Lightning Sage

Chapter 21 - Training With A Master

er Raiden went home and told his mom of his discovery about Naruto.

"Are you sure?! If it really is him we have to go see him."

"He's a blond boy that looks like a copy of the Fourth Hokage with the surname Uzumaki. They should have changed his name to protect him from the fourth's enemies. Also, Jiraiya-sensei, the fourth's teacher told me to take care of him after seeing him."

"Jiraiya-sensei? Your three-man team is lead by Jiraiya-sama?!"

"No, it's only me. He took me as his disciple without anyone else."

Aino was shocked and very happy at all the good news she was getting.

"Ok, I have to tell Mikoto-nee-san, I'll be back later."

Aino left the house and later came back and told him to ask Jiraiya if she and Mikoto could visit Naruto. He said he'll ask him and took the rest of the day off. He also asked his mother if she could teach him the medical Jutsu she knew to which she agreed.

The following day, Raiden went to meet Jiraiya at the location he gave him. It was a big house. Raiden knocked on the door and waited.

A couple of seconds later he heard running voices before the door opened revealing Naruto who had a wide smile.

"Welcome, Raiden-nii-san!"

"Hello Naruto, is Jiraiya-sensei here?"

"Yes, he's inside." Said Naruto while inviting Raiden to come in.

After coming inside he saw Jiraiya sitting inside as if waiting for him.

"Good, you're on time." Said Jiraiya before looking to Naruto.

"Naruto, go and have breakfast it's on the table." Naruto nodded and left towards what looked like the kitchen.

"Sensei, my mother told me to ask you if she and Mikoto-san could come to visit Naruto."

"If I remember correctly they were friends of Kushina. They are welcome to visit anytime especially since I can't be here all the time as I have to train you."

"Thank you, sensei."

"it's no problem. Now we need to get going, but wait a minute."

Jiraiya got up and went towards the kitchen where Naruto was.

"Naruto, I'm going to the training grounds with Raiden, I'll be back in a couple of hours."

"Ah, can I come too?"

Jiraiya frowned "I'm going to train him so it might be dangerous, maybe some other time."

"Don't worry, I'll stay away and even if I'm injured my body heals pretty fast, besides what will I do until you're back."

Jiraiya who didn't know how to handle kids that much gave in and decided to take him with him today.

"Ok, but only for today as you don't have anything to do. From tomorrow, someone will be coming to visit you."

They then headed for the training grounds.

After reaching the training grounds and putting a simple barrier around Naruto just to make sure he doesn't get hit or leaves Jiraiya started his lesson.

"Ok, yesterday I evaluated your strength and you're pretty good. The only thing you're lacking is more experience and stronger Jutsu, which means you're in luck that your teacher is someone who has a lot of both. I'll teach you the Jutsu I can and with your Sharingan and chakra control, using them should be easy, but mastering them will depend on you."

"Sensei, when will we start taking missions?"

"Next week we'll take a C-rank mission as D-ranks are used to strengthen team bonds and teamwork. You don't have a team and your strength is already at Chuunin level."

Jiraiya started displaying ninjutsu for Raiden to copy using his Sharingan. He started using B-rank Jutsu, consisted of most of his arsenal. The most unfortunate thing was that Jiraiya had mastered all nature transformation except lightning so he could only give him the Jutsu scroll to learn from which he didn't have at the moment, but said he'll get them for him later.

After they finished their training session, it was a bit past noon. Raiden had gained 12 new B-rank Jutsu to work on and master most of which were fire.

Naruto was fascinated by the display of the different things being released from Jiraiya and Raiden's body, fire, water, wind, earth. They looked extremely cool.

"WOAH! Old man, can you teach me those things? please." Asked Naruto with puppy eyes.

"Maybe when you're a bit older in a year or two."

Naruto pouted but still looked very fascinated with them.

"Ok, this is it for today we'll meet tomorrow at the same time, ok?"

"Yes sensei."

Raiden left and found Itachi and Shisui in the Uchiha training grounds. They should have just returned from their missions.

"Ah, if it isn't the newest genius of the leaf, graduating at seven with the highest scores ever."

Raiden looked a bit embarrassed at Shisui's teasing "Please don't say that Shisui-san. Itachi could have done the same if he stayed for the entire year."

"Haha, anyway who's your instructor?"

"I was fortunate enough for Jiraiya-sama to take interest in me and teach me personally with no team." Raiden said with a bit of pride in his eyes at being taught by such a great person.

Both Shisui and Itachi widened their eyes.

"Aren't you a bit too lucky to have a Sannin teach you?" Said Shisui.

"What's most important is that I finally started learning higher-ranked Jutsu. now forget about that, Itachi are you taking the Chuunin exams this year?"

"My instructor will probably not nominate my team because they are fresh graduates, but I still want to participate, so I'll try to work something out with father and the Hokage."

"Well, I also have no team and Jiraiya-sensei said I am already at Chuunin level, so maybe we could participate together."

"That could work if Jiraiya-Sama backs you up. The exams are in 6 months, see what you can do."

"Will do, Now Shisui-san please help me with the Kenjutsu training."

They started their daily routine of training until dinner before going home.

When he reached his house he sat down for dinner with his mother who looked a bit expectant.

"Mom, Jiraiya-sensei said that you could come whenever you want, here this is the location of their house."

Aino was overjoyed and went out to tell Mikoto after dinner. Tomorrow they would visit their friend's son.
