Anything related to Merlin is an orange or Red tier object because of the legends spread in the multiverse in his name.

The only reason it is a yellow tier reward is because of the test one has to pass to gain its ownership.

Because of the system you use it even if you don't pass but the only benefit you gain is an increased magic reserve and stronger magic attack power because of the ring in your hand when you wear it.]

This reward is quite good. Before this ring, he only gets books or array which can help him use different magic or things as such. There is no enhancer of any sort in his hand.

The Grimoire which he got was the only item which can be used while using magic. It only shortens the time of spell casting and cuts down invocations for powerful spells.

It is like storage and magic medium for him which can be a useful prop.

Normally the power of a spell weakens if certain invocations are omitted but with the Grimoire he doesn't have to worry about weakening the magic power of the spell.

Finally, with this ring, he can release his magic spell with their full strength even if he isn't using the entire incantation.

With that in mind, Thomas felt it is already good. As for whether he can get the legacy of Merlin is a bonus.

Thomas put on Merlin's ring in the index finger of his right hand.

On wearing nothing special happened. But what Thomas doesn't notice is the eyes of the dragon shone for a bit and a special field enveloped his entire body.

Thomas started feeling sleepy. He didn't find anything strange and told Daisy he is heading back to sleep and not let anybody disturb him.

He gave Lisa special instructions, she is allowed to use all possible ways to deal with anyone she perceives as a threat.

After entering the bedroom and locking the door, Thomas body crashed on the bed. If one saw this he will see that Thomas has actually fallen on the bed.

This fall is similar to that of a puppet whose strings are cut off.

All these instructions seem odd but the ring is sending these message to Thomas in his subconscious mind. One can say the ring has taken control of his body and mind while taking him to an isolated space.

As soon as Thomas wore that ring, his conscience faded and the will of the system took over his body making arrangements for his safety during the test he will be going through.

This is a sort of compensation for Thomas in case he doesn't pass this test.

Thomas finds himself in a hall. The hall was large and everything there is made of stones similar to that of stones found in the castles of medieval ages.

Thomas looked around the room to see the tapestry of knight's fighting dragon, another tapestry with some mage fighting each other as their staff glowed.

There is also a tapestry of a king surrounded by his twelve knights. It like King Arthur and the Round table Knights.

" Ah, it seems that Arthur and his round table knights attracted your attention. I guess every young blood likes a good sword and wants to be a knight. " a voice from behind startled Thomas and he stood ready to fight.

Both his hands have a magic shield and they rotated ready for action.

Thomas saw that the man was an elderly with a hunched back and a long magic staff is used to support his weight.

He seem to be around the eighties or so of a normal human if his wrinkles and voice was to take into account. He has a mage robe as one would expect from a made of medieval age.

Eyes of a person can tell a lot about that person. His eyes showed that he has large amount of knowledge and power. He is powerful, very much so that himself.

His shone brightly on seeing the way Thomas reacted.

" Ah, finally someone who reacts like a mage. So many people acted like those brazen knights drawing swords or directly attacking me even if they are wizards or mages.

You have no idea how disappointed I was with all those idiots. Good thing I failed them before they even started." The elderly complimented Thomas.

Thomas has a confused look in his eyes which the elderly noticed.

" Sorry, sorry. I haven't introduced myself, have I? Good morning young man, I am Myrddin Emyrs. Nice to meet you young man." The elderly introduced himself but Thomas still haven't recognised him so he gave him the name which everyone recognizes, " But the world know me as Merlin. "

This information shocked Thomas for he is in front of the man whose very presence has affected the Multiverse. He is a man who has left a legend in every world and is considered one if the strongest of all times.

He is both excited and frightened to meet him face to face.

None of these emotions are hidden from Merlin and he let the young mage in front of him come to terms with his identity himself. He has seen many mages react similarly.

At first he told them not to react so fiercely and just treat him as a normal mage with whom he met. But, it never seems to work. So he gave up trying and let them recover their emotions themselves.

Seeing that Merlin is looking at him waiting for his introduction, he calmed his raging nerves and introduced himself, " I am Thomas Allens, a Grand Mage. "

" Hohoho, I must say I am impressed. You, young Thomas is one of the most talented mages I have ever met.

To think one can reach this level at such a young age, without a teacher or guide is impressive if I say so myself. " Merlin complimented his talent in the field of Arcane and magic arts.

Thomas blushed and also felt proud when he is complimented by Merlin. After all, anyone will feel that way when a legend like Merlin compliments him.

But at that time Thomas noticed something about his words. " How did you know I dont have a teacher?" Thomas asked the Legendary mage.

Merlin felt even more happy when Thomas asked him this question. It showed he is smart and can grasp small details whoch is very essential for the mages.

" Every Mage has an imprint on them when they learn the magic under someone whether it be a person or an institute. This is something which is consistent in every world no matter which universe it is. "

"Universe? You know existence of different universe?" Thomas asked the elder mage.

" Of course. If I dont know the existence of different universe than the universe I am from. "

" How?" Thomas asked knowing more about this.

Merlin didnt feel anything wrong in explaining it to the young mage, "It is simple. I create this realm for the sake of testing my successor.

I have many students in my life but they weren't skilled or powerful enough to be my true successor. So before my death, I and the other Merlin in different world set up a test where our relics will serve as a gateway to bring the mage who wish for our inheritance.

Here they are tested and if they lass they become the true successor of Merlin in that universe. Sometimes, our artifact travel to other universe via holes in the void. So it isnt a surprise you will be from a different universe.

Every Merlin before death left an imprint like me who are the examiners and test the candidate as per the criteria they have set. So are you ready?"
