“Is the West Wolf Hall nuts? Even the Sect Lord’s words must be suspected?” Tie Liuyun argued.

“Tie Liuyun, that’s the West Wolf Hall’s duty! They suspect Wang Ke. What’s wrong with that? You are the one disregarding the Heavenly Wolf Sect’s rules!” Murong Luguang retorted.

And so, Tie Liuyun and Murong Luguang continued their opposing stance. Wang Ke frowned a little as he saw the situation unfold.

Is this really the West Wolf Hall faithfully carrying out their duties, or is there someone scheming against me again?

“Second senior apprentice-brother, please calm down,” said Wang Ke and pulled Tie Liuyun aside.

“Junior brother, don’t worry, you just arrived here. You don’t know how many of my junior brothers have been troubled by the West Wolf Hall, and now they are turning their eyes on you. I won’t let anyone bully you!” Tie Liuyun replied.

“Thank you, second senior apprentice-brother!” Wang Ke nodded in gratitude.

He then turned to look at Bai Jin and said, “Senior apprentice-brother from the West Wolf Hall… Heh, may I know how you wish for me to prove myself? Should I release my essence Qi for you to see whether it’s demonic Qi?”

Bai Jin shook his head, “Sun Song and other demons infiltrated our sect recently, which led to the alarm bell being rung. The demons’ schemes are increasing; we won’t be able to detect anything if they have artifacts to mask their essence Qi, or if their Demon Sovereign can cast a spell to hide demonic Qi!”

“What do you want me to do then?” Wang Ke asked.

“We have powerful artifacts in each of our halls which can detect hidden demonic Qi!” Bai Jin answered, “The artifacts are usually carried by the Hall Lords. Fortunately, the East Wolf Hall’s artifact was left here in the sect. That is why I invited our eldest apprentice-brother to bring the East Wolf Hall’s ‘Righteous-Qi Sword’ to prove your innocence!”

“The Righteous-Qi Sword?” Wang Ke was a little lost.

“The four Hall Lords have powerful artifacts which represent their identity. The East Wolf Hall’s artifact is the Righteous-Qi Sword. It could be said that She Miejue knew she had fallen into the demonic ways, so she left the Righteous-Qi Sword here because her heart was still righteous!” Tie Liuyun said solemnly.

Murong Luguang then took out a jade-encrusted scabbard; inside it was a silver sword which emanated a milky-white Qi!

“This is the Righteous-Qi Sword. If you hold this sword, any hidden demonic Qi will be exposed! Go on!” Murong Luguang said.

Although many believed that Wang Ke was innocent, no one objected to the West Wolf Hall taking their duty seriously.

“The Righteous-Qi Sword?” Wang Ke muttered to himself doubtfully.

“That’s right. It’s the Righteous-Qi Sword! It can inspect your essence Qi! It shall prove your case!” Murong Luguang continued to push Wang Ke with words.

"If I heard correctly, the Righteous-Qi Sword is a symbol of the East Wolf Hall Lord's identity. That means only the East Wolf Hall Lord can use it, right? Murong Luguang, how can you just take it out on your own?" Wang Ke asked curiously.

“Hmm?” Everyone was shocked.

Murong Luguang's face turned grim; after all, Wang Ke was telling the truth. Still, the East Wolf Hall lacked a leader right then, so of course they looked toward Murong Luguang to lead them. The latter had wielded the Righteous-Qi Sword before, so he didn't see it as a big deal. But, by right he shouldn’t have taken it! He was not the East Wolf Hall Lord! He wasn’t fit to take it!

"Wang Ke, don't try to divert the topic. The test will prove your innocence; why are you trying to stall for time? Is it because you’re afraid?" Bai Jin said

"That's right, Wang Ke. Use the Righteous-Qi Sword to prove yourself!" Murong Luguang agreed.

"You didn’t follow the rules, yet you demand that I follow them? What kind of reasoning is that? I won’t abide!” Wang Ke objected with a deep voice.

“Wang Ke, if you don’t go through the test, that would mean that you’re an undercover agent sent by the Demon Sovereign!” Murong Luguang warned.

But Wang Ke shook his head and rebutted, “My unwillingness is because of the Righteous-Qi Sword. You didn’t obtain it rightfully; what has that got to do with being the Demon Sovereign’s undercover agent? Murong Luguang, if you were the East Wolf Hall Lord, you would indeed be qualified to demand such a thing from me! But you’re not! You don’t get to do that!”

“You!” Murong Luguang glared at him.

The other apprentices who supported Wang Ke just then looked doubtful. What is Wang Ke planning to do?Could he really be a spy?

“Wang Ke,” Tie Liuyun said with concern, “Why not just agree? Wouldn’t that prove your innocence? Why aren’t you willing to do it? This may cause more misunderstandings!”

Tie Liuyun was at a loss for words.

Zhang Zhengdao spoke up. “What Wang Ke means is that you’re giving him nothing in return. Why should he waste time with all of you? Wang Ke can earn a few hundred thousand pounds of spirit stones in just half an hour. Complying to all your unreasonable requests is a waste of money!”

Wang Ke glanced at Zhang Zhengdao and thought, He knows me best!

“You want benefits in return for proving your innocence?” Murong Luguang was taken by surprise.

Zhang Zhengdao continued his extortion attempt. “What do you mean proving his innocence? He’s innocent, to begin with; you are the ones who tried and failed to pour dirty water on his face.
