Hi I'm Married, But I'm Sleeping With My Boss

Chapter 47 - The game of goodbyes (2)

Dark, empty, cold, the room stood silently at the end of the corridor. Screams echoed in the hall, lights flickered on and off. A guard opened a cell, eyes moved to a figure at a corner then proceeded to the female, took off her handcuffs and left.

She was done serving her sentence. Next was community service and she could do that at home. There was no more need of keeping her locked within grey walls, and forcing her to eat the nasty prison food and sleep on the lumpy bed.

It was hell, multiple times she'd been used as a dumbell by the older inmates and took food away from her. She did attend all the correctional programmes, her mind was modified to one of good and only good.

She was like a complete robot, her mind was blank most of the time and her body shrunk, movements humdrum. But now, she can get in contact with the outside world.

She was given change of clothes and she was led out. She looked up to the sky, her hands in the air as if she wanted to grab something. How long had it been since She'd seen cars? trees? flowers? and bright colors.

Her memories about things were fuzzy, she had no money on her, and she was stranded outside the facility.

"Haru" She said, butterflies in her stomach and she gave a weary smile. She was walking unusually slowly, almost robotically, as if her brain was struggling to tell each foot to take the next step. Everyone stared at her, trying to remember the face of their once popular idol but they doubted she could be the one.

The figure they all stared at looked the same as a walking skeleton in large clothes. They turned to mind their own business and assumed it was a random person. Even if she was the one, they'd criticize her and mock her more than they'd done while watching the law case from spy cams.

Ai Jin wasn't thinking of any of that. All she had in her mind was haru. She hadn't seen him for six months and she thought he must've forgotten about her. He didn't send notes and he never came to visit.

She's not the same anymore, if possible she'd also like to apologize to everyone she'd hurt. If that's the way to make Haru love her again, she'd do it a million times. Even if it's humiliating.

"Would haru be at his office or at home" She stopped to think. She didn't remember much about his schedule and she didn't know if she should go straight to his office because it seemed close by.

Her heart pounded just by thinking of seeing him and hugging him again. She's waited so long, it was her only motivation to love while being trapped behind bars.

She turned for a different direction, she was heading to the estate. She wasn't so sure about the route but she hoped it'll lead her back home.

"What is that" the security man called the attention of his colleague as they saw a woman approaching the gates. She looked tired and messy, they wouldn't let someone like her come into Yang's estate. They blocked the entrance but the woman asked politely for them to let her in.

She wasn't divorced yet so she could claim her title as Haru's wife. She just wanted to see him again "Please let me in. it's Ai jin, Haru's wife" the men scoffed in disbelief. They expected her to be in jail and her physical state was far different from their own picture of Ai Jin.

"Please you have to believe me"

"Lady get lost or we'll release our dogs" She had a lump in her throat after the threat. The dogs were monsters, they could reap her apart. She had to go to avoid further complications, but she wouldn't go that far. She'll just wait for haru to come back and then she can approach him.

She was used to the darkness of the night, the cold breeze too. She'd gone through a lot while she lived behind bars, the cold is nothing compared to freezing vibrations of fear in the c.h.e.s.t of a prisoner.

She saw a car moving towards the gates of the estate, and she quickly got off the bench then dashed to it. "Haru! Haru!! Haru!!!"

Haru looked at the side mirror and saw a figure nearing it. What caught his attention more was the look on her face. It was a female and she seemed happy.

"Is...Ai jin?" He got out of his car hoping his eyes were deceiving him but as soon as her arms were wrapped around him and she buried her head in his c.h.e.s.t.

She sobbed, arms tightening as she inclined deeply into the warmth and scent of his c.h.e.s.t "I've missed you. I've missed you so much baby Haru."

Haru didn't know how to react or what next he should do. The security guards stared and wondering what was wrong with the crazy woman. They still doubted she was the beautiful Ai Jin they saw on TV, the most viewed night shows, movies and advertis.e.m.e.nts, there was oddly no resemblance but Haru could tell it was her.

Something about her would always remain the same, the way she called his name.

"Haru I'm so sorry, I've changed. I'm a different woman. I swear, I'm not the same person you used to know. I care more about people now, and I care very much about our marriage. I'm sorry for everything I've done"

Haru smiled at her and slowly stroked her hair, "That's good to know, I really care about you and your well being. I'm going to treat you Ai jin, a welcome back gift" Ai Jin's emotions were mixed. She couldn't believe it. The smile he wore as he opened the passenger seat for her, and gestured for her to go in.

She felt like she was an actress in a fairytale movie and she couldn't wait to get a happy ending even after all she had done. She wanted to be a good guy and promised herself she'd struggle to be the type of woman he sees in Meilin.

He drove her to his beach house ordered a lot of food for her and watched her chow down on it. Things she was deprived from, so he could understand her sudden love for food and new behavior of eating like a caveman.

"Ai Jin it's been a while, I'm really glad to see that you've changed and you're willing to take the next step to a better life."

Ai jin smiled awkwardly as her eyes elevated to meet him. Smudges of food were on her face and she only looked at him briefly before turning her attention deeply to the food.

"Want to dance?" he put on slow music after activating the stereo with the remote. She nodded as she got up and he took her by her hand, twirled her around the opened floor then pulled her close to his c.h.e.s.t.

"Ai jin...you could've been a better person in this life, but to my life you'll never be something important" She felt a lumped in her throat after his cold words. His personality changed and he shoved her away. She knew something was wrong, that was a different haru, the one she knew would never say someone like that.

"goodbye miss, and if you come back to me or trespass on my lawn I won't hesitate to kill you. Goodluck with your community service, I hope you can handle being mocked by the whole world" He picked up his coat and keys then headed out leaving Ai jin to face another heart break from the man she was crazy for.
