In A Anime World With A System That Only Works Once A Month!

Chapter 2 - Like Yamcha but definitely not Yamcha.

Lin Wu made sure not to stand out as the day went on.

He does this every day.

Not because he's waiting for a fair maiden to be in distress and then proceed to swiftly rescue her while overwhelming the villain like a typical harem protagonist.

He's not a chunni.

'I've grown past that stage already.'

No, the reason why he's making sure to not stand out is that he wants to live an easy life.

With great power comes great responsibility.

He doesn't want the responsibility part.

And the easiest way to get responsibility placed on you is to show off your power.

He wants to be like the main characters in the stories that he read/watched back in his world. Like Satou from 'Death March', like Lin Xiao from 'Picked up a Demon King to be a Maid', or like Yamcha from Dragon Ball who became a pro baseball player!

He didn't want to die like Yamcha though.

'Definitely not.'

"Stand up!"

A teenage girl with purple eyes wearing glasses called out, bringing his attention back to the classroom. Her fair complexion was always a beautiful sight for Lin Wu to be mesmerised by; her black hair was styled into braids as she got the class to stand up.

"Bow."

The class and Lin Wu bowed to the homeroom teacher. As the homeroom teacher was about to leave, an imaginary lightbulb lighted on top her head.

"Oh yeah! The Hero Association will be coming here next week to recruit potential interns, so if you want to apply make sure you're dressed professionally! If you don't have any professional clothes, you can come to the fashion club, and they'll get you ready with clothes and even makeup!"

The door gently shut as the students quickly swarmed Natsumi and Yuma and started to bombard them with questions.

'The Hero Association!'

Lin Wu clenched his hand in excitement. He wanted to work there!

No, not as a Hero.

That's dangerous.

He wanted to work there as a white-collar worker!

Even a janitor or a custodian will do!

Call him lame, but at least he'll be living a carefree life if he gets in!

To Lin Wu's knowledge, Boros hasn't attacked yet, which means that if he's anywhere near City A (which covers Tokyo), then he'll be in danger!

And Kuoh Academy is in Tokyo!

Lin Wu was pretty sure that this 'world' wouldn't let Boros and his alien group create as much destruction as it did in the original city. The truth is, Lin Wu wants to work in Hero Association because it'll later be turned into a massive fortress by Metal Knight, similar to Kuoh Academy's current setting except in a much larger scale.

His safety is pretty much guaranteed!

Well, he still has a lot of time before Boros attacks, so he isn't that worried. He can even anonymously send messages to the Hero Association before the attack.

Maybe he'll even send it to the government which will inform the Pro Heroes...

'Eh, I'll burn the bridge when I get to it.' Lin Wu thought to himself as he walked to the classroom door.

Bzzzzz!

Bzzzz!

His phone started vibrating as he took it out. He saw a message from a new friend of this.

"Hey! Lin Wu! I-I got yelled at for not doing the homework... Can you show me your homework? Wait! I meant I did it already! I just wanted to check over your work because I, the Great Archdemon Satanichia, Queen of all Hell, wants to make sure her loyal vassal is doing his work on time!"

'She texts exactly like how she talks.' Lin Wu shook his head as he smiled at the thought of the adorable red-hair girl holding buckets of water outside of class as punishment for not doing homework. He then sent her pictures of all of the homework due today for each and every class because he didn't know which one she needed.

Why did he take a picture of them beforehand?

Because if he lost his homework, he could have visual proof of them! One can never be overprepared! Only underprepared!

"If you have any questions, just text me back." He texted.

"Huh, it's already 20%," Lin Wu realised. He only got this new phone of his two weeks ago, and the battery is already so worn out!

He then locked his phone without waiting for the 'Great Archdemon Satanichia' to reply and put it back into his pocket.

'Maybe I should replace the battery... It's a pain to charge it every so often...'
