Hi I'm Married, But I'm Sleeping With My Boss

Chapter 78 - How he became my husband

"Today, I'm going to talk to her mother. I love Meilin, I need to have the" Bao said to the mirror, staring at his reflection and adjusting his collar. He needed to look responsible, At least prove to her that he wasn't in so much financial crisis.

He's a normal delivery guy, but he managed to make other investments that can possibly help him out in case of problems. It'll always serve as a back up.

He took the bus to chanmida housing districts, where Meilin lived with her mother. He was panicking thinking about how her mother would react to his surprise visit. He wasn't sure of what the police man of the day before would've told her but it'll probably be something bad because, for some reason...the man hated him.

He knocked on the door and waited for a reply. Hanna opened it. Her expressions fell flat. She thought It was her daughter, she didn't expect to see bao.

"Good day ma'am. I'd like to talk to you" Hana paved way for him. "So easy?" He was confused but he had to focus on what his main motive was.

She permitted him to seat down. She went to the kitchen and came back with a tray. "Thank you" he appreciated the tea and her nice reception.

"You've take interest in my daughter right?" Bao smiled thinking about her "yes..."

"What do you have to offer? Do you have a stable job?"

"I'm still new to the labor force. With time I'd advance—" hana chuckled at how foolish he was for thinking she'd take the risk to let her daughter date a full-time pizzla delivery guy.

"Is something wrong?"

"I heard you've been to jail before?" Bao could do nothing but nod. He's a changed person and he could swear on his life that he'd make Meilin the happiest woman alive.

"I did it for her...money was the only way...I didn't have it" Hana was irritated. He had the audacity to come to her house especially with a criminal past. She poured her hot tea over him and he hissed to the burning sensation. She was scary, the pure opposite of her daughter.

"I know men like you. I'd never let the same thing happen to her..."

"MOM!!!" Meilin stood at the door, teary eyed but her mother had no regrets. He deserved it and she was very unapologetic.

"You hurt the man I love" hana smacked her daughter hard "you don't need a man! I raised you for the past thirteen years without one!!" She smacked meilin again on the same spot and the girl remain unmoved. Even if her mother hit her over and over, her perspective of bao wouldn't change.

"It's either your mom or this useless man" she pointed at bao that was feeling all levels of guilt.

Meilin didn't think twice. She stormed to her room, grabbed a box and threw all her clothes and belongings in. Hana thought her daughter had gone mad. She tried to stop Meilin, but she was pushed away.

"I hate you mom!!! Leave my life alone!!!" Meilin tugged the heavy box down the stairwstairway and commanded that bao followed her. Her face was filled with different emotions, fear, anger, sadness all mixed together.

"Meilin... Are you sure about this?" Bao started to doubt himself. What if he never reaches her mother's expectations. Meilin shouldn't trust him too much, he wanted her to change her mind.

"Please...your mom!"

"She has her money and a life. I have mine and I chose a life with you!" Yet again, her words were a piercing to his heart. The sword of her mouth left him in love even more than he was and he promised silently that he'd give her a happy life.

He took her to bakano. wasn't the beat place to live but it was their only option at that time. Meilin took her time to set The place up and clean to her satisfaction. Bao wanted to help but Meilin assured him he didn't need to.

"So now that we're living together? Does that make us husband and wife?"

"Meilin..." Bao wrapped his arms around her and she buried her face in his c.h.e.s.t before crying out loud. He knew she was still sad, he didn't want her to hide it behind chores anymore.

Weeks had passed, Meilin started college, didn't receive calls from her mom anymore and Bao continued his delivery job.

Whenever he got his weekly pay, he'd buy grocery and save some for reasons like buying meilin a gift for her eighteenth birthday.

Meilin was secretly working too. She was hired to be a tutor for some kids living quite far for bakano, but the pay was good. It'll help them eat to their satisfaction.

On Meilin's eighteenth birthday, haru took her ourt for dinner. They had food at a restaurant in an amus.e.m.e.nt park. They went on rides, took pictures and played games. The best part was yet to come, he ensured Meilin.

The wind was cool and it made them both feel chills. They'd warm up eachother with cuddles from time to time. They sat on a bench staring at the sparkle of the night pond and the small turbulents in it.

"I love you meilin..." Whenever he said that. He got her cheeks red. That day was different, he was going to prove it. He kneeled on a leg and brought out a small box "happy birthday my love" meilin gasped. She couldn't believe it.

"Will you marry me Meilin?" Her eyes brimmed with tears and she quickly knelt to his height level and locked her lips with his.

The wedding was a quick elopement wasn't up to an hour. As long as they could say yes I do, and could call eachother man and wife, they were satisfied.

Meilin wrote a letter to Her mom about their wedding and as expected she didn't write back. Meilin was sad, but she moved on from that side of her life. She was a wife and also had to work hard especially for her degree.

Now Mr and Mrs luan, the two decided to have three kids in total and move from bakano once their standard of living improves.

Hana died a year later but her daughter wasn't informed at all because no one but her mother knew her where abouts and had her contact.

Bao was fired from his job and spent weeks looking for a new one. They'd mock him for his past deeds and the criminal records tagged to his CV. He didn't even have a high school diploma. That made things worse for him.

The house was going broke and Meilin used her own money for her tuition fee. Bao was scared to tell her he was unemployed, he wasn't going out to work dressed in formal clothes, he went out to attend interviews and get a new and better job but no one was willing to accept him.

He felt useless and frustrated with his life. He went home to watch some TV, he'd just lie to meilin that he closed early from work if she asks questions. Lately he'd been used to lying to her and he was gradually losing his inner guilt to that.

He came across and ad on TV about gambling and the commercial promised quick and easy money. It was money for money. The more the money, the more money he'd get as an output. Money, he didn't have that.

"Would it be wrong if I borrow money from Meilin?" He shook his head "I'll pay her back once I win the bet" he picked up his wife's purse and left to check out what was going on at the casino-L.A district of the city.

Meilin got home late that day. She went straight to the kitchen to warm up some food for  herself and her husband. She sat down to eat and was casually scrolling through her phone when she choked as soon as she saw the message from her bank with debit staments with many zeros. More that half of her tutition money.

Could it have been a hacker? Thief? Meilin couldn't understand. The door flung open and bao came in looking like a mess. She ran to meet him, tears filling her eyes but she backed away. He smelled too much like beer and cigarettes.

"My love? Where have you been?" His eyes were red and droopy and he slowly walked to her as she walked back. She noticed her purse in his hand. She couldn't understand. He was the only one that knew her pin, because it was the same with his.

"They said quick and easy money! They said I'd get more money for money —" he kept babbling and it was making meilin scared.

"Why me? Why won't they employ me" Bao threw a punch at meilin. It had been a while since he'd poured his frustration on something and gone on a rampage but this time around, hitting her...made him feel good.

Meilin was out cold on the floor. He smiled crazily as he ripped her clothes apart and dragged her unconscious body to his bed room. He needed to calm down and he needed a punching bag to do so.
