The tunnel was made with solid stone, weathered in the dust, dead mice, and spider-web. Though the passage is apparently frequently being put to use, I could discern some foot mark lingering on the floor leading it deeper to the tunnel.

It might be a channel for a smuggler or the likes. Perhaps a sort of secret base operation. And I inclined to explore and found it, just yet. Not without me, have the full insight of what my limit and capability are, not to mention the general strength of fantasy dwellers in this world.

For now, I settled with another passage that leads to a sewer system of the city.

It's fairly easy to access as it was locked behind bars. It makes me remember the sewer in the Oblivion game. And luckily, I wore the thief guild leather armor. It has some spare lockpick behind the numerous pocket it held.

A source of light may attract unnecessary attention. Better be prepared and wary, than being caught in surprise and face the full brunt of consequences. Shit tends to happen whether you least or expected it. It wasn't necessary either, with Khajiit natural eyesight I could discern pretty much inside the darkness and it comes with a full-set of s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e hearing and smell, though it isn't the best prominent features of a Khajiit.

After a few minutes of a walk beside the flowing, green sewage, I came with another passage to the left leading to a wooden door.

Thud.

It's locked. I grab a lockpick, twiddling it around the keyhole.

One, two, and spin.

Click.

It revealed yet empty room, as barrels on the corner gathered in dust and mice scurried away to their hole. Dirt flew around, I cast a basic wind spell which gathered the dirt, and suspending it on the air before throwing it outside.

I found other than some vanilla spells, much to my delight, almost the entirety of my modded spell repertoire was also included. Such as the wind spell before, which didn't exist in vanilla Skyrim.

Before going deeper, and search the limit, I gathered the mana as red and blue swirl pooled in both of my hands.

Detect spell. Death and life, the living and the undead.

It was done for precaution.

No sign of aura or any life force within 300m, I experimented with the spells and put more energy into it. It expanded into 600m and still no sign, other than the life above which I presumed the surface dwellers. Oh, I almost not noticed a red aura beside me. Silly me, to not account something so near.

"This one is curious, what do you need, hmm?"

I asked to particularly no one, Silent is what I get.

Silence is the music of life! Shouted the black door, even they aren't that quite not when teased of course, which pretty weird since it's something impossible to do in-game.

"Come out now, don't be shy. This one won't bite."

Yeah, I know, it was a peculiar way of talking. But I realize, it forced me to adapt to those of Khajiit, at least I could talk normally within the scope of my own mind.

Then a green shadow manifested in front of me, which remind me of the teleportation effect of Hermaeus Mora, the Daedric Prince of knowledge and memory when he transported me to his realm. Excluding the tentacles of course.

A robe as tattered as the beggar prince, and as dark as the ebon steel greeted me with a cordial bow. Intriguing, I could gleam behind the darkness of the hood, it revealed a glimpse of a skull.

"I'm known as Fels. I seek an answer, the current disturbance on the surface, is it because of you?"

The robed figures asked, politely. Hmm, certainly my tails almost purred in happiness, being addressed in such a polite manner after a long time.

"You're correct, alas this one didn't know the cause why they were chasing me? Is prejudice against a race is so prominent among your kinds, hmm?"

I tried to ask subtly, this is the first contact, at least cordially to the being in this world. Well, you know, robed figures that maybe a living undead judging by earlier evidence may be the most secretive bunch behind may be perhaps the greatest conspiracy or some vile organization in this city.

Who knows what they're plotting, with a wild card thrown into the gameboard namely in the form of adorable and fluffy walking fur that could crush your bone like a twig in a hug.

"Matters not, the race above is in cordial relation. Although, they may contain a great prejudice against your race or the appearance at least. I take it they must be mistaking you for a mindless monster dwelled in the dungeon."

Granted, I could at least discern a few races that work together in the team when I was chased. The mangy-dog, the stripper, the knight, and the man child. They support each other almost flawlessly, and even without order, they could read each other minds to get a better grasp of the next action. Such coordination can only be found If their bond is as close as camaraderie or perhaps family.

"I see. Then why is it? This one is confident in his appearances, brave, strong, yet gentle. Why then, they were afraid of me?"

I know, I'm exposing my weakness here. Namely the lack of basic knowledge and information. If he did not take the bait, then I can at least be less wary of him, but if not… Meridia will be pleased with what am I about to do next.

"I can understand your frustration. I have been dealing, and form a relationship with numerous of your kind, most of them asked the same question. Then let me tell you, the tales of brave heroes and the endless pit of monsters they slay."

I clicked my fingers as two chairs and table manifested between us. Conjuration spell is surely convenient.

Looks like this will be a long talk, it seems.
