Chapter 9 - Clown

Hearing my alarm made me sad, work was coming for me. I got up and went into the bathroom. Undressing and showering for about fifteen minutes. I came out brushed my teeth then got ready to go to work. I went inside, scanning my key card quickly. Stopping the elevator door from closing I sighed as getting in was a bit of a fuss - people don't understand personal space. Leaving the elevator I ran along to my desk putting down my bag and walking along to the staff room for my side of the building. I turned on the coffee maker waiting for anyone I liked to come in for a chat, like every morning. Filling up my cup I heard a very familiar voice.

"Hey Ali~ How are you this morning?";

"Ugh- I'm okay. This morning, ha! I want to sleep in once in a while, you know?" Jessica laughed getting coffee for herself.

"Yeah. I get you, ha! I hate waking up so early but, that's what lawyers do~";

I'm a lawyer and have been for five years. "Yes your right, like always gurl ha ha!" we both laughed going Back to are desks.

It was now 2:45pm and, I had a court case to get to. Sitting in my car I drove along to the courthouse which was only forty minutes away - my case was at 4:30 pm and I cannot be late. I have to get there, so I can go over the case and sort out the timings with the judge in case something goes wrong. After I arrived at 3:50pm I went inside to see the judge and client. After I went over the case and talked to the judge, we were good to go ahead.

The judge came in and sat down "Today we have the case of Julia Roberts, and she is standing trial for the murder of Alan Ross, please have your seats" everyone sat down and I stood up.

After the trail she was found not guilty I won case. When I got back home Jessica texted me saying there was a party at her house and I had to come at 8:40pm. After showering, I got into a black tight dress and black heels and a little bottle of wine. It turned 9:25pm and there was lots of people here, I took off my shoes and went outside to breathe.

It was kinda claustrophobic in there, the night sky was beautiful and the area too, looking apron the lake i turned around to go back inside and heard screaming. Running inside I saw this clown man and a few people dead I screamed grabbing Jessica I saw a bullet go straight through her head I scream and held her body while people were trying to get of the house I cried my eyes out in so much pain.

Feeling an agonizing pain in my side. Afraid to look I saw blood "Aaaaaa... Uhhhhh " I looked over the room seeing people still running and being shot. The Clown man made me terrified and fear ran through my body along with adrenaline. I got up leaving my dead the best friend I tried getting out hearing the clown laugh was soul shaking everyone screaming, crying and dying. I finally got to the stairs feeling a bullet hit my arm I dropped to my knees crying and aching. The clown man was at the end of the hall staring at us all like we were his food. You can tell this was the most terrifying moment of my life. I thought I was going to die until someone fought back.

There was a man behind the clown he jumped on him making the clown shot off bullets from his gun. He punched him in the face I got up and walked to the decking as fast as I could. Getting past the clown man. I climbed over as fast as possible going along the road, I looked up seeing the clown man. I ran as fast as I could, and I was only able to run due to adrenaline and I tell you it's as good as it's said to be. I made it to the long trail along the small wood and I saw the clown man behind me, I still kept running, but he just walked. I turned around hearing loud footsteps and I saw the clown so close, but I was too slow to do anything. Before I knew it he was on top of me, he punched me and I felt even more ill and faint. I felt around grabbing the nearest thing to me. Smashing it against his head I rolled over smashing his head as hard as possible blood covering my face and body.

I gave up laying on the ground next to a corpse I could only see black closing my eyes for which I thought was the end. The day I woke up form being unconscious and on a drip, my dad next to me crying. Knowing that most of my friends and best friend had died made me heartbroken. The police asked me questions around two weeks later due to me not talking to anyone from trauma. I quit my job and went into therapy to get help from what I had seen, done and was part of. My name is Alice Drake, and I was a witness to mass murder and I killed a monster.
