Harry Potter: Rise Of The Serpent

Chapter 10 - The Hogwarts Express

(A few months later)

A young boy with incredibly attractive features could be seen walking through a crowded train station pushing a cart with a trunk on it. The boy had crimson red eyes that could capture the heart of whomever had the fortune of looking into them, plump red lips, and the silkiest white hair that had grown all the way to his b.u.t.t. He looked so attractive that if you didn't see him moving, you would think he was a doll. He was wearing black robes with golden trims that had various runes etched into the outside and inside of the robe.

Alastair: "It seems the attractiveness of your bloodline is no joke." I whispered in parseltongue to my life-long partner.

Ruby: "Even with my bloodline you shouldn't have become this attractive so quickly. Your vampire abilities also play a part in all this." She hissed back from her usual position, wrapped around her master's body underneath the robes.

I continued to look for the platform 9 3/4 as I thought back on all that I did after I came back from France. I was finally able to start draining my magic core again and it started growing. Now it was about the size of an average a.d.u.l.t wizard. I could now cast all the spells in the course books of Hogwarts as well as most of the ones in my family library. I found out that I'm mostly talented in spells having to do with snakes (which is to be expected for one reason or another) as well as spells based on the lightning element. Since there weren't many spells that used lightning I also started to create a few spells taking into account that very element. I even managed to get a better grasp on my Vampire and bloodline abilities. Now I could walk in sunlight without the ring though, it would be a bit uncomfortable so I still wore it. But my biggest accomplishment by far were the robes that I am wearing. I had enchanted them and etched very powerful and ancient runes onto them creating new abilities that would even make Dumbledore's eyes gleam with envy.

Alastair: "Interface, show me the stats on my robes."

Name: Robes of the Serpent King

Status: Adaptable

Material: Serpentine Devil scales

Abilities: Flight, Negating of low level spells, magical protection, self-cleaning, self-repairing, re-sizing, transfiguration (into other clothes), pockets with expansion charms.

Alastair: "Besides my wand, definitely my best work." I thought as I went over all the abilities of my new robes.

After a little bit of walking I finally saw a sign with the number 9 on it. I went to the third out of the four pillars that separated that platform from the others and ran through it. What greeted me was an amazing sight. A beautiful train which radiated powerful magic could be seen. A true work of art in every sense of the word. Whoever thought of using a train to get to Hogwarts was a f.u.c.k.i.n.g genius although,

Alastair: "I wonder why this train is the only 'muggle artifact' the wizard world was okay with?" I asked as I just shrugged my shoulder and continued walking.

Behind me, I could see a group of red heads entering the platform with a malnourished celebrity following them. I never understood how Harry couldn't see how much of a 'coincidence' it was that Hagrid disappeared without giving him instructions on how to get to the magical platform and then in his time of need he hears a family yelling something about muggles. I mean, how naive can one person be. Ohh well. Not like it was much of my business anyway.

I ignored the family as I boarded the train. I felt all the wizards and witches staring at me, thinking I didn't notice. I couldn't say I didn't like the staring. I was an attention whore, in my last life and in this one. I ignored the looks and walked to the very back of the locomotive, taking my seat as Ruby slithered out of one of the sleeves of my robes and rested herself around my neck as I used her body as a neck pillow when I leaned against the seat.

I then took out a book from my pockets and crossed my legs as I began to read a chapter about vampires and their culture, how their society worked and what privileges did those on the higher end on the caste system have that the lower people didn't. Over all it was a pretty interesting subject. There were still a few vampires that had been around for a few thousand years. Who knows how much knowledge they possess. These thousand year old vampires are among the oldest and most powerful beings in the world currently. Any one of them could fight against Dumbledore and not necessarily loose. These vampires had created their own country far beyond the reach of muggles and magicals alike. I would have to visit this country sooner or later to see what kinds of magic they have that are completely unknown to me.

Ruby: "You know, even if most people can't tell you're a vampire, people like Dumbledore will be able to tell with ease." The snake hissed as she noticed the book her young master was reading.

Alastair: "I know but I don't think he will do anything. No matter how twisted Dumbledore's ideals are he at least acts like he cares for equal rights among all races and he's a very good actor. I doubt he'd break his facade for a meager vampire such as myself." I told her, speaking in a most ancient form of parseltongue.

Ruby: "You are anything but 'meager'."

Alastair: "True, but Dumbledore won't be able to see anything as long as I keep my robes on. He'd have to tear through them in order to see my true power." I told her as I scratched her forehead and subconsciously rubbed my robes.

I had specifically given my robes the transfiguration ability so that they could transform into the Hogwarts robes and I'd still have all the defenses that I had imbued them with. It was like being protected by an entire castle and no one even knew.

It was then that the door to the compartment slid open and in came a younger red head with a malnourished boy with the fabled lightning scar. They took the seats in front of me without even asking. I guess it was the big ego that can with being a pubescent boy that made them so confident...well, Ron at least. Harry just seems to be following his lead.

Ron: "Hi, I'm Ron." The rude boy said as he extended his hand.

Alastair: "I'm Alastair. P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e." I say as I shake his hand and when I do, Ruby slithers off my neck and warps herself around mine and Ron's arm, scaring him shitless. "Now, now Ruby. No need to scare the poor boy. He's just a bit rude." I chastised her in parseltongue and she returned to her usual position underneath my robes.

Ron: "You're a Parselmouth?" Ron asked, scooting into his seat.

Harry: "What's a Parselmouth?" Harry asked as he looked at me in wonder.

Alastair: "It's someone who can communicate with snakes." I reply dryly.

Harry: "So, I'm a Parselmouth?" Harry asked, pointing at himself.

Alastair: "If you can talk to snakes, you are."

Harry: "Then why couldn't I understand what you were saying? Even though I'm a Parselmouth it still sounded like whispers to me."

Alastair: "That's because I was speaking a far older Parseltongue. Not all magical serpents speak that language though so you should be able to communicate with every serpent besides mine." I explain to him.

Ron almost looks like he's about to faint from shock.

Ron: "Wait, Harry? You're a Parselmouth?" Parseltongue is a dark gift." He says, revealing to me what I already knew about Ron, he was just a prejudiced bigot.

Alastair: "It's only a dark gift in Britain. In places like India it's a very rare and sought-after ability but the previous dark lord gave a bad name to the ability."

Ron didn't look like he was buying it and Harry seemed to be deep in thought. I used my legilimence and peered into his thoughts.

Harry: "I probably shouldn't use the ability anymore." Thought Harry. "If Voldemort used it then it must be a dark gift like Ron said. I mean, why would he lie to me?"

Alastair stopped reading his mind and sighed in exasperation. It seemed that Harry truly was the perfect sacrificial lamb for Dumbledore. I then waved my hand in the air and the two boy fell asleep on top of each other, soundlessly and effortlessly.

Ruby: "I don't like Ron." Ruby hissed venomously.

Alastair: "I know. I don't either. Maybe I'll kill him later but not yet. It would cause too much of a ruckus."

Ruby: "What do you plan on doing about Voldemort?" Asked Ruby as she slithered back around my shoulders.

Alastair: "Voldemort is a far wiser wizard than I currently am so I'll probably join him for a bit when he's resurrected and drain him of everything he's got before killing him." I tell her as I go back to my book. "But those are thoughts for a later time. For now, I just want to enjoy my school experience."

With those thoughts, I put my book down and returned it to my pocket before closing my eyes. Before I could fall asleep another disturbance rolls into the compartment, this time in the form of a little beaver girl with brown bushy hair.

Hermione: "Have any of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost his." She explains as she looks into the compartment and notices the boys sleeping on top of each other, as a blush crosses her face. "What am I to say about this? PDA isn't allowed by school rules." She thought to herself as she stared at the two boys, not noticing the doll-like boy sitting across from them.

Alastair: "Hmmm...it seems like she has the wrong idea about things." I thought after I had scanned her mind. (yes, he has gotten into the habit of passively reading everyone's thoughts.) "Meh...I'll just let her believe what she wants. Maybe it'll be interesting."

Hermione finally turned the other way and noticed the boy staring out the window, not even being bothered by her presence. Hermione blushed even more profusely when she saw the attractive boy.

Alastair: "I haven't seen a toad anywhere but you could ask one of the older students to summon it for you." I suggested, not even bothering to look at her.

Sure she was a talented witch and maybe he would give her a bit of attention later but for now...he just wanted his nap.

Hermione: "Ohh, yeah. Why hadn't I thought of that." She said as she rushed out of the compartment, not wanting to make a fool out of herself in front of what could very well be one of the most attractive people she would ever see.

When Hermione left, the compartment finally descended into a peaceful silence and I finally closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep.

A few hours later, a voice could be heard echoing throughout the train.

Voice: "We will be arriving at Hogwarts in ten minutes. Please have your robes on before you leave the train and leave all your stuff in your compartment."

I woke up and snapped my fingers, my robes changing into the standard Hogwarts robes. I then waved my hand in the air and the two sleeping boys opened their eyes, their memories a little fuzzy.

Alastair: "You should put on your robes. We're there." I said as I left the compartment and walked out of the train, standing towards the back of the crowd of first years that was surrounding Hagrid.

Harry and Ron soon joined us, giving me a glare as they went to greet Hagrid.
