Chapter 3 “Monster Appearance Part 1”

Don’t ask why Dawn could see a human-like expression on the face of a hamster. He doesn’t know why either but that’s how it was.

Is this a hamster? How come I feel like it’s more human than a human. Those snowy white fluffy fur, I bet it will feel so soft and comfortable in my hands if I rub it. And those big black eyes, it’s so clear and reflective. Oh what am I saying? It’s damn adorable!

For a long awkward pause, both hamster and human stared at each other like they didn’t know what to do next.

“Squeak~ Squeak~ Squeak~” Getting down on four paws like its natural to itself, the hamster only made that squeaking sound before swiftly crawling for the darkness outside the closet. It’s fast and skilled at running, which was typical for any hamster.

However, Dawn wasn’t going to have this at all, not after what he experienced just now. He would be damned if this hamster was some normal animal. Therefore, before the thing could give him the slip, Dawn had sniped the white fluffball with his hand and pressed down at that tail to keep it from running.

“Squeak!”

The hamster struggled inside his grippy hand. It’s strong, stronger than the ordinary child, but for some reason Dawn’s hand became an iron tong that chained the hamster up.

“Still want to run?” He coldly huffed a grunt like he was displeased while thinking back to that strange cat sound.

“Let go of me, stupid human!” Right as he was still contemplating on what to do, the hamster suddenly yelled at him in perfect human tongue.

Naturally, he would be startled by the suddenness, but that’s about it. There’s no fear at all in the young Landlord’s eye anymore, only intrigue and astonishment.

This hamster can talk…. Does that mean the scene of that bloodied creature is because of this hamster? And the haunting is also because of this hamster?

“Little fella, what exactly are you?” He examined the white hamster in front of himself and asked.

Perhaps angered by the way it was spoken to, the white hamster puffed up his chest and crossed those arms, its head turned like a grandpa that’s upset and refusing to talk.

“Huh, why are you acting all tough and proud when you’re already in my hands? Won’t speak eh? If I squeeze a bit harder than you’re finished.” The guy narrows his eyes in like a predator, which worked because the hamster’s body made a visible tremble in the next.

“You, what are you planning to do?” The hamster sounded nervous and not so tough anymore.

“What do you think I want to do? Honestly, my patience is starting to wear thin. Say it, are you the troublemaker just now? If you don’t spill it then I’m going to add some extra servings to the house cat tonight.” Dawn’s words were both playful and threatening, making it hard to discern if he’s serious or just empty air.

Maybe it’s because of the cat sound from before, but the little white hamster bought the lie easily and didn’t question it one bit. “I am just a helpless little monster, I’m sorry for scaring you just now. Oh merciful Landlord, please spare my life.”

Isn’t this one an honest thing… Looking at his initial appearance, I thought he would be the unyielding type.

But then again, hearing the word “monster” coming out of a hamster’s mouth still made his eye twitch. Honest to god, whatever common sense he’s known had been flushed down the toilet and into the sewer pipe!
