, as he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep his promise with his adopted parents and watch over his younger brother while he grows up and that his parents will still have some grief, however for the better future he was willing to do whatever it took to secure that!
