I'll Tell You Every Day

Shuren took Liu Jin to Japan. It was a quiet trip with both father and son barely saying a word to each other. Yet despite the silence, it was fun.

They ate at a ramen shop together before visiting toy shops. Liu Jin bought gifts for Daiyu and reluctantly, for Zhihao as well. Shuren took his time, quietly picking out toys.

After that, he brought Liu Jin to the electronics district. Liu Jin excitedly went from store to store, picking out a new camera to buy. He finally found a few good models but was debating on which one to buy. Unsure, he paused before slowly turning his head to face his father.

"Dad"

Shuren looked down and saw Liu Jin holding two cameras. He then pointed towards the one on the boy's right hand before turning his attention away.

Liu Jin paused, confused.

'He's not going to explain why?' He sighed. But just then, his father's voice surprised him.

"That one's better for taking portraits."

Liu Jin looked at his father who was still busy browsing through shelves. A smile gently bloomed on his face.

'He knows.'

"Hehe." He giggled. He wasn't aware that his dad knew that he liked taking pictures of Daiyu.

He then returned the other camera before proceeding to the checkout counter with his father's card.

The next day, they shopped for gifts to bring home for Nana. After that, they visited several herbal shops to buy tea and medicine for Honghui before finally taking the flight back home.

While waiting for the plane to start boarding passengers, Shuren turned to face his son.

"Jin."

Liu Jin turned his head and saw his father handing him a bag. He silently opened it and his eyes widened. It was a toy robot that he had wanted in the past.

Liu Jin looked down, memories flooding his head.

In the past, he wanted to buy this toy. But at that time, Shuren and Nana had just split up. The house was a mess with Shuren drunk every night. He tried asking his father for the toy but he threw an alcohol bottle at him instead. To this day, a small scar was still visible on Liu Jin's right brow from a deep cut brought about by a shard of broken glass.

Because of that incident, he hated his father in his past life. For a five-year-old boy, his father's actions had broken his little heart. After that incident, he kept a lot of things from his father, such as when Lanfen started physically mistreating him. He endured silently for eight years before his gruesome death at the age of thirteen. In his horrible past life, Daiyu was his only light.

In this life, the only reason he approached his father was because he wanted to live for Daiyu. If he could, he would have avoided him again.

Shuren rested his hand on the boy's head.

"Forgive me."

Liu Jin paused. Along with the lifting of the heavy burden on his heart came the lifting of the dam that held back his tears.

"Dad." Liu Jin turned to face his father, his face stained with tears.

Shuren smiled before hugging him. The boy buried his face onto his father's chest and sobbed.

"Dad" He cried.

"Mmm." Shuren nodded and gently stroked his hair as the boy continued crying.

Life was really strange. He never knew that the father he hated could be this warm. If he didn't give him the chance, he would have never known.

On the way home, Liu Jin fell asleep peacefully. When Nana came to pick them up at the airport, she was greeted by a warm sight. Shuren dragged their luggage with one hand while he carried Liu Jin with the other. The boy was asleep in his father's arms, his head resting on Shuren's shoulder and his arms wrapped around his father's neck. On his right hand, he held onto his toy robot tightly.

Daiyu, who was drawing on the living room floor, stood up and dusted off her dress. She then made her way to Wang Jing.

"Grandpaw." She called.

The old man, who was reading a letter, looked towards her before placing a huge box down in front of her.

"Here. This is from Yunxi. Do you remember him?"

Daiyu paused, trying to remember.

" Yunxi-gege!"

Wang Jing nodded.

"Mmm. He's your older cousin. He couldn't come to your birthday this year so he sent you a gift instead."

Daiyu's eyes widened with excitement.

"Can can Daiyu open it now?"

Wang Jing chuckled.

"Of course!"

She squealed in excitement and began opening her gift. Nao Nao stood beside her, curious as well.

Inside the box was an electric pink toy car that she could ride.

"W-WOW!" Daiyu's eyes turned into stars.

She quickly got inside and when she discovered that she could drive it around, she squealed in happiness.

"Grandpaw!!! Look!!! Daiyu is moooooving!!!" She proudly showed off as she drove around the living room.

Wang Jing chuckled. She looked really adorable.

"Can can Daiyu show Uncle Tang?!"

"Of course. But be careful as you drive around the house, okay?"

"Owkay! Daiyu pwomises!" She immediately agreed and drove out of the living room with Nao Nao chasing after her.

Wang Jing laughed. Just then, his phone rang.

"What is it?" He picked it up.

" That's good. Proceed as planned."

"Yes. I want it opened before the end of the month."

"Good."

With that he put the phone down and smiled.

Meanwhile, Zhihao was having an eventful day too. He stayed in his room with the air conditioner on full blast, playing his new video game. Just then, a knock came on his door.

"Young master Zhihao, someone is looking for you" The maid hesitated.

Zhihao raised his brow. Was it Liu Jin? Did he finish his trip already?

"Who is it?" He asked.

"Er he's real sketchy young master! I'm sure you don't know him but I'm asking just in case. He says his name is Bob and he

"BOB?!"

"T-that's right

Zhihao immediately ran out of his room. He ran down the stairs, almost tripping a few times, before zooming into the living room. Finding that it was empty, he pouted.

"Where is he?" He asked the maid who was panting as she chased after the energetic boy.

"We we didn't let him in." She said in between pants.

Zhihao quickly ran out the door. He continued running and running until he reached the large metal gates of the residences.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!" He ran and tackled the young man into the ground.

"Zhi!" The young man laughed as the boy hugged him tightly.

"You're finally here!" Zhihao giggled happily.

"That's right! And they wouldn't let me in!" He pouted.

Zhihao laughed.

"Cause you look like a real thug!"

The young man was in his early teens. He was bald and had tattoos all over his body.

"Hehe. Well I've always liked this style."

"Let's go, let's go! We can talk more once were inside." Zhihao pulled him up from the ground.

Bob was the man he drank with in the afterlife.

In Zhihao's past life, Bob worked as one of his bodyguards. He was a wanted man in England who ran away from the authorities to China. There, he met a teenage Zhihao who took him in. When Zhihao died, he followed him shortly after. Then, they reunited in the afterlife.

In this lifetime, he wasn't a wanted man yet. He came looking for Zhihao the moment he reincarnated.

"Where's Jin?" He asked.

"He's on a trip with his dad."
