Harry Potter And The Dual Lord

Chapter 10 - Diagon Alley

Arthur looked at his father in the eyes and said "Honestly that vampire king is supposedly immortal, so he has been living for a very long time, so Cinderella mustn't be his only daughter, but one amongst tens or even hundreds.

The reason he cares for her is her potential, if she lives then she would probably make vampires get a much better position in the world. I don't know how they are seen by wizards but I guess they are persecuted, right?"

Nat nodded and said "They are seen as less than humans, just like werewolves." Arthur nodded "So back to that king, he of course won't be happy with only ten people going after his daughter, he wants her to live.

That's why he must have chosen representative from other races. But why would they even help the king? That's why only vampires will be the other contestants for Cinderella's hand."

Henry scratched his forehead and asked "Then where is the problem?"

Arthur sighed and said "Okay, vampires were a part of that evil wizard army, right?? Then they must be powerful if we had to make a deal with them. As for that king, he most probably picked his best fighters to pursue his daughter.

But that's not all. You said before that she was the most beautiful girl there exists. So I'm quite sure a lot of vampires fell in love with her. And if they love her, do you think they will let other snatch her?"

Nat nodded and said "I see your thinking. Those strong vampires will try to kill you if you approach their dearest princess." Arthur nodded and continued "But I can't disobey the law, I'm not strong enough yet. And I don't particularly care about having a wife, so I'll simply accept the request."

Henry blinked and asked "Why? I don't understand, I can't follow you two…" Nat rolled her eyes and said "Gryffindors…"

Henry internally laughed at that but didn't show anything as he wasn't supposed to know what this means.

Henry's face scrunched but Arthur simply said "It's simple. I will take a neutral side. Of course I will follow the law, but I will simply meet her the least possible and make my stand known. Although I will 'pursue' her, I won't be a challenge."

Nat smiled and said "How smart you are, you are most certainly going to be a Ravenclaw, just like your mom." This time Henry sighed and said "You really are too intelligent son, I can't deny that you took that from your mother. But I know that you are going to be a Gryffindor like me, you are courageous!"

Arthur rolled his eyes and said "I don't even know what your talking about but I can already tell that it's some boring kind of competition that is used to ignite the competitive mind of students."

The two parents smiled and said "Don't worry, you will learn about this in due time. But first, open that other letter, there will be everything you need listed there. Then we will go buy everything and lastly, we will make a trip to the vampires place, so that you meet the girl."

Arthur nodded and opened the second letter.

Arthur looked at his parents and said "That's a lot of things to have. Do we even have enough money to buy all of this?"

They smiled and said "Don't worry, we definitely have enough. Though if you have a magical way to earn enormous amounts of money then I wouldn't say no."

Arthur unexpectedly nodded and said "Well I do in fact. It's not magical but we could become very rich with a few years. After analyzing a few companies I found some worth investing into, and they could give amazing payback. We are talking about billions here."

The two looked at their son in shock. They had said that as a joke but they didn't expect him to have an answer. Henry sweated and said "Hey, it was a joke, we have more than enough money, don't worry. But if you're that confident then maybe we can invest a little in those companies."

Arthur smiled and said "Then I believe we can go, let's go buy those things I need."

Nat looked at Henry and said "Dear, please arrange a meeting with King Vlad while I go with Arthur to Diagon Alley."

Henry nodded and Nat said to Arthur "Hold my arm please." She handed out her arm. Arthur took it without hesitation and the world twisted.

The next instant he was in a colored alley with lots of shops, though they were strange looking. People were dressed in robes, some even flying on brooms.

Arthur suddenly felt sick and had to refrain himself from puking. Nat looked at him in amus.e.m.e.nt and said "That was apparition, a very useful spell that allows the wizard to go back to any place he has ever been to. The first time can get you sick."

Arthur looked at her with some anger "No shit." Nat looked at him and teasingly said "Language." Arthur rolled his eyes and looked around.

To be honest he was shocked by what he saw. He expected something unbelievably… magic? But he could never have imagined that the real thing would be so much better than what he originally imagined.

Nat ignored his state and said "Well first, let's go buy you your uniform. Then we will take you some books and maybe a pet if you are interested. We will take your wand last."

Before they moved Arthur asked "Mom, what a wand exactly?" Nat looked at him and said "It's a wooden stick made of rare materials that will mainly make you able to use magic."

Arthur frowned and asked "Then is it possible to use magic without a wand?" Nat nodded and said "Of course, but it's very difficult, only great wizards can do it, and only with spells they are very familiar with."

Arthur nodded but he still had doubts. Why would only the best wizards be able to do it? Children are able to do it. How?

It happened to a lot of children, including Arthur. They would unintentionally use their magic to change something.

Arthur had learned from Merlin that when children use magic before their mutation it comes from the remaining magic power coming from their parents blood.

That's why only children with wizards parents can do it. But Arthur was different. Although he probably would have been able to do it, he never used the magic coming from his parents as he had already mutated.

Of course that is ignoring the fact that he has been practicing light and darkness spells for several years already.

After that the mother and son pair visited a few shops and bought everything Arthur would need, putting them in a bottomless purse. Arthur was more and more amazed by the magical world.

Now, Arthur and Nat were standing in front of a particular shop, Ollivander's wand shop.
