Chapter 17 - Want a sister?

Xiao Clan, Floating Cloud City

[A/N: Original Characters... ish? Hua Mei is the nameless mother of Xiao Lingxi, Li Qin is the nameless wife of Xiao Ying]

The Fifth elder and his wife Hua Mei were currently finishing up their dinner with their daughter in law Li Qin when a messenger had barged through the door

"Fifth elder, a tragedy has occurred, the news has been spread that your son Xiao Ying had suffered the attack of assassins on his journey back from the Xiao Clan, and lost his life, just several days after the news spread that he had assisted and saved the life of Clan Master Xia new-born child"

As soon as the messenger completed his speech, the clatter of kitchen equipment could be heard, Li Qin taking it the hardest as she had directly fainted when she heard the news, fortunately Xiao Lie had managed to catch her in her falling, however he too had to muster all the strength he could from dropping to the floor himself.

He looked towards as wife, who looked as if her soul had left her body, tears running along her cheeks, he brought his daughter in law to the bedding, and ordered the idiotic messenger to ask for the nurse, not before asking "Wait…"

At this pause, Xiao Lie was hoping the answer to the next question he was about to ask was not what he feared it was, otherwise he believed he might not have the heart to continue to keep his mind "Long'er… What happened to Long'er, he was with Ying'er was he not?"

To which the messenger replied with "According to the reports, a mysterious Spirit Profound senior had found the encounter that was Xiao Ying, on his last breaths against the assassins and he had eliminated the assassins and brought Xiao Long with him to the Xia Clan at the behest of Xiao Ying's final words, asking for the seniors help to preserve his safety".

Xiao Lie who heard the news and his wife Hua Mei who had been paying full attention to the conversation after she heard her husband utter the word Long'er, both started crying, thinking that even in this terrible situation there was one saving grace in the fact that Long'er had faced this tribulation and managed to survive.

Xiao Lie just wiped his tears and stated "Mei, I will personally retrieve Long'er, forgive your husband for being useless and leaving you alone at this time, however I need you to be strong for Qin'er' to which Hua Mei just nodded

Somewhat calming down, when Hua Mei was waiting for the news for about her Long'er, her heart was pounding so hard, as she was praying to the heavens to not hear any bad news, although she was still in extreme grief over the death of her son, she decided to be strong for her Daughter-in-Law and her Long'er.

After Xiao Lie had returned from the Xia Clan with Yun Long, he was thinking about the conversation he had with Xia Hongyi, who had explained all the details that had occurred since Xiao Ying had visited, although he knew that his adopted child was a little monster, he had not thought he had actual abilities that were available to be in use…

However, that didn't really worry him, what worried him was the fact that Xiao Ying had accepted the proposal that the Xia Clan little girl will be his daughter in law when she turns 16.

Although he acted oblivious, he too had understood the somewhat dangerous feeling his wife had when it came to this child, ever since that damn old crone had tried to force Long'er to be his disciple just due to his countenance, his wife has become extremely over protective of this child.

No seriously, this was an actual issue, to the point where the only other time she allowed him outside the clan was just now with his elder brother… he sighed thinking about his son, and the fate that awaited his eldest adopted child.

Yun Long who was examining his adopted father, decided to distract him a little with cheeky intention "Fada…Longa.. wan…sista" with a bright smile.

If Xiao Lie wasn't already sweating bullets, Long'er didn't know the circ.u.mstances but whilst they looked like the perfect couple... matters are not as they always seem...

'After all I made my mistake… for her to even be willing to i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.e herself will be one thing… she still doesn't allow me to touch her since that incident… even if it was for Long'er I doubt she would allow such a thing'

"Long'er, whilst I would love to be able to agree to your request, we must leave such things to fate! However if you truly wish for this to happen, you have to directly ask your mother yourself!"

Following the coward's route, he left the responsibility on a child whose age had not even reached 7 months, if someone were to see Xiao Lie right now this may become one of his most shameful displays...

Yun Long who was amused at his adopted father's so-called heroics and was happy that he managed to distract him whilst also anticipating the birth of who he thought would be his main mission in this life, Xiao Lingxi, otherwise known as the Ancestral God.

A few days later...

Once Xiao Lie had returned, he quickly escaped from his wife who took Long'er from him as if she had found the missing piece of her soul, while she was crying whilst squeezing Yun Long onto her mountains.

Said culprit was just enjoying the 'peaceful' time with his adopted mother, as he knows that it will only go downhill from this point on, and he happened to see the b*stard that was meant to be his adoptive father escape as if he was currently in a life-threatening situation.

To divert the incoming humiliation, he dropped the bomb "Mommy, Longa wan shista".

Hua Mei who heard her darling Long'er utter his first words from his traumatic experience froze, with her current relationship how can she ever give birth to another child?

Yet something in her thoughts just changed. Just imagining the disappointed face painted on his pristine face made Hua Mei's heart crack, but if it was for her Long'er she would do whatever she could to see that smile that could bring down countries.

"Hmm, although mommy has to work hard, mommy promises that Long'er will have a baby sister ok?" she concluded with an expectant expression on her face.

'Ugh, this damn woman still wants to humiliate me'

Hua Mei looked at her Long'er as she started tearing up "However you have to promise to never leave me... okay my dear? If you leave mother as well... I do not know whether I will have the strength to not follow you my dear..."

Looking at her face that induced pity Yun Long silently muttered in his mind 'Sorry for not being able to tell you the truth... Mother'

For Yun Long to speak with his soul and call her mother showed how much she truly weighed in his heart, but he would never admit it to her.

Although he thought sadly at the fact that he was lying to her, and he could remove her grief by telling her the truth, she decided, he produced the purest smile he could, saying "Long'er.. love mommy, mommy besht".

Li Qin was just silently watched her Mother-in-Law whose brain had already overloaded, whilst she herself was contemplating whether she should join her late husband

"Qin'er, look after Long'er for a while, I need to discuss with your Father-in-Law to fulfil Long'er wish".

Li Qin who was in her own sorrowful world, started to blush by what she just heard from her Mother-in-Law, how can she be so open with such conversations? Was she going to discuss that because little Long'er wanted a sister it was almost a sacred order that had to be carried out?

What Li Qin failed to realise was that Hua Mei did treat it like a sacred order!

To run away from the situation, she just nodded and took little Long'er into her personal courtyard to go to sleep.

In the distance she could her the tigress that is Hua Mei shouting "Xiao Lie, come out for this Old Lady, my Long'er has said his wish and we need to discuss it".

A certain Xiao Lie wanted to cry but had no tears, as he was grabbed by his collar and dragged to his impending doom as he just sighed as his impending fate.
