I Died, But Came Back ... As A Wolf

Chapter 64 - Jian's Departs

Waking up Jian sneakily glanced over at Tian Long and noticed him collapsed on the bed snoring from the exhaustion of looking after Da Xin; Da Xin herself is also fast asleep giving Tian Long a moment of reprieve.

Jian slightly sighed as he began to follow through on the plan he had already made. Pulling out a letter that he had already written beforehand Jian tip toes over to Tian Long's nightstand and quietly places the letter down whilst being as careful as possible to not make any noise as it would be quite awkward if Tian Long suddenly woke up and asked him where he was going. Making his way out Jian looks back once again and reminisces over the short but meaningful time he had spent part of Sarah's group.

Unknowingly, to Jian, Tian Long sighed as his tired body straightened out as he stood up and listened as his friend left without a goodbye however he made no move to stop him as he knew he would only be making it harder for him. Jian didn't want to personally say goodbye as he didn't want to face the sadness and awkwardness that would happen and Tian Long respected that.

Sighing once again, Jian makes his way to Sarah's room and takes out another two goodbye letters he had prepared. Jian hadn't written any letter for Ming'er since he didn't know her well enough to consider her a close friend that he needed to say goodbye to. Slipping the letters under the door, Jian quickly moves away from the door as he knows that Sarah liked to wake up early which meant that Huo got up even earlier as she liked to have Sarah wake up and have breakfast already cooking or just ready.

A couple minutes after Jian had slipped away Huo opened the door with two letters in her hand confused. Checking for a couple seconds she shrugs and then heads back inside.

Jian's journey to the exit of the academy was smooth and fast as he knew that if Huo had read the letter fast she could catch up with him. This was a scenario that Jian did not want to happen therefore he had went at the maximum speed he could run at for the longest time that he could.

Thanks to Jian speeding his way to the exit he made it there in a short time and then headed out with a little bag attached to his waist which held some of his clothes that Sarah had gotten for him. As the sun rose, Jian's figure got further and further away until it faded into the distance.

Waking up with the rising sun Sarah gradually got up. Looking to her side she spots Ming'er clinging to her as she had taken up the habit of sleeping on the same bed as Sarah after the accident with the assassin's. Sniffing Sarah once again smells the usual breakfast food that Huo usually makes however for some reason there is another smell mixed in that is making her nose sour and her eyes tear.

Frowning, Sarah gets up from the bed as she gently shifts Ming'er to the side and walks towards the kitchen. As she got closer she could hear some muffled sobs which alarmed Sarah as she had never heard Huo sob or cry during the time that they had been together. Sarah gathered herself together very quickly and stormed into the kitchen.

The scene that greeted Sarah was Huo holding onto a letter which now had some tear stains whilst the breakfast she was making was now slightly burning.

"Huo?" Sarah gently called out in a questioning manner which broke Huo out of her sobbing state.

"Mistress!" Huo exclaimed softly in surprise as she didn't notice Sarah come in at all.

Broken out of her state she quickly turns around and noticed the state of the breakfast she had been making. Huo then began to turn everything off as she salvaged whatever she could which was quite a substantial amount, luckily, as the food had only just begun to burn.

Sarah's frown deepened as she saw this as she had never seen her in this state through the months that they had been together. Looking at the letter that still hadn't left Huo's hand even when she had went back to salvaging the food. Through this Sarah could deduce that the letter was quite important to Huo yet it had caused her to sob.

"What is that letter?" Deciding that guessing wasn't going to get her anywhere Sarah just directly asked Huo about the letter.

"Huh? Oh, the letter." Huo was quite spaced out as she replied as her mind was still occupied by what the letter had said.

Coming back Huo realised that she had spaced out again and then silently handed the letter to Sarah.

Sarah took the letter and then began to read the ltter in her head.

Dear Huo,

I know that this is not the best way I could have went about saying my goodbyes yet I could not bring myself to face you all in person and watch as I saddened you. Especially Sarah, who, although puts up a cold exterior has a warm interior which will have a hard time accepting the fact that I have left. In fact, I am sure she will somehow feel that my leaving will be her fault which is not what I want as I do not balme her at all. The fault lies entirely with me for letting my guard down.

Huo although the time we had spent together had only amounted to a few short months I have come to view as one of the most important people in my life. I hope that with my departure you will not be burdened and saddened as I know that the past you hold still pains you deeply. Losing yet another person whom you have come to call your friend will not help in taking the pain away however this is a choice I had to make to become strong enough to stand side by side with you (you = the group).

If fate allows it I hope to stand with you all once again and finally be of help instead of standing at the sides watching as everything happens.

Yours Sincerely

Jian.
