Larger Than Life, Bigger Than Us

Speaking of the devil, he had just returned with the doctor and was now looking at both Lily and LingLing with interest and a tinge of envy, not wanting to interrupt them. Lily seemed contented and LingLing though pretended not to care, was actually taking good care of her.

" coughs... coughs... ahem is now a good moment?" The doctor entered the room.

"Love, this is doctor Shi, his family has been our family's doctor for many generations. He will do a quick check up on you."

Lily looked blankly at the young doctor and then back at him. Now that she had eaten, she had so many questions she wanted to ask.

" Who are you? Why am I here? Why do you call me love?" blurted Lily suddenly.

"My love you don't remember? Doctor what's wrong with her?"

The handsome man's face was now showing trace of worry and sadness.

" How could you forget me, your fiancé? We have been betrothed since before you were born. Ever since we met we have been in love, we promised each other that we would be together forever. Can you not recall?"

At those words, LingLing almost died of surprise. What?!??The chick is big brother's fiancée? Since when? Eternal love? Why wasn't I advised??? If they were promised to each other, i would have known. How come nobody ever me mentioned her? I thought she was just a random girl...How is that possible? Isn't his fiancée our neighbour's daughter? LingLing also had many questions for his brother... what he just heard seemed so absurd, he couldn't wait to speak in private with him.

"Gentlemen, let me do my work so I can do a proper check-up. It's too early to tell. Now if you could both leave the room and let me be with my patient."

Both LingLing and his bother were about to leave when Lily interjected.

" I still don't know your name! Could you please give me your name?"

"Song Jae, but you can call me Jae...or baby....or Love...." He winked at her and then pushed LingLing out of the room, closing the door behind him, leaving her with the doctor.

Once they left, the doctor took his time to examine her. First, he made sure she had no external or internal injuries. Then he took her wrist and listened to her pulse.

" Miss Sheng, what is the last thing you remember?"

"What...what did you call me? It doesn't sound like my name."

"Miss Sheng. Ran Sheng. That is your name."

"No, my name is Lily! I don't remember anything but I do remember that my name is Lily!"
