Lightning Sage

In the morning of the following day, Raiden went to meet Jiraiya. Naruto tried to do the same thing as yesterday.

"Today someone is coming to visit you, so stay here for today."

"Really? who is it?"

"They are my mom and aunt." Answered Raiden.

"Really? Then I'll stay home today." Naruto smiled and agreed to stay.

"Ok, I'll be going then Naruto. Breakfast is at the table and don't just do nothing while you wait for them to come, read a book or something."

"But I don't know how to read."

"I'll have to teach later then." Jiraiya said.

Raiden and Jiraiya left the house then Jiraiya made a shadow clone to watch Naruto and headed toward the training ground.

After reaching the training ground, Raiden started by saying "Sensei, I want to take the Chuunin exams happening six months from now in a two-man team. Can I do that?"

"Well, it depends. Who's your partner?"

"Uchiha Itachi."

"Figures, you can since you're both geniuses of the village, but you'll have to do a lot of missions to reach the quota for taking the Chuunin exams." (A/N: The quota is something I took from some of the comments.)

"Thank you sensei." Raiden said and they started their training.

Back at Jiraiya and Naruto's house, clone Jiraiya was watching Naruto having his breakfast. After Naruto finished his breakfast, he was getting ready to leave the house but clone Jiraiya showed itself at the door.

"You think I didn't know you'll try to leave. You're a brat aren't you?"

Naruto gave a bright smile and walked back inside without saying anything.

"Since we've got free time, come here I'll teach you how to read." Jiraiya said and Naruto responded by coming closer.

Almost an hour later, there was a knock on the door. Jiraiya got up to open the door. He was greeted by three people, Aino, Mikoto and Sasuke.

"Thank you for having us Jiraiya-sama." Said Aino.

"It's okay, it actually works in my favour since I can't stay here all the time. come inside."

The three people came inside with Sasuke giving looks at everything he was seeing for the first time. Their house was an old Japanese style, while this one was a more modern style so he was quite fascinated with it.

Inside Jiraiya called Naruto to come to meet them.

"Are you Raiden-nii-san's mom?"

Aino smiled "Yes I am."

Both Mikoto and Aino noted that he looked exceptionally skinny and his size was pretty small even for children his age.

"Sasuke, go play with Naruto-chan okay?"

Sasuke grunted trying to look stoic like his brother and father, but complied anyway and went to Naruto.

"Jiraiya-sama, why does he look so...so bad?"

"I'm sure you heard the rumours about the nine-tails incarnate by now. He's been living alone for a couple of months now and he didn't have anyone to take care of him. He's been living off cup ramen for the past couple of months. If he didn't have that Uzumaki vitality along with the nine-tails in his body, He would've probably got sick a long time ago and died."

"That can't be, he's been living like that all alone for months."

"It's okay, now that I am here and taking care of him nothing bad will happen to him. He's my most precious student's son, I consider him my own grandson."

"And I've already dealt with most of the things threatening him. Next week, I'll have the old man talk to those civilians that keep using an S-class secret for gossip."

"Jiraiya-sama, we couldn't help Kushina on that day, but please rest assured if you ever need help please tell us and we'll do our best to help you." Said Mikoto.

"Well, as you can see I can't exactly stay here all the time, with me having a student and all that I'll also need to start taking missions next week, so I'll be leaving for extended periods of time. If you can take care of Naruto in that time, I'll be thankful." They both now noticed he was a clone and wasn't really here.

"Don't worry Jiraiya-san, for the time you're in the village I'll come to visit Naruto with Sasuke every day." Said Mikoto.

"Whenever you are taking Raiden for a mission I'll take care of him as if he was my own son." Said Aino.

As the a.d.u.l.ts continued their talk, Sasuke and Naruto were sitting in the other room. Sasuke was still trying to do that stoic look like his parents while Naruto looking at his expression and started frowning at him.

Sasuke noticed his frown and did the same before turning his face to the other side. Naruto did the same, but unknown to the other one they were both smiling. Naruto smiled and decided to try again.

"I am Uzumaki Naruto, what's your name?"

"Uchiha Sasuke." Said Sasuke without trying to speak to him further.

"Well, what do you like to do or play?"

"None of your business."

"Huh, what did you say you bastard?"

"You heard me, idiot." They started to squabble and try to fight each other.

Even though they were fighting they had a smile for some reason. Sasuke and Naruto both had similar situations, they couldn't get any friends due to their status.

After hearing their fight Mikoto entered the room and saw them fight while smiling. She grabbed them both.

"Friends shouldn't fight you know?"

"Who said I'm this idiot's friend?" Said Sasuke turning his head.

"Who wants to be friends with you in the first place?" Said Naruto doing the same.

Mikoto blinked at them and started laughing at them both.

"You have to be true to yourselves boys. If you want to be friends with someone you should try your hardest."

They both humphed while still looking away from each other.

"Don't worry, from now on you'll have a lot of opportunities to become friends." Said Mikoto.
