Hunger Gamers

On the ground sat a man that looked all around himself. He appeared to be taking in the sights similar to a person who would be experiencing soon a large change in there life. Whether that be a good or a bad one.

The man was an old one that appeared to be in his 70's. As he sat there on the ground bored while looking around; he gave a final sigh and said"Gonoja I have finally defeated the final dungeon in the infinite cosmos. Repetitively since the don of time I have fought and defeated the many dungeons that have appeared. Now its time that I summon the warriors." What was heard next was a rumble as the sky seemed to listen to what he said as if the master of nature was he himself.

I looked up and saw a old man. At first I freaked out until I heard the man yell in a soothing way. This yelling brought me back to my senses, and left me in amazement. Just how did the man before me do that I couldn't help but think.

The man seemed amused with how I was acting. Softly almost as if his being gave out a feeling of care he requested me to move beside him. Deciding quickly I didn't want to make this man mad I did as he asked.

As I sit upon the ground I noticed he started some kind of incantation. As he was almost done a glow enveloped the ground in front of him, and out came a man with blond hair. When I looked a bit closer I noticed he also had blue eyes. "Is this how you summoned me," I couldn't help but to ask in amazement.

Smirking the man gave me a nod and started on the next person. This time there was a woman like myself in a purple t-shirt. I realized quickly that she was my twin.

There was 5 more glows in the time it took to finish gaping in wonder at the sights in front of me. The man looked towards me and asked "Would you please gather all the contestants including yourself and meet me here completely ready in 10 minutes."

After hearing this I looked around once more, and nodded accepting to do so. After 3 minutes were up everyone else had gotten up from the ground in a clockwork pattern. Maybe I was the test subject I mused morbidly towards myself.

"Hello," I announced towards everyone that had just woken up. I noticed immediately that there rapt attention towards me had increased. "In 7 more minutes the man who summoned us will come back." Strange I thought to myself. How did I know how long it's been. That's when I realized that I had some kind of internal clock. Deciding to put off the strange thoughts I looked back towards the others.

The others in turn looked at me with surprise after finding out that I wasn't the one to summons them. That lasted until my twin noticed it was me up here on the stage, and not some look alike.

" Is that you up there Shikima," she asked with hope? To her question all I could do was nod my head yes with a slight smile.

In that same moment the man who decided to summons us appeared. "Hello," he announced somehow directing the words towards each of us with an air of whimsical power backing it up.

After that he twirled his cane before he spoke again "You all have been selected for the first Hunger Gamers." We almost all looked at him with alarm at this, because almost all of us knew the book and movie "Hunger Games." The couple of people who didn't know were immediately filled in on the idea of what it was. To state they were unhappy was in fact a understatement, because they were absolutely terrified.

"These games have a twist if you noticed the title," he continued speaking. "You all have stats that can be checked out. However you can't level stats or gain them through training.

What you can do is use cash to upgrade your stats. This amount has a set price for each higher stat on each category. Secondly these stats and certain things can only be bought from me and my 3 personal NPCs.

Finally I have the city set up with 38,000 elves, 2,000 dark elves, and 10,000 dwarves. These are my people and if you attack one of them the rest will come running after you. They can also revive infinitely so I wouldn't advise attacking them.

Now that, that is out of the way we can get to the fun part. You all must chose your teams among yourselves. Your life depends on this so I wouldn't skimp by picking anyone. You must be in pairs of 2 or 4 that's made up of an equal number of males and females!"

As soon as I processed the words I was off. Hoping that I could join the blond, however life decided against it as my twin made it first. As I looked around I realized there was only me and this silver haired guy left.

After he nodded his head towards me I quickly realized that he was one of those quiet types. Nodding my head back I walked up next to him, and looked up once more at the man who summoned us here.

"Now that everyone has a partner I wish to tell you all that you all have been set back to level one, but you get keep your main 7 stats. This means your health and magic are down from whatever original amount you have.

Secondly I wish to tell you Kakashi" he said while he pointed at my team mate "have sadly lost your Chakra for temporarily. Thankfully you gain mana so please don't try and foolishly use it like you would Chakra and blow yourself up.

As I looked at my teammate I realized he had one solid blood red eye with small commas, and one dark green eye that was so dark it was indistinguishable from black. However the bottom of his face was covered by a mask and his forehead had a headband with a weird spiral design that had a triangle side that connected with it.

However when I looked into the man's eyes I noticed a sorrow that was deeper than anything I had saw before. The man had experienced in his life something that had tainted it beyond repair. Soon after the man had finished processing what he heard; he gave a sigh and mumbled "Figures."

The man who was talking to him continued on as if nothing had happened "Now I wish for all of you to draw one card at a time and I'll explain it to you. Out of fear I hesitated for a second before I decided to go up to him. My teammate gave me a nod and I gave him a silent thanks for his support. I would be a sacrifice for the others if anything bad happened up on stage.

As soon as I stepped up on it the man handed me a box with cards on it. i pulled a card out and here's what I could now read.

As I finished looking at my paper I stepped out of the way so that the others could get there cards. Waiting for everything to finish I wondered over something. Just how would I compare to the others.
