To add to her depression, the engagement ring he kept in his hotel room was given to her. He had plans for the both of them but sadly, he couldn't be the happy man he wanted to be. With the brief moments of love he shared with her, he could rest peacefully.

She now knows how selfish she's been. She let out a cry and cry harder than she's ever imagined. He saw a part of her soul she never wanted to let out of the bag. Her lungs struggled for breath against ribs of stone and her feet weighed heavily against the cold ceramic floor of the hospital. And so her world is dark again, loneliness and depression crippling in her every thought with fear borrowing into her heart again.

He was her shelter, and she was to him too. Now he's no longer with her and the children, left his assets and engagement ring behind. She hoped and believed he was out there and there'll be another and better life for the both of them and they'll fall in love with each other all over again.

The summer trip happened to be a tragedy. She saw his corpse, picked up his cold and pale hands then diverted her gaze to the remains of the skin of his face. She could feel his presence but it faded with time.

She has to find a way to get back to Seoul with his body and give him the burial she knows he deserves.

Most of her belongings were taken by that fire, it felt like a limb torn from her body. The loss was more than her heart could take and she could feel the dark clouds looming in.

A simple touch from her daughters sent a wave of butterflies coursing through her veins, their fluttering wings easing the dread that had settled inside her. The girls tugged on the dress she wore as they tried to balance themselves.

"mama" Li Na babbled and her mother picked her up "Are you here to cheer me up?" the girl continued to babble and her sister did the same.

"I'm sorry I thought I'd give you a good life with a father, but those plans are gone now. Guiren is no more." Her eyes glimmered with tears but she had a sudden urge to wipe them away because her kids were starring.

"Meilin..." she looked up when her name was called. Her eyes elevated to see the face of the man wearing a suit with shade of dark grey.

"What are you doing here?" her nose flared up as he approached with flowers in his hand. "I'm sorry for your loss, Guiren was a good man" she eyed him in suspicion then turned her gaze away from him.

"Meilin, I came all the way from China after I heard the news. I was so worried about you...and my daughters"

"They aren't yours. Don't say they're yours. You aren't related to us"

Haru felt a chill in his blood and dropped on his knees to beg for forgiveness "I'd do Anything If you can look at me with loving eyes again. I know I hurt you in the past, I'm sorry for that. I love you meilin, I was just lost in the thoughts of the child that wasn't mine. Anyone would've done the same thing."

Meilin wasn't going to give in no matter how long he begs. She didn't want him in her life anymore, both the good and bad memories, she was trying to forget every role he played in her story. But there was one true fact that the girls were his daughters, and they'd always remind her of him.

"Meilin please..."

"You're wasting your time Mr Yang, I ask for you to leave or else I'll call the security because you aren't needed here" She was at a point in life where she had no more option but move forward, wish him nothing but the best as she moves in a new direction.

She stayed rooted to her seat not giving haru further glance as he got up. "What are you going to do without my help. You lost everything you had In that fire, doc.u.ments, clothes, money too. I'm here to help you."

"And I'm telling you that I don't need your assistance in any way. I'll make it back to Beijing without you and I'll fight for Guiren's dreams!"

"Meilin this is unbelievable!" now he switched his mood from being kind and gentle to one full of rage.

"You're gonna regret this Meilin. I'll make sure you do" She watched him march out, bumping and shoving people that were passing.

Meilin sighed as she turned her attention to her confused kids. She cooed and kissed them to take their minds off the argument between her and their father. It would be the last time she'd fight with him, She'll make sure she never comes across him again.

Meilin mad her way back to the hotel. She could stay there because Guiren's payment was for a whole month, and she had two weeks to put herself in order.

The room had a cold atmosphere, Guiren's warmth also departed from the closed walls. Even if she thought of having another lover, the feeling of Guiren In her would remain safe in her soul.

The bed wasn't so soft anymore, unlike the first day they spent their time on the same bed together. His breath, the beautiful feel of his body. She missed it all.

She ordered for food for both her children. They both laughed a sweet sound unblemished by the hurts of life. She envied that. She had a feeling that her kids new exactly what she was going through, how much she needed comfort and joy in the midst of despair.

She smiled at them, promising that she'd never let anything happen to her twins even if she had to put her life on the line.

"Yes?" Haru answered his lawyer over the phone "How's Ai Jin?"

"Sir, she's still serving up her sentence in the cell but she'd soon start her community service in the suburbs..."

"I want a divorce but I doubt she'd sign it" His lawyer knew the type of person Ai jin was. She'd never do such, she was madly in love and she'd still come back to him after her sentence.

He hung up and turned his attention to the picture of Meilin he held so sacredly "Don't worry meilin. I'll get rid of anyone that Stands in between us. I don't mind killing Ai jin to get you, and I don't mind killing you too if you hurt me more than you're needed to. You'll die in my arms and I'll stroke your head lovingly like I always used to. I'll treasure your body, even in the dead."
