Jack Schnee [RWBY]

As I was observing this painting, Kim called me over saying that her mother is in town and she would like to meet. I look back at the painting one last time before heading out with my team to go see Kim's mom. After another ten minutes of walking, we made our way to the spot Kim's mom wanted to meet up at. We made it to an open plaza with a water fountain in the middle of it. Sitting on the fountain was a tall, attractive lady with long orange hair. She must be Kim's mom, the resemblance is uncanny.

Kim: Hey, mom.

Kim's Mom: Hey. How are you doing sweetie?

Kim: Mom, please don't embarrass me in front of my friends.

Kim's Mom: Why not? It's my job.

Kim: Anyway, the one wearing a dumb grin on his face with the pink hair is Olga. The one with black and white hair is Jack. Last but not least, my only female companion on my team is Eve.

Kim's Mom: It's nice to meet all of you. I imagined that you would be more frightening or depressed considering your huntsmen, like the other gentleman I met coming to this town.

Kim: Another gentleman?

Kim's Mom: I didn't get his name but he was an older gentleman with a red cape that faintly reeked of booze.

Kim: I told you that not all huntsmen and huntresses get depressed or killed.

Kim's Mom: You only say that because you want to be one. You're lucky your father isn't here to knock some sense into you.

Olga: Not that I want to interrupt such a touching reunion, but if we don't start the tour it'll get dark before we know it.

We showed Kim's mom around town, but it seemed like the tension between Kim and her mom never really faded no matter what we did or said. I wondered what her mom did since she isn't a huntress like Kim or Glynda. I asked Kima and she said that her mom is a well-known musician. She travels all over the four kingdoms to make money and share her musical abilities with the world. Kim also told me that she believes that true peace can only be obtained through the power of music and that huntsmen and huntresses make everything worse. It made me curious as to how Kim developed the feeling of wanting to be a huntress if her mom opposed it so strongly. Becoming a huntress isn't something that isn't decided overnight after all. Eventually, we made our way to the academy where we said our goodbyes to Kim's mom and headed inside.

Olga: I can't stand that woman.

Eve: Aren't you being ins.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to Kim when you say that?

Olga: I'm sorry, but she was so annoying and complained about every little thing.

Jack: I have to admit it was exhausting listening to it.

Kim: Its okay guys I know she's a pain to be around. I thought maybe she changed a little after we separated but she still the same as ever.

Olga: Usually I would jump at the chance to learn secrets but I honestly don't care right now.

Jack: That's surprising.

Olga: I'm human as well.

Eve: Now that we're back we probably won't see her until the tournament starts.

As we were talking I saw three people walking towards our dorm. Two of them were female and one of them was male. All three of them seem to be wearing the uniforms of Haven Academy. It took me a second but after I saw their hair color everything snapped into place. I'd recognize that gray and mint green hair anywhere. These people were Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald. They're here to destroy Beacon and reclaim the maiden's power for themselves. All the years I've been at the mansion has taught me to control my emotions and make sure that I behave properly in any situation. I calm myself down and decide to befriend these people. After all, you have to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I get my friend's attention and tell them that we should welcome our competition to the tournament before we go to bed. Everyone was up for it except Olga who seems to just wants to go to bed. We walk up and introduce ourselves to the trio.

Emerald: Hey. This festival is pretty great.

Kim: I'm glad that so many people can enjoy an awesome event like this.

Mercury: Well, the tournament is going to be the best part.

Eve: Why do you say that?

Mercury: Its because were going to compete and win.

Olga: Win. Don't you think you're underestimating us a little?

Mercury: Maybe I am but I doubt it.

Olga: You might be a little too arrogant for your own good.

Cinder: We still need to find our dorms, so we'll talk at a later date.

Jack: Why don't I help you guys out? I know this place like the back of my hand.

Emerald: Why not?

I help them find their rooms and head back to my room. I'm not strong enough as I am now, especially against Cinder. I'll need more power to make it happen. The only thing that could drastically increase my strength is my grimoire. I decided that this time I'll go alone. I did make a promise to Ozpin that I wouldn't tell people and with the Dark Phantom running around I'm not 100% sure who I can trust. I look through the chapters of the book and see one of them says "The Unshakable Hero." This one looks like a pretty good one to go into. Hopefully, he's a good guy because I don't want another repeat of the Dark Phantom chapter. This time I made sure I was wearing all of my gear before I headed into the book. I opened the book to the chapter and I saw the familiar white light. I wonder how it'll go this time.
