Immortalis : Kallisté

Hercules did this before but he tackled down a 20 footer probably, but the scale of this hydra, I'll probably need more than Hercules's strength to take this one down, literally chopping one head off would be a miraculous feat for us three combined.

we are like 600 feet away from it, distance helps us on hiding thru its field of vision, cause technically this monstrosity will destroy us in one gulp, it's head is like as big as a mini cooper car and it has five of those, not to mention that one of those heads spews poison. if we ever had lady luck on our side and might cut off one of its head, two more stronger heads will grow back and obviously we wouldn't want that.

I'm panicking inside so much, I need to recollect myself fast! cause time is not really on our side this time, we are running out of time, and we need a solution pronto.

"Nicholas what do you think we should do?" Celine asked.

"To be honest I still don't know, if we manage to cut one head..-" she interrupted me "yeah I know two more head will grow back and if my memory serves me right the heads that will regrew will be stronger that the head that's been cut" she said which I just nod in agreement.

"So wait, wait, wait are you telling me that this Monster whose as big as Godzilla is immortal? are we going to get killed right here right now?" Mike asked "No it's not, there is one way to beat it, if we manage to cut the head off and burn the wounds the head won't grow back, that's the only way to stop a hydra" I said "But with the scale of that monster, I don't think burning it would be easy" Celine said.

"And I don't think my arrows can pierce it too, but the burning part, I can help with it" Mike said.

"Not to mention on how will we can manage to cut at least one head off" Celine said.

"I don't think that arrows will pierce its hide as well" I said.

"so we can't just stir our ship away cause the stretch of this ocean is covered with poison fog, which can auto kill us in no time, our only way is that space where the hydra and the fog is not meeting?" mike said "which is an auto kill as well" he added.

"Genius we already know that, what we need right not is solution" Celine said.

"If you know that already then you might have some solution right now? huh?" Mike said which Celine answered with a glare.

we decided to come closer 600 feet turns to 500 feet away to 400 feet away, then we stopped cause its dangerously close, and the size of this 100 footer monster is so intimidating.

as we got closer and as soon as we stop 5 of its head simultaneously, and in sync opens its mouths like its grinning into where our direction is, and instantly Mike and Celine felt uneasy and creeped out.

"I think we should stop here for a moment, until we can devise a plan" I said and they both nod.

when I was about to open my mouth, a deep bellowing sound like a dinosaur roared around the area.

"I SMELL FOOD!! DEMIGODS" the voice seems to come from the Hydra.

"It can speak?!" Mike said.

"I was surprise as you are, commonly when we are facing Hydras, they are quiet and mindless but as threatening, but not as intimidating, I guess it's size is not the only thing that is big, I think it's brain evolved as well" Celine said.

"which is a big problem now" I said "Hydras without brain is a problem, but with the added brain this spells a lot of trouble" I added and Celine nodded.

"Fantastic my first hydra and its a special one already" Mike said.

"HIDING IS POINTLESS YOU KNOW DEMIGODS, I CAN HEAR YOU, I CAN SMELL YOU AND I CAN DEFINITELY TASTE YOU" the Hydra said though that last line is not good news.

"what?! did that thing just say it can taste us?!" Celine whispered.

"Nick I dont like where this is going" Mike said.

"No one likes it genius?!" Celine whispered shout at mike, I didn't know it was possible.

"Calm down you two, at least we know it has poor vision but it surely compensates it with an amazing hearing and a mile long sense of smell, which I think made everything a lot worse, sorry" I added which they replied with a facepalm but at least they are smiling.

"hey wait why dont we just use this" Mike pointed at the Golden apple of discord.

"Oh, Of course genius thats brilliant!" Celine said "I know right huh haha" Mike replied.

"Of course not genius, if that would work why we didn't used it against Limos back then!? huh" Celine said.

"Cause we are preoccupied back then? maybe" Mike said.

"Because it won't work!" Celine silently shouts at him again "The Golden apple is a weapon for mass destruction, if it used by a God or a Goddess, the apple is hard wired with a safety features like modern weapons you know" Celine said "so we can't use it?" Mike said.

"Not obvious enough huh?!" Celine said while raising a brow at Mike.

"elaborate further madam" Mike said "okay, you know in the stories where offsprings are usually, well actually always stronger than their parents? it's real, it applies to Gods and Demigods, and trusting us with this kind of weapon means suicide, and that is why they are wise enough to put a safety features, cause clearly we Demigods can end their reign like literally, we wouldn't like any of that happening right and we have more reasons to be rebellious cause specially they weren't the best parents to us" Mike and I nod in agreement in sync "so we are forbidden to use this apple?" Mike said.

"YES! At last you got it, almost took you a decade though" Celine teased him.

"haha! funny kitty" Mike teases back, to be honest this kids are making the load very light.

"but what's our plan if this apple is useless to us what can we use to defeat that or at least give us a head start against that thing?" Mike said.

"any ideas?" Celine replied, I cross my arm cause I think crossing it will help me think, which usually works but right I dont think its helping a lot, but I wish it will.

"DEMIGODS, TASTY DEMIGODS" The hydra spoke again and it kinda sniffing the air around him, the bellowing sound echoes around the ship's control room.

"ONE, NO TWO" it sniffs again "AHH THREE DELICIOUS DEMIGODS" did it just pinpoint how many are we? it's head turns into our direction and shifts again, at least it can't really pinpoint it.

"The hell is that thing, it really knows how to scare the hell out of us" Mike said.

"I agree with genius about that, we need to think of a plan pronto" Celine said.

"Pronto Indeed but what?" I said.

the fog around the monsters feet cleared up a bit and it's standing on a rock platform, though I know Hydra's are semi aquatic but I think if we manage to stall him and get a head start it wont bother following us.

"hey guys, see that bedrock platform it's in?" they both nodded "I think we can use that to our advantage" I added.

"How does that thing will help us?" Celine said.

"Knowing that Hydra's are semi aquatic but seeing it standing on a base make me wonder if it can swim well or not, and base on size I guess speed isn't one of its best assets" I said.

"Okay, Okay given that you're theory that it can't swim well is great but how does it helps us?huh?" Celine said.

"maybe if we can distract it?" Mike said "I can volley arrows on it till we past" he added.

"Genius even if you can volley shots that fast do you think 60 arrows would be enough to distract that thing? we need some extravagant distraction" Celine said.

I cross my arm and walk around to help me think, I put my hand into my pocket, and in my surprise I totally forgotten about the bottle.

"Guys I think I have the answer to our problem" I pulled out the bottle "This" I show them the small bottle.

"How does that bottle of fireflies will help us?" Mike said "I agree it kinda looked like a bottle of firefly" Celine agreed with mike.

"this is not fireflies you two?!" I said.

"Then what is it?!" Celine said.

"It's a bottle of Greek Fire, Enchanted Greek fire" I said.

"Woah?!! are you kidding me?!" Celine said.

"Greek what now?" Mike said "Fire" I said.

"Wait where did you get this?" Celine said "Its a gift from Hephaestus" I replied.

"Then this changes the tide" Celine said
