Jack Schnee [RWBY]

My team and I are in the Amity Colosseum eagerly waiting for what field is going to be chosen for our match. I look over to see our opponents looking back at us with confidence in their eyes. I never would've thought that Sun and his team would be fighting us as our first opponents. I would've loved to crush Cinder's team but I guess lady luck wasn't smiling on me today. I could see that the field chosen on Sun's side was a forest. It's a plain choice considering all the options available. Not too long after our side's biome was chosen to be a desert field. I look over to my right to see the screen showing the two commentators on our battle. Dr. Oobleck, the short green-haired professor, was commentating alongside Professor Freeze. An odd duo but who am I to complain about who's commentating.

Dr. Oobleck: Oh, yes. Today we have a splendid match ahead of us with one of our very own against Shade Academy. We should go over who from who everyone is for our viewers at home. From our very own academy, we have Jack the leader of team JOKE. A sword-wielding team leader with a powerful semblance that will surely aid him in battle. Next, we have the staff-wielding beauty Kim who has a nice combat, semblance balance that she performs excellently well when she fights. Then, no one could forget the skirt chaser Olga and his aggressive fighting style. Last but not least, we have Eve who supports the team and makes sure they have more opportunities to attack.

Prof. Freeze: On the opposing side, we have the charismatic leader Sun who's a strong fighter and a relatively good team leader. Next, we have Sage, the green-haired swordsman who wields a giant sword to take down their enemies. The pirate-themed character called Scarlet that fights with a cutlass and a pistol on his belt. Last but not least, we have Neptune, the ladies man, who I want to see fight against Olga.

Dr. Oobleck: Why?

Prof. Freeze: Ladies man vs Skirt chaser.

Dr. Oobleck: Interesting opinion. Anyway, we will see a battle of wills, a clash of skill and strength, and most importantly to see how well the students can perform in battle as a team. Truly, it is a great day ahead of us and to our massive audience. Mrs. Freeze, do you have anything to add?

Prof. Freeze: I believe that I will have to reserve all judgments about the teams until they perform today but I am interested to see how certain people perform in this tournament.

Dr. Oobleck: Excellent, I as well wish to see what awaits us. I must add that desert, forest combo is indeed interesting. It would be a wonder how the participants will use the field to their advantage or if they use it all.

Prof. Freeze: We will see in 3, 2, 1.

Dr. Oobleck: BEGIN!

Instantly, I summon Bagels and the Nevermore onto the field. I tell Eve to hop onto the Nevermore and she takes to the skies above. I send Bagels after Neptune while Olga advance towards Sage. He swings his giant sword down onto Olga but Olga blocks it with his bracelet and tries to sweep his legs. He falls over but managed to counter Olga's strike to his face. Meanwhile, Kim launches herself at Sun and thrusts her staff at him. Sun smoothly dodges out of the way and starts shooting the gun at Kim. Kim quickly maneuvered her staff into a spin to block all the incoming bullets. Scarlet tries to attack Kim from the side but Eve provides cover fire from above and makes him miss his attack. He then switches targets and goes after me. I dodge his attack and turn the dial on Light into green dust. I swing my blade to counterattack and he is pushed back a fair distance away. I slash again at him and send a blade of wind in his direction. He dodges out of the way and the blade of wind hits Olga on the back. Oops, my bad.

Dr. Oobleck: Ooh, some friendly fire. Too bad it wasn't fire. It would've hurt a lot more and I could've made a pun.

Prof. Freeze: No puns, please.

Olga is understandably rattled as Sage takes the opportunity to knock Olga into the ground. I look over past Olga to see Bagels chasing down Neptune and knocking over various trees in the process. Neptune looks a little worse for wear but I'm not sure if its because he actually took damage or because he's frantically trying to avoid Bagels attacks. Either way, Neptune isn't going to be counted on for support. Eve is still riding on the Nevermore and taking shots at people from above. She managed to shot Sage a couple of times since I heard some squeals of pain coming from his direction. Scarlet thinking that a change of scenery was nice decides to run into the desert section of the field. I hurried after him but was slowed down by the sand. It was harder to move around in here than I thought. I cross blades with him for a bit and while he was good, he wasn't as good as I was. I was pushing him back both figuratively and very much literally as I forced him further and further into the desert field. Eventually, I disarmed his sword from his hand and kicked him out of the ring.

Dr. Oobleck: That's what I call kicked to the curb.

Prof. Freeze: That wasn't funny.

Even though I beat him, I used up a lot of my aura to beat him. I turn back to everyone else to see two of Sun's clones jumping up from the top of the treetops to explode onto the Nevermore in the sky. It wasn't enough to kill it but it was enough to knock Eve off of it as she was sent falling to the ground. Kim managed to stop her mid-fall with her telekinesis but Sun out of nowhere appeared and punched Eve in the stomach as she fell on top of a random tree, defeated and out of aura. I start running back to help my teammates but the desert is making it much slower to get there. I watched as Olga extended his circle gold bracelet and saw him place the gold ring behind his head and over his face. He reduced the size and the front of his face collided with his fist. Olga extended the size and did the same thing over and over again until his aura ran out and he fell to the ground. Olga smiled and looked over to where Sun was with an angry expression on his face. Must've been because Eve was knocked out by him, but before he could go assist Kim, a lightning bullet hit the side of his head and he was unfortunately knocked out. I look over at Neptune frantically start running from Bagels once again. It seems like he was barely able to get that shot off without getting hit by Bagels. That just leaves Kim and me against Sun and Neptune. Might as well help Bagels take out Neptune and team up against Sun. It wasn't until I looked over at Neptune again only to see that he was completely still like he couldn't move. I heard Sun scream at him to move but Neptune said that he couldn't. Bagels didn't miss the opportunity to smash down on Neptune with all of his strength. I know I'm not Bagels but it was like I could feel his anger from constantly running around trying to chase down a target that you couldn't seem to hit. Bagels whole body seem to explode into a red light and consumed him as he disappeared from the arena. That was weird considering I didn't send him back and he wasn't defeated as far as I know.

Dr. Oobleck: Another one bites the dust. That blow looked extremely painful. I bet he's going to be feeling that one tomorrow mourning.

Prof. Freeze: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Dr. Oobleck: I guess that's all Mrs. Freeze has to say about it.

I finished running through the desert and ran towards Kim. Kim was fighting Sun in the forest and used her telekinesis to take the pieces of the wood from trees that were destroyed by Bagels to attack Sun from behind. It caught him off guard and he leaped in the air to avoid it. Kim used her telekinesis again to send more pieces of wood at him but he blocked it with his weapon as he fell onto a tree branch. What he wasn't expecting was a blade of fire to slash him behind as he fell to the ground, defeated.

Dr. Oobleck: An amazing fight that was full of twists and turns. I've got to say that I would expect nothing less from the students participating. If anything it just raises the bar for every other battle that comes after. I must say that team JOKE's victory was anything but a joke. What about you Mrs. Freeze?

Prof. Freeze: It was certainly a joy to witness the chaos that ensured after the battle started. I wouldn't mind seeing what they have in store in the later rounds.
