Liming

In a huge hall, with nothing but tall white walls and columns, two rows of people clad in white robes sitting cross-legged facing each other are in meditation.

Above the roof of the building was a five-meter long and two-meter wide sword. It is enveloped by a surge of spiritual energy so visible that it looks like it's ripping space itself.

A woman in her late twenties opened her eyes and slowly stood up. As she did, the other people in the room out of curiosity opened their eyes slightly.

An elder with a white beard that almost touched the ground snorted, "Xue Wuying, are you going to check on He Junyan's chamber again?"

The woman, called Xue Wuying, scrunched her eyebrows. "Whatever I'm doing, it's none of your business Elder Gong Lei."

"Hah! Love-struck fool!", Elder Gong Lei snorted one more time and in the end closed his eyes to continue meditating again. The other elders also shook their heads and went back to meditation.

Xue Wuying is one of the youngest high priests of the Human Clan in the high planes. At the age of twenty three, she had already attained the enlightenment stage. This is no easy feat as a high priest like her could probably destroy a continent in the low planes with a tap of her finger.

On the other hand, He Junyan, the person who Elder Gong Lei mentioned, is a more exceptional high priest. He is about the same age as Xue Wuying but he was able to reach the enlightenment stage when he was eighteen years old. He is also the one and only disciple of Elder Lou Min, the God of Soul and Space.

Most of the high priests usually stay at this white hall but on some cases, they are assigned on missions to hunt down other clans that are not part of their alliance.

What others thought was it was the Humans who started the war and annihilation of other clans. But the reality is, Humans alone cannot make this achievement.

As soon as Xue Wuying's foot stepped out of the hall, she flew in a hurry to the east side of the city.

"Junyan, are you finally back? I've been waiting for you for a long time." she murmured to herself.

If in the Fu Yang Continent, the portal to Mayan's mysterious cave is somewhere in the Red River of Hongse Canyon, here in Lu Hao Continent, it is a small pool right below a seven-meter waterfall. This waterfall is located in the infamous Mijin Mountain Range.

They have something in similar though. If the red river is as red as wine, this pool is as blue as the sky.

Normally, bodies of water inside a normal forest is either clear, muddy or a little on the dark color with tinge of green caused by moss. But the water in this pool looks like the clear blue skies.

A few minutes earlier, in about five kilometers away from the waterfall, a man in a high ranking military armor was laying face down near the stream bank.

There were countless small and slightly larger rocks in the area and if one looks closely, the man had left a trail of blood when he came out from the forest behind him.

Moments later, three men clad in black arrived. They looked at each other first then one of them signalled the other to come close to check the man's body.

The man in black tightly gripped his already bloody sword and cautiously moved toward the man in the stream bank.

He was about to kick the side of the man to turn him around when whooosh... His right leg that was about to touch the body was severed and was sent flying.

The other two men in black raised their guards up and the man with severed leg's eyes widened. Before he could scream of pain, another whooosh... His head was also severed and as it rolled in the air, he saw his own body then everything went black.

The two stared with terror at their comrade whose life was instantly taken away. Also, at that moment, the man laying on the ground slowly stood up and looked at the direction of the other two men, who were unable to make sense of the situation.

What are they? They are powerful cultivators at the top of the food chain. They trained all their lives to reach their current position. They're not just your regular mercenaries. Yet, one of them was simply cut like a carrot.

Fear loomed on both of their hearts. Just earlier, they were sure this man was already dead. They were countless cuts all over his body and one of them were even able to stab him below the heart. Not to mention the poison on their weapons.

When they saw the man's eyes, they shivered. They are sure to die here today.

Not wanting any part, head or limbs, to be separated from his body, one of the men in black swallowed a small bottle of poison.

When the other saw his comrade, he reached inside his cosmos sack. However, splaaat... An unknown force crushed him to the ground.
