It Turns Out That I Have a Fiancee, but She Is the Famous “Villainess” of the School. What Should I

The private school I attend, Tian Eikan High School, is on the “moderate” level of a preparatory school. The back of the school building at such an advanced school is not a place where yankees hang out and smoke cigarettes, nor is it a place where students go to mount each other and say, “Let’s meet up at the back of the building after school ”.  Rather, it’s a famous “confession spot” . For example when you find a letterhead with a heart on it on your desk or in your shoe box, you would definitely head there with a pounding heart.

“Are you even listening to me?”

I mean, I should be but…

“Well..”

I mean, we’ve never met before, right? And yet, what’s with your overbearing attitude? 

But well… She’s a “villainess”, so yeah.

“So it was true after all..”

A beautiful girl who rhythmically tapped her left arm with the index finger of her right hand with her crossed arms is currently in front of me. (E/N: Ah… how the h**l am I supposed to make this easier to read?) (T/N: Read it a few times lads. It took me a few tries too)

This owner of that haughty attitude, which was not close to something like a “confession of love,” is from Ayane Kiryu, a second-year student at Tian Eikan High School.

She is famous among the second-year students at my school, for being one of the most beautiful girls in the whole school. She’s from a rich family, has excellent grades, and is an all-around athlete. She is a perfect young lady who you would think of as someone who came out of an anime, manga, or light novel. A perfect young lady, but the problem is…

“Hey! Are you listening to me? Answer me! Reply!  What? You can’t even answer a simple question?”

As you can see, her mouth and personality are, well, devastatingly bad. No wonder she was given the nickname “The Villainess”.

“Sorry, It’s not that I can’t answer, it’s just that I am surprised. You became my fiancée  as well, shouldn’t you be surprised too?”

“Yeah. Well, honestly when I heard “You have a fiance and he goes to the same school I do.” I had a bad feeling about it.”

“A bad feeling?”

“You’re from a branch of the Higashi Kujo clan, aren’t you? The moment I heard that my fiance is at this school, I instantly thought of you”

“Really?”

I’m not that popular in school though. As if to answer my question, Kiryu gives me a slightly disdainful look and snorts.

“Don’t get me wrong? I wasn’t looking at “you”. I was looking at “Higashi Kujo”.

“Is there really a difference?”

“Isn’t that obvious? I have absolutely no interest in you personally. Higashi-Kujo is a prestigious name that has been associated with the Five Regent Houses* for a long time. The best way to make a good match is to complement the “weak points” of our family.”(E/N: Good match or proper political arrangement, basically it means a good combination for business reasons.)

With that said, Kiryu glares at me with a look of loathing. Scary.

“Well if it’s a good match, then good for you”

At that moment, Kiryu looked like an angry cat with its fur standing up.

“There’s no way this is good!  What are you talking about?! Why are you, a dull, and ditzy boy at school, now my fiance?! I can’t allow this to happen!”

She stares at me angrily saying so. I have tears floating in the corner of my eyes. Tears!

“Well, that’s the same for me! Why the h**l are you my fiancee! If I would want a fiancee, I would rather have a graceful one!”

Why are you acting like you’re the only victim here! That goes to the both of us!  If anything, I’m the victim here!  Your dad came up with this! My preference is Yamato Nadeshiko!　I don’t want a  “villainess”! ( T/N: Yamato Nadeshiko is a term used to mean “the epitome of pure, feminine beauty”. Basically a human goddess )

“Rude! I’m good-looking, have good grades, and athletic! It’s a miracle that I still don’t have a boyfriend until now!”

“What? What’s so great about you, you idiot. You can’t get a boyfriend because you have a terrible personality!” 

“You’re the one who looks like a mob character! Aah! I’m shocked! I would have preferred a more handsome fiancee like a Prince Charming on a white horse than you!”

“Oh, no!　What’s with the Prince Charming on a white horse? Girlish taste.　That’s–oh, I see. You’re a “villainess,”. Of course you’d love to be with a Prince Charming on a white horse, wouldn’t you?”

“Kaccchin~, I hate that nickname the most! Who’s the villainess, who is it?!” (T/N: That’s sneezing sfx btw)

“Right here!”

“Don’t hold out a mirror! Why do you even have that, are you a girl?!”

When I point the hand mirror from my bag at her, she slaps my hand with a snap. Ow!

“Fufufu~ Well that’s better”

“No! It’s not better at all”

“All is good.  Besides, do you have time to spare?“

“I have classes.”

“Are you really that stupid? You’re in the same class as me.

Kiryu turns her cold gaze towards me. What’s with that look? With the way things are going right now and with your bad character, I’m thinking that you were going to force me to clear my schedule didn’t you?!

“I’m free after school.”

“Then stay with me for a while. My father has prepared a new house for us to live in.”

“A new house?”

“My Father is very excited about this. He told me he got a new house for us to live in that’s close to the school.”

Then Kiryu slumps her shoulders and exhales a sigh. At the sight of her, I regain a little bit of my composure.

“Pretty well prepared I see.”

“I thought it was weird that I had to transfer to Tian Eikan High School. So this is what you were after Father…”

“Ah! You went to a private middle school right?”

There was a big commotion back then. The thing people talked about was that there was a “young lady from St. Helena” among the new students

“That’s right. Father told me that “It is important to learn about the lives of the common people as well. Being a purely educated young lady won’t help you go far’ But the apartment he bought wasn’t even close to the school. I was tricked…”

The sight of Kiryu gritting her teeth is a little scary. The fact that she’s a beautiful girl makes it all the more frightening.

“Anyway, that’s why you should leave your schedule open after school. I’ll pick you up after class. And just so you know, you don’t have veto power.”

“Me?”

“Unfortunately neither do I. I have to show you around the house, so come with me.”

“I could go alone?”

“You don’t know where it is, do you? It’s very time-consuming, I have no choice, so I’ll go with you.”

I looked over at Kiryu, who then turned away and walked toward the school building, looking at me as if to say “You should be thankful”

“This is the worst..”

I couldn’t help but feel a sliver of anxiety in my life hereon.
