Its Just A Game

A few days later Bob was standing in front of two separate crowds separated by a black line on the right side there was Goblin, Kobolds, Wolves and Ratmen making up the bulk of that side while the left side was made up of Orcs, Minotaurs, Ogres and Giant Boars. (AN. These races aren't the only races, but hey will be the ones I will refer to mostly.)

Straitening my back I stepped forward with Drexar and Drie beside me.

"I would first off like to thank everyone one here for volunteering to join the army, As you may all know we have postponed the general training to focus more on an army. I know most of you know why we have switched up our plans but for those of you who don't, I believe you have heard of the holy kingdom the ones leading there so called a crusade against the unholy races.

We have also found out one of their biggest reasons for taking the amount of captives they are." Gesturing to my side DrexarPulls out a piece of paper that is covered in inscriptions.

"This piece of paper here is what they are calling a skill book, page or scroll. As the close may notice the top of this page there is a name of a familiar skill for most of you Mace mastery and then 5000 xp to the side of it. Now, these skill pages are not as simple as they seem as they need someone with the experience in the skill to take it from and no one would willingly give away there hard earned experience in their skills. So, they have resorted to taking captives and having them grind skill experience and then taking it from them, For their soldiers use. Luckily we had a slightly greed spy on their part that didn't use there skill page and sold it to us so he would get to live."

Looking among the crowds I notice some murmuring and worry among the groups. "There is some good news from this, It means for any of you who have lost and friends or family while coming here they may still be alive only working in there grind camps. Finally with a little help from a Lich Formation master and inscription master. We have developed our sort of Skill page."

(AN. Ok, So I know that in an early chapter I said that if someone got to bobs temple their family would be teleported to sanctuary. Gesturing towards Drie she pulls out a piece of paper completely covered in inscriptions inside of a small formation. From the side of the stage, Huttel Was walking towards us with a giant of a goblin behind her carrying a scout we caught. The Giant goblin moved in front of Drie placing the man down facing towards the crowd.

"ITS YOU. I SWORE I WOULD RIP YOUR LIMBS OFF AND LEAVE YOU FOR THE INSECTS AND I GUESS I AM LUCKY."

Looking towards the crowd I saw a Large Human Storming his way towards the stage. What was before me, was a man that was 7 feet tall with a spiked spine that stuck out of flesh leading down to a tail that ended in a club-like shape. The rest of his body looked like it was made of pure muscle as his arms were as thick as a man while his legs were as thick as two.

The man who was currently looking on the ground with a semi lifeless look in his eyes sparked to life as he looked up towards the being that currently was making its way towards him before bursting out in laughter.

"I remember you your the one with the 3 daughters correct. I have to say they are quite the crazy Bunch when they are pumped full of aphrodisiac's I swear they were going at it for like 3-4 days before it wore off. We had to call almost an entire platoon to satisfy them. But your wife was something out of this world she took two entire platoons before we managed to tame that one." Crackling to himself as he stared at the man from the crowd Throwing him a warped smile.

"Don't worry about your daughter they are in good hands." The man was staring at the giant before him that was reaching his hand out about to grab him only to be stopped by Drie.

"Looking towards the man that turned his hate-filled eyes towards me. "Sorry Mate, We kinda need him alive for our demonstrations so would you be willing to wait a little as we get a healer as we will need him alive."

They hate filled eyes quickly became questioning. "I will not get in the way of your revenge. But at the same time, I do need him for this demonstration. This would be perfect. So I could let you do the demonstration for us it won't be ripping his arms off or anything but I can promise you that he will feel ungodly amounts of pain."

Waving him onto the stage as he moved his hate-filled eyes towards the man kneeling on the ground who started to look worried. "Ok, to use this is quite simple first off you will want direct skin contact. Which is already prepared now All I need you to do is place the piece of paper that's in Dries's hand on his back and let it do its work.

Grabbing the piece of paper he walked over towards the man before slamming it onto his back sending him sprawling into the crowd.

"I guess that works." After a few seconds, Screams Broke out from the middle of the crowd as the man from before was convulsing on the ground as blood started pouring out of all the openings his body had created a growing pool of blood. After a few more seconds of convulsing. his body went limp. "Moving over to where the body was I flipped it over peeling the piece of paper off his back before making my way towards the stage. "Now I know it may have been a little bit disturbing but we managed to create our skill page that works as you have seen. it just has one downside it kills whoever it's used on as it rips there soul to shreds looking for whatever it can turn into a skill. In all honesty, we are trying to figure out how to not kill them on use but at the moment this is what we got and it works." Moving over to the man staring at the body laying on the ground.

"He is not dead his heart still beats."

"Well, his body isn't dead which is surprising with all the blood loss. But his soul has been destroyed meaning the body is a soulless husk I will probably give to the goblins as the s.u.c.c.u.b.u.s wouldn't want something that doesn't react. Ohh and this is for you." Sticking my hand out with the paper towards the man just staring at the body he reaches out grabbing the piece of paper.

"Now its time to get to what you are all called here for. Drexar has thought a good form of training would be a miniature war. So we split the teams into the groups. The independent strong and the group minded weak. So you may be wondering I brought this giant lump of flesh here and that's because I don't want anyone dying or holding back so this will create you a temporary body."

Looking among the groups as they are paying attention attentively. I honestly thought they would care more about the guy that just died horribly but I guess living in a world where someone dies like that every other day does change your view somewhat. Maybe also a pinch of hate for the people also.

"So you among your selves will have to select a leader, This leader will be the one to be leading your mini-campaign against the other team. Now you will have to be able to keep your leader safe as if they Die you lose and will only receive half of today's pay. While the other team will receive the other half. Also, you will be paid once a week at the end of the week. Ohh ya also you will be going to that pocket dimension so one day out here is equal to about a month in there. Now each group will be placed in two locations and given a map of where you are located and how big of an area you can operate in. No other information will be given. Lastly, the leader will be able to head to the city which will be labelled on your map to trade for gear for your army and any gear traded at the end will be allowed to be kept after. So choose wisely.

Now please select your leaders and then present them to me."

Quickly the two groups got to work discussing among themselves the side to my left created a mini-ring where they started having fights to determine the strongest. While the right side I have all honesty no clue what they were doing as they were on all fours crawling on the ground.

after an hour two finally made their way towards me what was surprising was that it took the longest for the right side to choose their leader doing whatever they were doing. From the left side a Lizzard man came forward he was carrying a giant greatsword easily the size of his entire body while on the right side they sent a ratman that was covered in a long piece of cloth stitched together to make a cloak while he was carrying a staff made up of broken weapons parts of wagons and who knew what else.

"Now that it seems you are ready please go place your hands into the slab of flesh and then continue to the portal on the other side."

Watching the two continue forward disappearing into the flesh before the next group came up. One after another before they were all inside of the flesh mound. Moving to behind the other side of the portal I stepped through alongside the other two what greeted us was a bustling construction site as all around us people were running around carrying various resources from one place to another. What was being built before me was gonna be where we are moving all the craftsmen that we have found and a bunch of gathers to collect the various resources that grow here. IT was gonna be a crafting city or city one of 3. We are setting up a city in the volcanic area and the jungle beside this one in the plains right next to the forest and an ocean. Moving to a spot by the ocean there was a desk with all my supplies on it. Sitting down getting to work as Drexar and Drie went to watch our tow groups.

Pov A third party

The left group was teleported in at the edge of the plains while the right group teleported in at the Forest about 1km from each other.

Among the left group, the leader quickly started giving orders to cut down trees to any that carried an axe while getting the stronger ones to be ready to collect the trunks moving them to various locations to get prepared to be turned into walls while he was getting a group of Ape type Demon beasts to scout the area of the forest while sending a group of panthers to scout out the Plains around them. Tho they were efficient to get started many accidents started due to a lack of attention to the surrounding from the larger members of the group as they would shove there way as they were getting to places.

Meanwhile, within the right group, small hordes of goblins riding wolves made their way through the forest as fast as they could scanning over the forest as fast as they possibly could spreading out in every direction creating a fan type look. While in the group they were cutting all the trees around them down while bringing them into a pile. Just they were slow as almost none among them could move the entire trunks they had to cut the trunks into sections before moving them.

Pov Goblin Wolf scout

Leader, Wants us to find the other group and then report back.

So we were originally gonna run through the woods but these wolves seemed to call for us.

We went to wolves and mounted wolves.

Wolves didn't like it much for a tiny time before liking it.

Now we ride wolves through the forest.

We have 11 Scouters, no we have 12 Scouters cause I a scouter.

lookin down at wolf carrying me it was smaller than the rest it but it was faster than the rest.

Quickly looking to my side I see a big monkey hiding behind tree staring at me.

Grabbing me horn I blew into it. Quickly many other horn noises sounded from behind me passing on me message to others.

After the horn blew the Ape started charging at me but I was lucky me wolf faster we ran around big monkey waiting for others.

Soon others joined us, They started throwing rocks and poison knives at big monkey as it was already tired from following me in a circle it just curled up as it started roaring. Soon many other roars started happening and they were coming closer.

Wolves seem to panic a little under at the roars and they started to leap at the big ape biting and clawing at it only to be swatted at. Soon we had to run as many big monkeys started to show up and help other big monkey.

But me smarter they came from grassy area so me and others search grassy area.

after 5 mins the goblin riders came close to the exit of the forest to notice trees being cut down and dragged away. But they didn't engage but turned around heading back to where they came. A bit into the forest a group of angry apes were chasing a goblin that was flying through the forest on the back of a wolf as it hurled insults and random throwing weapons back towards the apes which only further increased there anger towards the pesky little goblin running away from them as now and then its would blow into a horn. Soon the apes were deep into the right team's territory unknowingly. After a while, the goblin stopped running and turned around facing the Apes surprising the apes before they started looking around Worried only to notice multiple goblins kobolds and Ratmen coming out of cover around them with ranged weapons dripping a neon green substance. Before a rain of ranged fire started pelting them. Unsurprisingly they succ.u.mbed to the poison on the weapons within the matter of a few shots decimating the Ape scouting party.

Over on the left side, their leader was moving around the mase that was quickly forming handing out other assignments to groups that were starting to idle about while also forming several patrol groups and inquiring about the horns and if anyone knew what they could mean.

While on the Right sides they were working on building a wall out of interlocking wooden pieces. it would just take a few more days before they had the wall done. While they were working on the wall various Ratmen Plague bearers were mixing different types of poisons. while the goblins made wooden contraptions from the Scraps from there wall blocks and the Kobolds were making their rounds. While wolves were working with some giant ants to move around resources.

Pov The Left sides leader. 18 hours later

There are problems we have not heard from any scouts we have sent into the forest and a few patrols have started disappearing. We have only managed to catch one pesky goblin hunting group bringing back there pray they caught but otherwise we have only seen those pesky little buggers shadows as they are running around in the dark and on those wolves. The Panthers are having trouble also catching the scent of them as they are spreading some vile scent among the forest that is masking there scent and causing it so any of us with s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e noses are not willing to enter the forest.

"WE HAVE A PROBLEM."

An Orc came running into my makeshift tent while carrying behind him the body of a Minotaur which was twitching while green puss was leaking out of its body.

"What happened to him."

"He just collapsed and then a few seconds later everyone around him was to They were feasting on the prey that we took from the goblins. So I ordered everyone to not eat anymore but it's already too late as at least half of everyone here has had some and they are dropping like flies.

"F.u.c.k, The food was a trap they wanted us to catch them. I should have knew it they just abandoned there prey the moment we showed up. Why would we of found them after they were so perfectly hidden already."

Soon the ground started to shake and several Arrows smashed into the tent exploding into a green mist that spread throughout the room causing me to become light headed as the Orc collapsed to the ground foaming out of his mouth. Quickly covering my mouth I made my way out o the tent as several of these arrows were landed throughout the camp with many like me covering their mouths. Soon giant mounds of dirt below us burst out of the ground as some giant ants came piling out but soon quickly into the ground but they were followed by Goblins wearing some weird mask and ratmen charging out with weapons with a neon liquid dripping from it as they attacked all the surprised people. Quickly killing everyone around me only for a sharp piercing pain to be felt from my neck as I fell to the ground before everything Faded.
