How To Stay Immortal

Chapter 6 - The business district for the initiated

After talking with his master Draculesci, Dante was handed a supply list of things required for the coming semester at Worthington Academy.

Having read the letter Dante bumps into Micah, who just so happens to have finished his last examination. Unsure of the extent of his scholarship Dante asks his elder fellow student, how he is supposed to pay for all the supplies.

Smirking while holding up a sack of coins Micah tells him that since he is a scholarship student the Academy would pay for it all. Coin and list at hand they walk south to the business distinct of Yharnam with the sun slowly descending behind the horizon.

Entering the still crowded but much quieter businesses district. Inside the alley, the district is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights. ''All items on your supply list, we should be able to buy here. The district is completely hidden from the uninitiated who are right outside of its boundaries. It is very large in area and essentially the central trading hub for all the Nine Realms.'' Explains Micah, leading the way to a large bookstore.

''Uninitiated?'' Dante asks nearly losing his new friend.

Taking Dantes hand and dragging him along through the masses, Micah explains. ''The Uninitiated are people who are born to two non-noble parents and are incapable of understanding and believing the wonders of the universe. They are basically nihilists and are not to be confused with Uneducated ones, who are believing in the wonders but incapable of understanding. Here we are!...''

Stopping in front of the bookstore I ask my friend. ''Can we split the list between each other to get everything quicker?''

''Yes, I can get your books and most of your other equipment. You only have to get your Uniform and wand or object to channel mana.'' Micah tells Dante splitting the list apart. Glad for his friends help Dante tells him pointing at an all black fountain surmounted by a winged statue of Anteros. '' Let's meet up at the fountain over there after we got everything.''

Smiling Mica nodds saying. ''Can do. After you have your uniform and channel object, I will have gotten the rest. I am sure that this will not take to much time, so let's check out the meat market for an affordable and fitting research subject for you.''

''Ok, see you then... Ahm...'' Dante says sure of himself before realizing that he doesn't know where to go.

Stifling a laugh Micah gives Dante directions by pointing out the needed shops after handing him half of the sack of coins. ''This right here in front of us is the 'Arcane Bookstore'. Arcane is the most famous publisher for scientific research. The 'Weekly Mystics' is also published by them.

This over there is 'Madam Edkins's Clothes for All Occasions' store. Sometimes simply referred to as 'Edkins', it is the shop to get high-quality clothes from. Students get their Worthington Academy uniforms there. It also sells dress, robes, traveling cloaks, and the like.

Last but not least 'Oliver Vendor's shop for Channeling Objects' there you will either get a wand or some jewelry to channel mana. The old bastard is the only seller and manufacturer of those objects in Midgard basically giving him a monopoly on pricing them.''

''Thanks once again.'' Dante says before leaving Micah in the direction of 'Edkins'. Swiftly moving in between the people he easily reaches the clothing store. Over the entrance one can read in golden letters the words 'Omnia Omnibus Ubique' which is Latin for 'all things for all people, everywhere'.

Moving inside Dante is nearly crushed by the chaos of people moving around, the huge majority of which are children accompanied by there parents. The fact that most woman is wearing large room filling dresses doesn't help much when it comes to moving in between the rows of clothing stands overloaded with fabrics.

Scanning the ground floor of this three stories high monstrosity of a clothing store Dante finds a queue of children five to six years older than himself standing in line in front of a door titled 'Custom Uniforms'. Joining the queue he accidentally bumps into the boy in front of him.

''Sorry.'' He awkwardly apologies to the boy a head taller than himself.

Turning around the boy looking pissed, looking down at Dantes common clothes sneers before proudly holding. ''Can't you look where you are going? I am Damian Malavor, so watch out and don't force me to kill you. What are you doing here anyway? This is the line for students of Worthington to get their custom uniforms!''

Before Dante is able to answer he is hugged from behind by a pair of slender hands, the smell of lilies envelopes his senses and he hears a girlish voice answer the unfriendly boy. ''Shut up Damian. Stop bullying small children to prove your manliness.''

Knowing his teeth Damian says. ''I was just helping the boy along, Killiana. As an elder, it is my duty to help guide the younger ones.''

''Blablabla...'' The girl apparently named Killiana says, squeezing Dante close to her developing c.h.e.s.t before turning him around saying. ''... Don't feel bad for being bullied. Damian is only so annoying because he has befriended this year most promising first year, Vincent Elcraft.''

Looking at the girl or should he call her woman Dante is left speechless by Killians m.a.t.u.r.e appearance. With mesmerizing stunning green eyes, raven black hair, an athletic body, and a big juicy a.s.s Killian is the dream of every guy hitting puberty. With a hight of nearly 1,55m, the girl just dwarfs over Dante with his measly 1,20m.

-Being only five really sucks. If only I wear fourteen then this girl would be mine.- He thinks while guessing her body proportions to be developing 32B-27-35 and saying. ''Thanks for your help.''

''P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you. I am Killiana Coleman, Healer Second Grade, by the way, are you sure that you are in the correct line? Never heard that the Academy takes students below ten.'' The raven-haired beauty tells Dante who is still raging on mentally that his body is just five years and only half listening to what she is saying.

''I guess I am in the right line...'' He tells the girl, taking out his provisional identification and showing it two her. ''... I am a first-year student. I hope senior can help me. I am in need of three sets of plain work robes (preferably white), one pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar) and one winter cloak (preferably black with silver fastenings).''

Looking stunned at the identification Killiana totally ignores Dantes listing of necessities says after Dante looking expectedly at her for some time. ''Ahm... I guess you truly are in the right queue. I also need new clothes this year, despite the m.a.t.u.r.e appearance I am in truth just fourteen years old. I experimented with growth potions last year and ended up aging by around eight years. I guess my body will be permanently stuck in this age...''

''Next!'' The voice of an elderly woman can be heard from behind me, interrupting Killian's rambling and I realize that all the people in front of me including Damian Malavor are already gone.

''Nice to have met you, Killian. I am Dante by the way. Please take this raven as a thank you for helping me.'' Dante says, handing over his puppet raven to the girl before she can say anything and goes through the door titled 'Custom Uniforms'.

Half an hour later Dante leaves the room labeled 'Custom Uniforms' deeply embarrassed, 45 Gold coins poorer but with all the necessary clothes stored in his Systems [Storage]. Leaving Edkinds after not meeting Killian again, Dante begins looking at the fountain where he is supposed to meet up with Micah for his friend. Seeing it devoid of any familiar face, he decides to go to 'Oliver Vendor's shop for Channeling Objects' and by a mana channeling object as requested by the supply list.
