How To Stay Immortal

After creating a [Quest System] the very next day, Dante spends the following days accompanying Micah or Master Draculesci in their daily chores like grating entrance tests, managing the already admitted first grades and supervising a staff of the riverboat to finish as many quests as he can to level up. Investing all earned Soul Echos in leveling up Dante easily reaches Level 8 and raises Vitality +2; Endurance +2; Strength +1.

The day the riverboat departed from Yharnam Dante spend the day cooped up in his cabin, to figure out a bunch of plans to save his mother and to avoid bumping into his brother Vincent or his mother.

Today marks the third day if traversing the Lake of the Nine. Sitting at a table, eating some cornflakes with honey and milk Dante checks out his current quest log.

Dante is an about to swipe over the only secondary Quest to get additional information when suddenly some poke him.

''Excuse me, do you mind? Everywhere else is full.'' Asks a boy maybe five years older than Dante with Redhair and freckles.

Seeing the boy just barely holding on to his tray Dante closes his notebook saying. ''No, not at all.''

Released the boy sits down across from Dante. ''I'm Rupert, by the way. Rupert Grim.''

Smiling at the dork in front of him Dante says. ''I'm Dante. Dante Elcraft.''

Seeing Ruperts surprised look, his mouth slightly agape. ''So-so it's true?! I mean, did you really?''

Seeing the redhead still dazed Dante asks. ''Really what?''

Whispering in a muffled voice Rupert says. ''Ace the entrance test and become Master Draculescis apprentice.

Nodding Dante says. ''Oh, that yeah.''

''Wicked. Did you also get the only scholarship this year?''

Before Dante can answer trolley comes by their table, full of sweets.

''Anything off the trolley, dears?'' Asks a middle-aged woman all smiles.

Rupert pointing at his plate says smacking his lips. ''No, thanks, I'm all set.''

Dante rummaging around in his pockets pulls out the coin left from the shopping trip with Micah saying. ''What can I get for this?''

Seeing the coin in Dantes' hand Rupert can only roan in admiration. ''Whoa!''

Sometime later Rupert and Dante are sitting on the observatory deck, greedily devouring bundles of sweets. Rupert's doll mice perched on his knee, a box over its head.

Checking one of the sweets Dante asks. ''Every Flavour Beans?''

Seeing his new friends questioning gaze Rupert explains. ''They mean every flavor! There are chocolate and peppermint, and there's also spinach, liver, and tripe. My big brother Kevin swore he got a bogey-flavoured one once!''

Hearing this Dante quickly takes the bean he was chewing out of his mouth. Picking up a red and silver package than asks. ''These aren't real chocolate eyes, are they?''

Shaking his head Rupert explains to him. ''It's only a rune. Besides, it's the cards you want. Each pack's got a famous scholar or researcher. I got about a thousand of these myself.''

As Dante ripped open the package the chocolate eyes fall out hitting the dirty deck before getting stuck in between the wooden planks.

Seeing that Rupert comments. ''Oh, that's rotten luck. They taste delicious.''

Looking at the card in his hand Dante says. ''Hey, I got a woman named Alessia!''

Disinterested Rupert says. ''I got about 6 of her. She was a princess before dying.''

Looking at the card again Dante exclaims surprised. ''Hey, she's gone!''

''Well, you can't expect her to hang around all day, can you?'' Says Rupert when his doll mice suddenly squeak. ''This is Dartanio, by the way, pitiful, isn't he?''

Looking at the poorly stitched together doll Dane says. ''Just a little bit.''

''Kevin gave me a spell as to remotely control dolls. Want to see?'' Asks Rupert happy to show off.

Always ready to learn a new skill Dante answers. ''Yeah!''

Cleaning his throat the redhead takes out a medallion and begins chanting. ''Ahem. Imp...''

Before Rupert can finish his spell a girl, with straight brown, the ends streaks of golden, hair appears out of nowhere next to Dante. Wearing her Worthington uniform already she asks. ''Has anyone seen a toad puppet? A boy named Ville lost his!''

Annoyed Rupert says. ''No.''

Seeing that Rupert was about to cast a spell the girls asks. ''Oh, are you casting a spell? Let's see!''

Unable to cast this annoying girl away Rupert ignores her and just continues his casting. ''Aghhhemm. Imperius!''

Except for a zapping sound, nothing happens. Rupert shrugs, saying nothing.

Not the least bit surprised Emma mocks. ''Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, it's not very good, is it? Of course I've only tried a few simple weak spells myself, and they've all worked for me. For example...''

Emma leans down, taking out her wand, pointing it at the chocolate eyeball still stuck in between the planks saying. ''Wingardium!'' Amazingly the eyeball jumps out from its position in between the planks. Catching it mid-jump Emma catches it and hands it to Dante. ''That's better, isn't it?...'' she says before stammering, recognising Dante as the scholarship student from the first day of testing. ''... Holy Crap, you're Dante Elcraft. I'm Emma Wats... and you are...?''

Ruper who is ignoring the girl but remembering his manners he says his mouth full with sweet. ''I'm... Rupert Grim.''

Standing up Emma says. ''P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. You two better change into your uniforms. I expect we'll be having a gathering soon...''

Just when she is about to leaves, she turns back around and looks at Rupert. Before she can say anything Dante asks out of the blue. ''Does any of you know how to force a buy with another student?''

Looking at Rupert he only gets a sorry shrug. Looking at Emma Dante sees the faint hint of knowledge, so he asks her. ''Emma?''

''I don't really know, but a third-grade student once talked about dolls on the Academy grounds. Maybe that has something to do with it!...'' Emma answers contemplating every word. ''... Why do you ask?''

-Duells you say? Is there a legal way to kill this annoying elder brother of mine and free my mother?- Dante thinks but says. ''Just curious.''

Not being convinced but unable to refute his claims Emma looks at saying. ''You've got dirt, on your cheek, by the way, did you know? Just there.''

She points at Ruperts left cheek before leaving both of them to their sweets. After Emma has left Rupert wipes his left cheek slightly embarrassed.

Checking his black book Dante sees his secondary quest gone, so he checks up on his [Character Stats]
