Larger Than Life, Bigger Than Us

There was 2 weeks left before the bal, but still so much preparations to do to allow Lily to go. First, she needed a ticket, then she needed to familiarize herself with the guests. Then, since she was being mistaken as Ran Sheng, Miss Sheng must have had a lot of connexions and Lily was bound to meet them at the event. She couldn't afford to be careless and let someone discover that she was suffering from amnesia. Finally, she had to get herself accustomed to being called Ran and to be intimate with a SongJae since she was his fiancée. For the latter part, she was feeling a bit guilty towards SongJae and Miss Sheng. At heart, Lily had the firm conviction that she wasn't Ran Sheng.

Oh and she also needed to be properly dressed. It was the most anticipated social gathering, she had to make sure not to shame SongJae.

Few days before the event, she found a large present box sitting on her bed. SongJae was waiting near the window, his back facing her. Somehow, SongJae's large back seemed comforting. She paused a few moments to observe him.

"SongJae? What is the present for?"

At the sound of her voice, he slowly turned back to her with glitters in his eyes and large smile. He couldn't wait to see her expression when she'll open his surprise! He spent so much time picking it. Since the bal was drawing near, he wanted to make sure she would be fully confident the night of the event. After all, it would be the first time she would be meeting so many people since he found her.

" Love, it's nothing much....just thought it would be perfect for you."

Lily opened the box and saw a beautiful light pink dress. It was a simple classic cut that would put in value her figure. Next to the dress were rose gold heels and a black purse with accents of the same colour as the heels. A small jewellery box was also included.

" Darling, do you like my presents?"

"They are so beautiful... I don't know what to say...I don't deserve so much... but thank you"

Lily's heart tightened a bit after seeing all those gifts. She really felt she didn't deserve any of these.

"Are you ready for the bal? Do you have everything you need?"

Lily pursed her lips and looked at him hesitantly.

"If it's not too much trouble, would it be possible for you to provide me with .... beauty and make products...as well as....pepper spray?"

SongJae gasped when he heard the last part.
