Larger Than Life, Bigger Than Us

"Who is it? Why are you disturbing this Lord?"

Upon hearing the voice, the guard was startled. He knocked to be polite, but was not expecting anyone to answer. From his knowledge, his Master was still out with Miss Ivy touring the garden and catching up, so to hear his voice out of the library gave him quite a shock.

Everyone in the valley knew the Master was very doting of his sister, even though there was no blood ties between the two. The entire valley was expecting the previous Master to announce the engagement between the Master and Miss Ivy any time soon. The previous Master also could not wait to announce it but the main party had not made a step towards it, the previous Master definitely could not make the step in his stead.

"Master, the human girl has escaped. Your servant tried to catch her but ultimately lost her. I humbly apologizes and awaits his punishment."

"Go report to the main hall and have the Captain give you your retribution"

The guard was dreading the punishment he would receive. The Captain was renowned for his strictness and his Spartan like mentality.

"What about the human girl?

"This Lord will manage."

"This servant will now report to the main hall. Thank you for your grace"

Once the guard left, Lily broke free from the Master's embrace. She had grown very uncomfortable and in her haste to hide her awkwardness, she shot questions to the Master one after the other.

"Am I a prisoner? Why am I forbidden to leave my room? When will I be able to get my revenge?"

"Yes and No. Because. Who knows?"

The Master answered them back in the same fashion, tac tac tac. However, the answered made no sense at all to Lily. Since she was not sure he properly understood the questions, she repeated them one by one.

"Am I a prisoner?" This time, Lily eagerly waited for an answer.

The Master looked at her as if she had lost some of her brains and repeated very slowly.

"Yes and No"

The expression of ridicule seeping out from the Master's face thoroughly offended Lily now.

"Why yes and no? How can someone be half a prisoner? Someone is either one or not."

"In this Lord's eyes, you are not a prisoner but to the valley's…"

He did not need to explain further. Lily clearly understood her status now. She was really a captive. Mere human being, there was no way anyone would consider her a guest. Her status was lower than the pets. At least, pets were granted the freedom to roam in this valley.

"Will I ever be able to move around without being considered as an escapee?"

Lily was hopeful, after all, the Master had saved Ran's, her life; there was no need to keep her confined.

"This Lord was planning to introduce someone officially at the banquet tomorrow night. Who would have known that someone would be so impatient as to start mindlessly walking around in an unfamiliar territory?"

"When will be able to get my revenge?"

"Who knows? This Lord will not help you get your revenge. This Lord may however help you get stronger, strong enough to stand on the pinnacle of life. If you please This Lord well enough."

Pleasing the Lord?! What did he mean by that? When pleasing and man were in the same sentence, it never meant anything good… Was he expecting her to service him with her body????!!!! Such a pervert!!!

"Pleasing?! Humph… I am no p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.e. I will never lower myself to sell my body in that fashion! NO MATTER THE COST! You better kill me now!"

Before Lily even realized anything, her hand had curled in a fist and had gone straight for the Master's face for a powerful punch.

The Master easily avoided her punch by stepping lightly aside, throwing her balance off and causing her to fall face right on the ground.

"Who said This Lord would want you, Ugly! You are slandering this Lord. Excessively presumptuous."
