Lightning Sage

At night, in a room in a Japanese style house, there were four men sitting around discussing affairs of the village and clan.

"The pressure on us has lessened after the Hokage's declaration a couple of months ago, but we still need to keep our guard up. We don't know what the council might be planing against us." Said one of the men, the second elder of the Uchiha.

"Indeed, it seems that they are occupied with other things. And with the Anbu taking care of the arrests for talking about the nine-tails, the police force is no longer as hated." Said the Third elder.

The man sitting in the middle, seeming like their leader nodded.

"For now, we will only observe and see what will happen in the coming months. What is the progress of the future clan head?" He asked the others.

"He has already fully mastered his Sharingan and with help of Shisui, he has become a Genjutsu master." Answered the Third elder

"What about his promotion to Chuunin, he has already been ready for a year."

"As you know, his teammates are fresh graduates that are not ready for the exam so his instructor is not recommending his team, but I have been informed that he is planning on participating in a two-man team with Jiraiya's disciple, the half Uchiha." Said the second elder with his look turning to disgust near the end.

"That boy, what do we know about him? We have left him and his mother alone considering his relationship with the clan head, but we have to eventually deal with his issue." Said the head elder.

"He is 8 months younger than Itachi, graduated with the highest scores in the academy's history. He has been training with Shisui and Itachi since coming back. He is the disciple of Jiraiya the Sannin and has finished multiple C-ranks since graduating. Overall, extremely talented and has very high prospects."

"With his relationship with The clan head's wife and Itachi, we didn't say anything before. With him becoming Jiraiya's disciple, there are fewer chances of doing anything to him." Said the two elders in quick succession.

"There is one thing about him that none of you knows." Said the elder who had been quiet for the entire discussion, the fourth elder.

"What is it?" Asked the elder in the middle.

"That boy, he has awakened Sharingan!"

"What?! Are you sure?" Asked the head elder.

"Absolutely, I was going to check on Itachi's training when I saw him sparring with Shisui using Sharingan, A fully m.a.t.u.r.e one!"

"Heavens! He has mastered his Sharingan this young?!" Said the third elder.

"This presents a problem. He holds the Sharingan but identifies himself as not an Uchiha. We will have to deal with this, especially with his abilities. He rivals Itachi and is the disciple of one of the Sannin. if we are able to make him acknowledge himself as an Uchiha, it would be in the favour of the clan." Said the head elder.

"Agreed!" Said all elders.

The next clan meeting in the Naka shrine, Raiden's issue was brought up.

"Clan head, there is an issue that must be handled immediately." Opened the first elder while giving a sign to the other three.

"Yes, clan head. It has come to our attention that a child not of the Uchiha clan has awakened Sharingan. The child is also extremely talented with it and has already mastered the Sharingan at eight." Said the second elder.

"His name is Raiden. We, the elders have agreed that his talent is extreme;y valuable and do not want to just take his eyes away, we want him to take on his mother's name and become an Uchiha!" Said the third elder.

Itachi and Shisui who were attending the meeting as well were first shocked at their discovery of Raiden's eyes but soon realised that it might not matter that much as it was only changing his name.

Fugaku sighed first then said "We will give the boy a choice, the same way we did two years ago with Uchiha Izumi. Itachi, he is your cousin and friend, as the future clan head, you might have to deal with something like this in the future so you will inform him."

Itachi nodded "Yes, father." And responded.

"Moving on-" The meeting continued about the clan's matters as usual after that.

The following day, Itachi headed to Raiden's house early so he could catch him before he left. After reaching there and knocking on the door, he was greeted by Aino who was delighted at seeing him.

"Itachi-Kun, what are you doing here this early? for now, come in, come in." She invited him in with smiles.

"Aunt Aino, I am here for Raiden, is he up?"

"He should be. wait a bit, I'll check on him."

A minute later she came back with Raiden who was drying his hair after a shower.

"Itachi, what's up?" Asked Raiden while smiling at Itachi.

"Your Sharingan has been found out by the clan, you now have a choice, either you become a part of the Uchiha clan entirely by changing your name, or be transplanted with normal eyes." Itachi dropped a bomb on them while looking serious.

After his declaration, his face softened "I think the choice is obvious."

Raiden sighed while his mother looked a bit panicked.

"What will I do?" Said his mother while looking panicked.

"It's okay mom, it's just a name. I'll do it." Said Raiden to his mother who looked at him.

"It isn't as simple as that, that is your father's name! We can't just let you leave it. What if it's the last thing I have of him?" Said Aino with the last sentence being said in a really low voice.

Raiden looked towards her and saw her tearing up.

"You don't have to worry that much mom, I have already promised you that I'll bring dad back. I will ask Jiraiya-sensei to help me investigate, he is the best spy in the village so he'll definitely find out what happened!"

Aino looked at him with tears in her eyes and said: "You still remember that promise?"

"I will never forget!" (A/N: Duh! his Sharingan was on.)

"Itachi, you can tell the clan I accept with the condition of keeping Hitoshi as my middle name."

Itachi nodded "I think that would be okay as long as you belong to the Uchiha clan."

"Thank you." Said Aino to Raiden as she kneeled a bit to match his height and hugged him.
