Harry Potter And The Dual Lord

Chapter 14 - Extraordinary mind

Arthur was stunned by his mother's gall to make a vampire explode in front of the king. But after the smoke dissipated Arthur was relieved to see that the vampire didn't die, only was laying on the ground with charred skin. Well that could probably be worse for the vampire, disabled for life...

Henry took his wand out too, and his eyes turned as cold as ice as he looked at the vampires threatening to pounce on them.

But as everyone expected a big fight to happen, and Arthur was about to capture Elena, a voice yelled "STOP AT THIS INSTANT!"

The vampires drew back their claws in respect of their king but Nat and Henry didn't care, they kept their wand out. The vampire king may be as strong as Voldemort, they wouldn't blindly listen to him.

The king ignored the two parents and asked Arthur "Why did you make her suffer?"

Arthur looked at him in defiance and replied "Because you can't do anything to us, and it's not like I killed her."

The king frowned and said "There are anti-apparition wards in this castle." Arthur smiled and replied "This can't stop us. And we don't even need to escape."

As he said that he waved his wand once again and the light on the chains around Elena lit up in an even brighter light.

Everyone thought that Arthur was trying to harm her, but after a few breaths of time they could see the burn marks on Elena's skin disappear.

After an entire minute of waiting the chains disappeared and Elena got back up, any trace of injury having disappeared.

Elena looked at her body before turning to Arthur and saying "If I had used my wand you would have lost."

Arthur replied smugly "And in a real fight I would have killed you." Elena frowned and looked at him in anger before turning around and going back to where she came from. As she was about to disappear from the giant hall she turned and said "I'll have to train, soon. Once I'm done, I'll come find you and beat you."

Arthur shrugged and replied "Whatever, I'm destined to fight against ants in all cases." Elena looked at him in fury and shooted "You damn human!"

She ran out of the hall while Arthur looked back at the king and said "You have a lovely place, I hope I didn't make too bad of an impression. See you around."

Arthur walked to his bewildered parents and placed a hand on each of their shoulder. The three suddenly turned into black smoke and by the time the smoke disappeared, the three were standing outside the castle, in the forest.

Arthur looked at his parents and said "This is as far as I can go."

Henry nodded and took both of them in his apparition. The three appeared inside their house once again, and as soon as they arrived both Nat and Henry looked at their son, clearly waiting for answers.

Arthur smiled and said "Well, time for explanation. So, what do you want to know?"

Nat was the first to speak "Where did you learn those spells." Arthur shrugged and replied "I created them."

Like so, Arthur used all the lies he had prepared in case his parents were to ever see him launching such complicated spells.

In truth, although they looked almighty, Arthur knew that he wasn't as powerful as others could believe. First the lack of diversity in his spells is a weakness as he only knows spells that are using his elements.

The last question they asked was "What was that alternative you talked about?"

Arthur replied "I created a formation that was used to purify their blood. It is very difficult to use and costs a huge amount of magic. Even then I'm not sure I can destroy her seal with more power. But I made him see hope. As for you, why didn't you move when she attacked me?"

Nat said "She didn't have any intention of harming you, and we wouldn't anger the king because of a kid's quarrel. Especially with how strange that king is. I mean, to dress up as a butler?"

Arthur laughed but suddenly remembered something "Shit! I forgot, there's Harry's birthday tomorrow!"

Henry smiled and said "Fortunately we aren't as forgetful as you are." Arthur sighed in relief hearing him but the next part made him concerned.

"His family has taken him to a faraway place, because they couldn't deal with Hogwarts letters. It was fun to see."

Arthur frowned and asked "Then what about his birthday?" Henry shook his head and said "Unfortunately you will have to wait until you meet him at King's Cross."

Arthur shook his head and said "But what about his location? How is he going to go buy his school supplies? He doesn't have money or…"

Nat smiled and said "Don't worry, Hogwarts will send someone, they can't really ignore Harry. Now you have two days until we go to King's Cross, I advise you to focus on those books about our history rather than spells."

Arthur nodded and said "I'll go to my room then. And don't worry about the vampires, they aren't that angry. I think…"

Arthur shrugged and rushed to his room, impatient to read his books.

The day went by quickly and at night Arthur finally saw Merlin. Arthur assaulted him with multiple questions about vampires once he saw him.

In the end he asked "Do you know anything about their anatomy? I would probably need it." Merlin shook his head and replied "You need to capture a vampire and experiment on him by yourself. Dissection is quite fun actually."

Arthur blinked and said "Why didn't I think of it earlier? What an idiot… And about wands, I received one, do you know anything about them?"

Merlin replied "Well, I never held one in my hand, but before there were different kinds of Foci, it means tools used to channel magic. I used a staff myself. Those are very useful, but don't forget about wandless magic. If you rely too much on your wand then you will become a sitting duck once you lose it."

Arthur nodded and said "Master, I had my first fight today, against a vampire girl of my age. She had a perfect bloodline as they said." Merlin's eyes shined and asked "Those arrogant vampires, there weren't a lot of them back in my time. Still as fast?"

Arthur nodded and said "Yeah, but I used some of the spells I created. I mainly defeated her with black vortex and my chains."

Merlin laughed out and said "Isn't this a bit of an overkill against someone of your age?" Arthur shook his head and said "Nah, just before I used about half of my magic on their king, a peak level 1 being."

Merlin raised an eyebrow and asked "What did you do?" Arthur smiled and said "Well, to prove my strength and usefulness I used a purifying formation based on Lumos spells. I hurt him a bit."

Merlin nodded and said "Good, you didn't disappoint me. Anything else?" Arthur shook his head so Merlin said "Now, I believe not even that old geezer you will call headmaster will be able to bypass your mind shields. Or if he does he would need a long eye contact."

Arthur sighed and asked "Wasn't it too fast though? I mean, I worked only a few month on mind arts and already reached such a level."

Merlin frowned and said "You can be quite dumb sometimes. All those years of suffering tempered your will and mind. Your mind is already stronger than Dumbledore, you only needed to learn to control it.

Don't underestimate the advantage given by those years of suffering. Though it won't be as obvious for other subjects, you will still be seen as a genius in any kind of magic."

Arthur nodded and asked "I also learned something about me, apparently I am the great grandson of one of the biggest dark wizards of all time, Grindelwald."

Important to read!

Hey so I'm hesitating whether to write a harem story or not. You see I don't like harem stories, as the harem ruins the story most of the time.

But here I just can't choose on who should become his wife. I mean there are so many potential girls... Please let me known what you think I should do, and please explain your reasoning. If you just write 'Harem coz it's awesome' or 'No harem its bull,sh,it!' then you might as well not write anything as I won't even pay attention to the comment.
