Life Restart

Chapter 8 - Learning About the New World

My 'mother and father' began to tell me every detail of who I was and where I am.

The person who I am currently is called Letisha Bynsteel, 14 years old, and the 2nd child of the Bynsteel Family, a duke household of the Flytia Kingdom. The two people who rule the fief are my father, Alistair Bynsteel, and mother, Seraphina Bynsteel.

I do have an older brother who is a few years older than me named Cain Bynsteel, but he is currently studying in the Royal Academy located in the capital.

There is one thing I learned that left my mouth wide open, the world i'm currently in has magic,

I mean my old world also had magic, such as sense enhancement, and body enhancement, but that wouldn't even compare to the range of magic in this world.

There are currently six types of attributes that a person can use Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Darkness, and Light. My father and mother told me that learning about magic would take up the entire day so we moved on to a different topic.

From what I was told, This world is similar to the folk tales of my former kingdom.

There are different races such as elves, dwarfs, and beastman. The different races can be found on any kingdom, only a few rare countries have only one specific race, but most countries don't discriminate of what race you are. Those countries must be to stubborn to change traditions.

The kingdom I'm currently residing in is the Flytian Kingdom, one of the rare countries that only contain humans. This left me kind of disappointed, as I wanted to see the different races, I never had the chance to see something this bizarre in my old world, as only humans resided there.

After explaining to me where I was, my mother and father heavily insisted I take a nap to get better even though I was not tired at all.

Is this what parental love is like? Having loving parents who care about you really changes everything. I used to envy all those kids who had their mother's tell them what is good and not good for their health, and now here I am, having a mother of my own. My heart warms when I feel their concern for me.

The joy I'm currently undergoing removes any loneliness that my heart had when coming to this body. I could feel myself being blanketed by warmth when I am near these people.

Enjoying this warmth, a sense of anxiousness came to my heart as thoughts came to my head

'But is it fine to accept warmth that isn't mine? Will they abandon me after finding out the truth? Will I have to be alone again?'

The next day I woke up to a voice of a girl

"-ase wake up"

"Young miss please wake up"

Is she calling for me?

"Huh?" I slowly rub my eyes as I carefully sit up on my bed to get a clear picture of who is calling for me.

I turn my head to the person who called me and saw a girl who looks to be in her teens to early twenties with a brown ponytail in a maid outfit. As I continued to stare at her, I noticed she was shivering, but why? Is she afraid of something?

"Why are you shivering?" I asked in a concern voice, but my grogginess after waking up made my look seem frustrated

"Eeeeep"the maid jolted and stood straight still shivering

"I"M SORRY! I"M SORRY!" she bowed repetitively, looking as if she was pleading for her life to be spared

EEEH! What's going on? Am I really that scary? I thought my appearance of blond hair like my father, and the face of my mother would give off a gentle impression to others.

I didn't know what to do in this type of situation where a person is apologizing as if their livelihood was in the line, so under a desperate situation, I tried to tranquilize her worries and blindly accepted her pleading.

"No it's fine you did nothing wrong, please please stop bowing"

The maid stopped suddenly, and slowly met my eyes with a confused face

"You won't fire me?"

"Fire you? Why would I? You were only waking me up, when I was oversleeping" I flashed her a gentle smile to change the atmosphere.

Her face grew to an even more surprised look. Her eyes were as open as wide as possible with her jaw slacking leaving her mouth wide open.

Is she that surprised of me not firing her? Man the previous owner must've been either a spoiled brat or ruthless. Judging from the way my father and mother are, it is safe to say the previous Letisha was doted on a lot and as a result became spoiled.

"Are you really the young miss?" the maid asked with uncertainty looking down on the floor with a flushed look

"Yes."

Silence took over as the maid began to process the change of her mistress.

'I must be having a dream, there's no way our young mistress would show a smile, I guess she did lose her memories' the maid muttered to herself but I managed to catch all of it.

I guess the previous body's owner didn't like smiling that often, I can relate, as I didn't have reasons to smile when I was a captain but why would the previous Letisha not smile with this charming family?

Was Letisha known for having a bad character and that's why the maid was afraid of me?

My current personality must be the exact opposite of the previous Letisha's. I must work hard on trying to change the way everyone will see me, after all noone wants to be feared.

"Oh! Letisha sama, Master and Mistress are currently waiting for you at the dining hall for breakfast"

The maid suddenly remembered what she came to tell Letisha

"Oh, breakfast, Right I'll be right there"
