Chapter 9 - Long Awaited Answers

...

It was now morning of the next day and Joshua was in a deep sleep for the first time since coming to this world. While in the middle of dreaming he was woken up by the sound of a door slaming open and a woman yelling from inside the house.

"Don't break the door! I'll be done soon just wait a bit!"

Joshua watching this knew that it was time to move. The boy had rushed out the house and paced back and forth waiting for his mother. He was excited for school and felt that his mother was awfully slow today.

"Hoo... Alight I'm done you rascal lets go."

The mother came out soon catching her breath then held her son's hand leading him to school.

'Great. I'll follow them like I did when they were heading home. Hopefully its not too far as getting to this house from the marketplace while also trying to keep up with their pace without losing them made my limbs a bit sore.'

Luckily for Joshua the school was not far at all. The people who built the school probably built the building close to the residential areas on purpose so that the children and parents don't have to walk far.

In fact the child could have gotten to school by himself perfectly fine, but the mother was just being protective like most all mothers.

They arrive at a large one story building where one could see some other children wandering inside.

"Be good okay?"

The mother says, but was wonderfully ignored by the child as he had already excitedly rushed in the building. The mothered sighed with a wry smile then turned around heading back home.

Joshua couldn't exactly get into the school building as when he tried an man, most likely the teacher, saw him and picked him up bringing him back outside.

"Haha silly Yaban you're not supposed to be here!"

The man then closed the door behind him instantly shutting down Joshua's plan to shamelessly enter the building again and again until they got tired of him and let him stay inside the building.

'You're the silly Yaban you fool!'

'Now I have to find another way to listen in. I'll go around the building and hopefully the classroom has its windows open. Maybe I can listen in then.'

Joshua then walked around the building and luckily it seems all the windows are open to let the fresh air in.

'Perfect. From here I can even hear the students eachother, there won't be a problem listening in on the class. The credit all goes to my inherit skill though or else I wouldn't even be able to understand what they are saying.'

At that moment Joshua could hear the teacher begin his lesson after calming down the kids.

"Today we are going to learn about how the world works and how we become stronger. Everyone ready?"

"Yeah!!"

The teacher was met with an enthusiastic affirmation.

"Okay lets begin with the basics shall we? Every living being on this planet has a list in encoded in our souls, even plants. To make that easier to understand we have it in our heads. To all you kids it says that you are 1 star lifeforms and tells you your level. Some of you are even born with rare inherit skills. The maximum level your skills can go up to is level 10 and will not go any higher just like how the highest star life form anyone can go up to is 10."

"To level up your skill level you need to use it often and gain proficiency in it or in simpler terms just get better at useing it. As for your actual levels, they go up depending on your acheivements. Acheivements can be as little as lifting a heavy weight, but would only grant you one level at most for a 1 star lifeform. Higher star lifeforms will need bigger achievements. Achievements also sometimes come in the form of titles."

'So thats why I leveled up so much the first night, it seems my thoughts were headed in the right direction. I also got a few more while I traveled so far to the village; I guess that counted as an achievement as well.'

The kids were anamoured with the new information and sat quietly listening to their teacher.

"When you get to level 100 you can rank up into a 2 star lifeform whenever you want. At that moment you will be able to upgrade your class, but you kids need to be careful when you upgrade your classes as only when you rank up will your skills that are at max level will evolve."

"You should wait until your skill is at max before you rank up. The only time your skill will stay at max even if you rank up is that either your skill has no further evolution or you are not a high enough star life form to wield the evolved skill."

"There are also rare cases when two maxed out skills have combined, but that almost never happens."

Time flew by and class was almost over before anyone knew it.

"When ranking up you will often times, but not always get multiple choices depending on your achievements. You will gain skills depending on what you rank up into."

"Finally every class has a tier 10 being the highest and the higher the tier the stronger you are."

"Oh my! Look at the time! Its almost time for you all to go home."

It was then that the teacher say the parents of the children waiting outside the door.

"Awww!"

The children complained wanting to learn more.

"Haha don't worry in the following days I will teach you about the two systems, the class system we follow and the very similar beast system as well has the Gods and their blessings."

'The beast system! I think that's what I follow.'

"Yay! Bye Mr. Stinn!"

The kids left following their parents that came to pick them up.

Joshua decided to spend the next few days at the school to learn as much as he could about how the world works.

...

Once Joshua decided that he had learned enough and decided to move on, he had already spent 5 days in the village.
